I worked a scallop boat on 3 day trips out of Barnegat Light, NJ years ago. I remember eating very well and having a blast. Hardest work I've ever enjoyed. Well done guys, stay safe out there. How much does halibut go for commercially per pound?
@@dustysageroutdoors Wish you youngsters could have seen the monsters we caught in Alaska in the 60's, 11 cents a pound, and the buyer didn't even want them. We had to shoot them several times, and couldn't get them aboard. We had to tow them, along side our boat. But this is a fun fishing video. As long as your having fun , that's my kind of fishing.
Good catch, that would be my dream Job,love the commercial fishing, but one thing is liking it,the other would be handling the amount of work that goes with it, especially the cleaning and felaying part.
Thought there were size minimums. Striking them with a club is the best you can do? If you're going to strike them, perhaps use a heavier club or stronger clubman - he needs to keep hitting them? Come on now.
Dusty Sager Outdoors - you're right, I know nothing about commercial fishing. Who do you think watches your videos, just your fellow fisherman? The guy striking the fish seemed to have found humor in the repeated strikes. Instead of replying defensively, perhaps educate those of us who took the time to watch your video and are not in the trade.
