I just moved to Washington DC and my favorite self-care thing I started was putting all the names of the museums into a jar and pulling one out each week and going to that museum. It's perfect because it's routine-either on saturday or sunday, but it also has an element of surprise
I'm not even half way through and I love this. I know it sounds weird but it actually really helps to see what self care literally looks like! More more! Lol
Kati Morton you totally inspired me to take a self-care day today! I just took a long shower and has coffee, amazing lol. Think I might go buy a coloring book later ❤️.
i love you. self care is sooooo underrated. planning on taking a self care tomorrow because i desperately need it. so happy you were able to treat yourself babe!
I feel very blessed to live in the UK! Student finance only starts charging you after you earn over a certain amount, so at the minute I only pay about £50 a month and it goes straight out of my wages. If you don't pay it off in 25 years they wipe the rest! I have been very fortunate to get a funded place for my masters, I'm going to do Mental Health Nursing :) I love taking self care days too, I love shopping on my own, go at my own pace, try on as much as I want etc. Just want to say your skin is amazing!
Wow Kati you always put so much effort into your videos AND THAT SHOWS. You are one of the most passionate and loving persons I have ever encountered and I can't even express how grateful I am that you exist. Thank you for helping out thousands of people every single day by doing what you do. Sending you all my light and love ✨
Yours is the first mental health Channel I've seen that shows me the kind of person I would like to be, but doesn't make me feel jealous or envious. You make me genuinely just want to work on myself to be happy. Thank you.
I think it's great to see a therapist using self care and seeing that it actually works! Kind of like a practising what you preach kind of this! Loved this video 😊😊
Kati your TH-cam channel has been by far my BEST experience with therapy. Been diagnosed schizoaffective in 2009, and then following borderline personality disorder, PTSD, depression, split personality disorder, attention deficit disorder, dissociation disorder, and so on. Your channel has helped me warm up therapy which I have felt closed off to for the mystery and superiority that I usually have felt from therapist. I’m actually finally receiving the healing needed through your channel. Thank you Kati!!!!!
Thank you for allowing us an insight into your mental health days. Looks as if you had a great day. You're such an inspiration. Thank you for reminding me it's OK to have mental health days. Lots of love xo
Watching this was surprisingly inspiring to me. I feel like the idea of self-care is never talked about and sometimes even frowned upon. I have been learning how important it is lately as I go through therapy and am starting to see how much I am impacted by how fully loaded my schedule is. However, seeing this and how you not only talk about self-care, but you really make the effort to be aware and fit it into your schedule is inspiring to me to make an effort as well. Thanks again Kati for all you do!
loved this video. i love self care days - or "me days" i call them, having watched this i think im going to schedule one in for Sunday, this will be the second mothers day after loosing my mum, so i think a me day is probably the best way to spend it..
Omg.. haha!! The truth is I don't really shop that much.. haha! So I wasn't even sure where to go in the store..lol! But we found the cozy clothes area pretty quick :) xoxo
I have just discovered your channel and really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I don't have the self confidence right now to go out and explore therapists and examine who could be a right fit for me. These videos have helped me out a lot in just the few hours that I've spent watching them. Thank you and I hope you'll keep doing them for a long time! :)
Katie, Thank you SO much for sharing this. It makes me feel so comforted that you are also taking care of yourself & have “real life” stress & practice what you teach. I’ve got a playlist saved of some of your videos, & you have helped me improve my anxiety and past traumas, so that I can enjoy my life and be more present. Thank you so much for your channel! Jen from Minnesota 😃
Kati Morton I keep repeating it .. oops🙈😂 And great job at your first vlog😊😊 2 days to create.. that makes you a perfectionist. I love how you really put the effort in it and try your best for everyone that's watching 😊❤
Kati, I really admire the work you put into your channel. I started my own channel a couple months ago on the same topics and you are an inspiration to us all! Keep up one of the most amazingly caring channel to help all of us with mental health issues!
