    Thank you, I have a 2002 4x4 and just ordered both up and lower control arms complete as I don't have all the tools to remove/replace just easier I figured. Also inner outer tie rod, stabilizers, complete hub and bearings, should be good for another 380,000 km as as far as I can tell it's all stock parts still. Only one lower ball joint is loose but I thought it's all going to go soon anyway. I find my sport trac the most useful vehicle I have ever owned and I've owned sports cars, muscle cars, trucks, vans, compacts, sedan, even a station wagon which actually looked ugly as heck but was fun to drive. Thanks again buddy.

    The cross bolt that holds the upper ball joint in the knuckle on mine was weird. The bolt head was 16 but the nut was 17mm?

    I can’t get the lower ball joint off the knuckle.
    I see you just hitting it until it breaks off. Is that the key ? I was hitting it under the bolt with the nut and nothing . I even used the fork but busted the the rubber from the ball joint. Advise thanks

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you hit on the knuckle itself like in the video?

    • @200percentbrown
      @200percentbrown 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I didn’t I try to pry it and nothing. Im just scared I could damage the knuckle by hitting it. But I see you going at it and POP it out easy. Is that what I need to do ?

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes hit the knuckle on the side near where the ball joint runs through it. It'll shock it loose

    • @200percentbrown
      @200percentbrown 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will do that! Thanks. And ball joint do I need need top torque to press it or can i do by hand ?

      @@200percentbrown autozone will lend you the ball joint press if you leave a refundable deposit. Just do what he does on the video and you'll be fine.

    I may have missed it, what upper control arm did you use? I'm looking at different options and see MOOG and Mevotech but some bad reviews suggesting they don't last for more than 12k miles has me worried.

      I would go with moog. I've rarely had problems with that brand

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The upper ball joint is integrated to the upper control arm on yours if im not mistaken. The lower ball joint can be pressed out without replacing the whole lower control arm.

    Are you sure the camber kit was installed correctly? The washers should go between the cams. Inboard

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The instructions for this kit showed outboard and was able to align properly. Maybe other brand kits show inboard. God bless

    great video, I just have a question? I have a 2003 sport trac and I need to replace the upper control arm but mine look way different then the one your sport trac has... do I need to put a Camber kit too

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yours may have the 2 piece upper control arm, which is a caster adjustment. If you want to be able to to adjust camber also put the camber bolt kit while your already in there. Hope that answered your question. Please be sure to subscribe, much appreciated!

      @@JoseHernandez-ne1js After a great deal of research and some trial, I would highly recommend Green Grease. The Lucas Green Grease is fine but the other one which I think is just called Green Grease (sorry I'm too far away from a cartridge to see) and comes in a plastic cartridge, is much better.