This just came in my recommended tab-I watch all of your videos every Monday and Thursday and I have not seen this one. I must say this is my favorite video, I've been struggling with understanding what self-care exactly is and seeing that I do these things but maybe not as consistently as I needed was a great guide for me. I appreciate the reassurance that you can change the way you think, cope and handle everyday stresses. 🤗
My self care days/things do not involve shopping. Usually it’s hanging at home, taking a bath and doing a face mask, playing with my service dog, watching a movie or TV, eating healthy meals, doing what I want! Sometimes it’s going to a local health food store, and resting, or stopping at the beach on a way home from a doctors appointment! And I also hate coloring! Have never liked art, except the art of dancing! So dancing is something I love even though I cant be in classes now. I also work on training with my service dog for fun!
You are the best! I'm currently working on my master's in counseling and I watch your videos to help reinforce my understanding of the DSM5 for Psychopathology class. I've also introduced you to my classmates. Your videos have been so helpful and fun! The self-care blog is awesome. Thanks!!
Kati. I watch your videos for two reasons. Number one, great content and advice. Two, you remind me of my sweet mom who I miss dearly. You even look like her.
I love when you gave Sean the eye when he kept recording you with your face mask on hahahahaha. This rocks. Also..... the ending made me giggle. SEAN! ENOUGH WITH THE CLANKING! 😂😜 You're doing wonderful things, Kati. Take a breath and try not to worry! You put out so much good into the world....I just feel like things will work out for you. 😘 #selfcareftw
Your eyes were so beautiful and sparkling in this video. The time you took for yourself, to de-stress and calm your body and mind really showed through! Thank you for the different video and for all the thought and effort you put into it, Kati.
You already do so much for us and it's hard to even believe that you have any time for yourself! It was nice to see you in a different setting, I think it adds a depth to all your other videos and your channel as a whole. One thing that resonated with me was you viewing the cityscape from above. Doing that or looking at the stars (too bad I moved to a city) shifts my perspective physically and therefore mentally. Makes me feel like I belong to this world and see that my worries are not really a big deal after all. And it's really easy to do. Anyway, happy vlogging!
Seeing some positive people is the best therapy for me it helps me get through the tough times and It inspires me to be who I want to be. Seeing people who just want to help people, who are active in the community, or just aren't afraid to be themselves or are grounded and know who they are help me. I'm just kind near the bottom when it comes to bettering my life and everyone else's life around me. I use to feel like I had no choices that I had to keep being a zombie and I had to keep listening to what everyone else thought was best for my life and never myself it just made me crumble.
I love this video Kati. I come back to it and feel great/better about realizing when I need to take a self care day or morning or whatever. ☺️ Awesome routine!
Ahhh this was so nice to watch! You're what I want to be when I grow up (even though I'm pretty sure we're the same age lol - I'm 33). Completely addicted to your videos!
I never got the hang of colouring for relaxation. The part about not going outside the lines and choosing the "right" colour stresses me out in its own respect haha.
Yes! Loved it. You are the best. If only I could relax around other therapists the way I can your videos. Instead I get panic attacks walking by guidance.
Kati! This was probably my very favorite video you have ever done and I have watched them all! This week I was challenged by both my OT and my therapist to work on self care ... thanks for sharing!
I love you so so much Kati💕💕💕 I told my counsellor about you and she has recommended your videos to ALOT of her clients !! But like seriously, words can't explain how much I love you xx
Kati you're adorable! Thank you so much for all your mental health videos and for helping so many people, but I'm so glad you're taking some time for yourself also! Love to you and Sean.
I LOVE this video. Such a great idea to vlog it instead of telling people because everyone is so vastly different. I'm planning on doing this soon too.
This was very nice! I do a quick version of this for when I'm feeling down or overwhelmed and am struggling to start my activity, so I'll do some sort of exercise for like 10 minutes (like dancing to a song on the radio!), drink water, shower, put on comfy clothes and perfume, light a yummy candle, eat something good and tidy up just one space to be there. And then life goes on.
thank u so much for all of your videos! I struggle a lot with self-care and knowing what it is for myself and how i can learn self care behavior and i really appreciate u and this video
I love this! I live in Scotland and all these videos just make my day, especially on days like today which hasn't been great. These videos just remind me to focus on helping myself a little more. So thank you! x
Love this video! Thanks to your channel I been seeing a therapist now for a month and your channel gave me the much needed courage and motivation to do so! Thank You
Kati this video couldn't have come at a better time for me. Five months ago my first love was brutally murdered and today was her birthday. She would've been 32. Today was the first time in about a month or so that i broke down again. I thought I was doing better, but today set me back. After work I let myself sob and shower and as I was getting ready to lay around, I got an update. This video popped up and motivated me. I forced myself out of bed, threw my favorite tank on, favorite snapback, and I even wore make up (something I haven't done in months). I reached out to a friend and we spent the evening together. What would've been an evening in bed crying turned into shopping at my favorite store, watching Beauty and the Beast, and going out to dinner. Thank you. Also, I'm sure my therapist will thank you as soon as I tell her about today. Keep doing what you're doing. Stay Woke.
Its such a relief to see this. Just watching the video is calming. I am feeling very stressed out and overwhelmed today. I have chores to do. But I have plenty of time so at least I can take it slowly. :)
You are the absolute best! you can't imagine hoe bad i have fwlt both mentally and psichally amd after this video i just felt a ton better! thank you a lot!
To be honest, these videos are fun to watch and though I love a lot of your content, these types of blogs are soothing every now and then! Wouldn’t mind some more of this type of content!
Good to hear different self care routines - lets keep the comments flowing on what people find helpful here!! Our self care ideas change over time too right. Reading a good book can be a great escape
Love this! Coloring is so relaxing indeed. And I like that you gave yourself a mask and the lighting of that candle was therapeutic in and of itself. Bravo to self-care!
I love the idea of self care days where I can just go out and relax and buy myself nice things. But my problem is that spending money (especially on things that aren't 100% necessary) stresses me out. How do you deal with stress from spending money on yourself? Thanks! P.S. Loved this video! Keep 'em coming!
Do you like plants? Or clean spaces? For me cleaning is therapeutic and taking care of my plants is really relaxing because of the greens and if they are flowers it always smells nice. If they are herbs or vegetables you can always talk to them and tell them about your week and what stacy or Kevin did at work. 1 bad thing and 1 good thing. Giving your plants names also for some reason helps me lol
Really broke myself. Took self care tonight after work for myself and son.. Went out to dinner.... Talked a lot about mental health... The parentified child!! We had a good chat about mental health as he had anxiety. He is 17. Talked about breaking bad family cycles. Had coffee sat outside... Talked about future and had a laugh and people watched. Def a good self care evening... Thanks for the videos which have really helped.
Hi Kati. Loved the video, felt like permission to relax! I have self care Wednesdays. I recently cut my working hours and i'm much happier working a 4 day week. I can't save money but its enough to pay for everything I need. Great video
I absolutely love this video starting out I was at a high intense job and it burned me out and self care was not an options. I was working on the weekends and when my husband noticed how stressed I was he mentioned that I needed to change jobs. I changed jobs to a more laid back job and it has made all the difference. I love my job and I love what I do. In school they stressed self care and burnout but I didn't listen because I though that was for when I had a few more years under my license. No you need self care even before the license is finished.
I think you should do a blog every week and nothing about a topic, but just a day in the life of Kati Morton and what she does besides making content!!! Love you Kati!!
Other than loving your regular content, I like that you practice what you preach and you are taking an extra step in showing us what that [self-care] can look like as it makes it much easier to relate to...and then go and practice ourselves.
I am inspired! My closest friend and I decided to treat each other to an experience instead of buy each other gifts for Christmas. Its almost 2 months later and I finally figured out what experience to do! We are going to leave the kids with our hubbies (and they cant call unless its a real crisis) and we are going to so a "friends care day" where we go out, hit up several stops, from nails to a meal (that we never get to eat because our families don't like it but we love it)...maybe a spa for a while, maybe house hunting for my friend...lots of chatting, no worries about our phones going off or having to take off cause our husbands really want us to come and take care of our normal duties. Girl time. Us time. And me time. Thank you for the great idea!!!
Just watching was like doing "self-care" for ME, shopping, walking, etc... lol. thanks!!!! You motivated me to do the same very soon for myself, thx. Love your videos, thx for being you!!
not gonna lie, this made me open up my colouring book and pour a glass of wine, haha :) I've had a pretty rough week so this was exactly what i needed tonight!! thank you kati!
I really really love this video! It gives me ideas what I could include in taking care of myself. And yay for coloring!!! I have the same issue with 'I want it to be perfect', that's why I'm so happy to have a watercoloring book because watercolor is always beautiful and perfect to me no matter how it goes.
I just moved to Washington DC and my favorite self-care thing I started was putting all the names of the museums into a jar and pulling one out each week and going to that museum. It's perfect because it's routine-either on saturday or sunday, but it also has an element of surprise
Thank you, I'm going to do that. 🌸
Brynn McDonnell literally Washington DC is like the worst place to live. I’m pretty sure positive self talk is illegal. But the museums are amazing
That’s awesome! I used to live in Baltimore and commute to DC. There’s some gems there.
Lovely to see this side of you kati 🌈
Thanks!!
I'm not even half way through and I love this. I know it sounds weird but it actually really helps to see what self care literally looks like! More more! Lol
Yay!! I definitely will do more :) xoxo
Kati Morton you totally inspired me to take a self-care day today! I just took a long shower and has coffee, amazing lol. Think I might go buy a coloring book later ❤️.
Shawna Kay I use those for my anxiety. My aunt just gave me a Golden Girls coloring book. :)
i love you. self care is sooooo underrated. planning on taking a self care tomorrow because i desperately need it. so happy you were able to treat yourself babe!
Recovery Flower I love your channel!! I'm a subscriber
Yay!! So glad you plan self care days too :) xoxo

1:40 is the cutest expression "Its my day, I do what I like" Love it
Thank you for allowing us an insight into your mental health days. Looks as if you had a great day. You're such an inspiration. Thank you for reminding me it's OK to have mental health days. Lots of love xo
listen to me Kati... you NEED more vlogs. please. i LOVE this so much!!!
Awe yay!! Since everyone seems to like them I will definitely do more :) xoxo
thank you for posting this. i sit around and ruminate on how my life could be different, rather than implementing self-care
I hope this gave you some ideas of things you can do for yourself when you are having a hard time :) xoxo
I love the vlog!!! You're so cool, I wish all therapists were like you :)
on the money
Awe thanks!! I am so glad you enjoyed it :) xoxo
Watching this was surprisingly inspiring to me. I feel like the idea of self-care is never talked about and sometimes even frowned upon. I've been binge watching so many self care videos. It's one of the best things I've done for recovery. Thanks Kati!
I love how your hubby is your best friend, and yll do stuff together
loved this video. i love self care days - or "me days" i call them, having watched this i think im going to schedule one in for Sunday, this will be the second mothers day after loosing my mum, so i think a me day is probably the best way to spend it..
I think so too :) I hope this video helped you get some ideas of things you could do during this hard time. xoxo
We need a shopping with kati morton series!
Omg.. haha!! The truth is I don't really shop that much.. haha! So I wasn't even sure where to go in the store..lol! But we found the cozy clothes area pretty quick :) xoxo
Hmm my problem is that I do this too often when I need more of is meaningful friendships.
I have just discovered your channel and really want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. do more videos like this Kati
I definitely will!! Thanks for the feedback :) xxoo
Love how real and relatable this is.
Katie,
Thank you SO much for sharing this.
I actually love you two vlogging! It's amazing 😂😂 this was a really good reminder to have self care days, thanks again Kati ❤
Yay! I am so glad you enjoyed the video :) xoxo
That ending cracked me up😂😂😂❤
Maaike Lubbers me too!!!!
Good!! I thought it was too funny not to leave in! haah!! xoxo
Kati Morton I keep repeating it .. oops🙈😂 And great job at your first vlog😊😊 2 days to create.. that makes you a perfectionist. I love how you really put the effort in it and try your best for everyone that's watching 😊❤
Shawn has no chill. Thank you for all your videos, I'm learning so much about myself and the people around me!
Sean (Shawn?) is a patient man.
Love, a patient man who married a wonderful and patient woman ages ago.
Good going.
Kati, I really admire the work you put into your channel. I started my own channel a couple months ago on the same topics and you are an inspiration to us all! Keep up one of the most amazingly caring channel to help all of us with mental health issues!
You're so right about the ocean Katie..... It is a peaceful, calming place to be just to think and do some meditation!
😘 #selfcareftw
ur so normal - I thought you would be doing some high level calculus on ur self-care day routine or something in that arena.
hahah!! Not at all.. super normal and boring tbh :) haha!!! xoxo
Makes me feel like I belong to this world and see that my worries are not really a big deal after all. And it's really easy to do. Anyway, happy vlogging!
Hiking is my self care. I'll hike until my feet go numb and then I'll get a slice of pie and a coffee, drive home, and sleep for like 10 hours 😊
LOL at the ending!
I know right??!! Too funny! xoxo
Sean your a lucky guy!
this video is so nice, such a calming thing to watch in itself. I'm glad you had a nice day
I love this video Kati. I come back to it and feel great/better about realizing when I need to take a self care day or morning or whatever. ☺️ Awesome routine!
Ahhh this was so nice to watch! You're what I want to be when I grow up (even though I'm pretty sure we're the same age lol - I'm 33). Completely addicted to your videos!
this made me smile so much! loved it!
I never got the hang of colouring for relaxation. The part about not going outside the lines and choosing the "right" colour stresses me out in its own respect haha.
Ashley Ray I feel same so boring
I've never managed inside the lines, svribble all over them and release the rebel side 😁
I don't like the sound pencils make when they touch the paper :D
Use paint.
I am absolutely loving this new video! (Spoiler alert: I tend to (read: *always*) love your videos)
Yay!! I am so glad you liked it honey :) xoxo Thanks for being my feedback fairy ;)
haha you're very welcome, homie!
Eyebrows on fleek
Awe thanks!! xoxo
Watching Kati's videos totally comfort me, I really like her!
Yes!
I liked this you should totally do more. I actually found it relaxing to watch you relaxing!
LOVED this video, it was awesome cause switching things up is fun but also I like getting to you more as well!!
Yay! I am so glad you enjoyed it :) xxoo
I love you so so much Kati💕💕💕
I told my counsellor about you and she has recommended your videos to ALOT of her clients !!
But like seriously, words can't explain how much I love you xx
Okay I actually watched the end so many times😂😂❤️
Kati you're adorable! Thank you so much for all your mental health videos and for helping so many people, but I'm so glad you're taking some time for yourself also! Love to you and Sean.

I like seeing this side of you not just the professional side. Fun video.
You are awesome. I watch your videos everyday. You give me hope that i can be happy.

But my problem is that spending money (especially on things that aren't 100% necessary) stresses me out. How do you deal with stress from spending money on yourself? Thanks! P.S. Loved this video!
KATI, I’d love to see more of this kind of video! Very inspirational! 💗💫
I love this. I never thought of giving myself a self care day. You should do more of these vlog things!
I've been daily vlogging for a year and a half, but Kati's first vlog is still goals 😍
I didn't realise how much I needed this video until it was recommended to me
I think you should do a blog every week and nothing about a topic, but just a day in the life of Kati Morton and what she does besides making content!!! Love you Kati!!
Thanks for the feedback honey!! I will definitely be doing more :) xoxo
I liked this Katie. it is different from other vlogs cause it is really doable and believable. looking forward to seeing more of your vlogs.
This was probably one of my favorite videos that you have done!!!
Coloring is an awesome thing to do! I too love coloring! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I needed this video! Been pushing myself and blaming to keep on schedule even sick. Today it's my day off. Just decided.

Just watching was like doing "self-care" for ME, shopping, walking, etc... lol. thanks!!!! You motivated me to do the same very soon for myself, thx. Love your videos, thx for being you!!
thank you for this video, it distracts my a bit from my mental breakdown because of an allergic reaction to polysomnography stuff...
My estrogen level is soaring just listening to you plan your day. You are the most feminine lovely thing ever
Thank you very much, Kati!
The vlogs are a YES!!!! Loved this!!!!
not gonna lie, this made me open up my colouring book and pour a glass of wine, haha :) I've had a pretty rough week so this was exactly what i needed tonight!! thank you kati!
This was really good to watch! Much better than hearing theory about it
I really really love this video! It gives me ideas what I could include in taking care of myself. And yay for coloring!!! I have the same issue with 'I want it to be perfect', that's why I'm so happy to have a watercoloring book because watercolor is always beautiful and perfect to me no matter how it goes.
