im kicboxer from holland and we focus a lot on lowkicks. but got to say this is the best instruction ive seen for this technique. hope to see more vids!
This was so "simple" but amazing! There's a saying where I come from that: "genius lies in the simple" and I think it's true here. It's awesome to see how much wisdom there is put into this and high level stuff explained in a simple manner
Only heard about you because you were on the JRE podcast, but after that I looked at a few of your fights. Who better to teach the low kick than you, you make masterful use of the low kick in your fights.
There are tens of elite thai that can low kick hard. Ramon dekkers and sitmonchai are famous low kickers. Same with takeda kozo. Apparently takeda kozo has the hardest low kick of all time. No one sets it up as well as bazooka joe. He is also the only person who does a no turning low kick.
He is deceptively big. His legs are solid and the ways he can kick your leg is incredible. He is the only guy that I have seen use them defensively and offensively with high percentage accuracy. He is so confident without arrogance.
I loved watching Joseph fight, and his fight against Nieky Holzken is one of my all-time favorite fights in all of combat sports. Sucks that he had to retire due to concussion symptoms, but it's great to know that he continues to be an ambassador for Muay Thai in North America. And he's a hell of a commentator as well! He really knows what he's talking about.
I agree! Shit concussion symptoms? I didn't know that,. I was always wondering that if he was gonna fight anytime, but hey as long as he is happy and healthy, I am glad cuz he paid his dues hard and well!
Won't lie. This is the best instructional video I've found on the subject to improve my low kicks. Technical, pragmatic and from someone who's actually used it professionally to win fights.
Great technique man. Your one of my favorite kickboxers on glory promotion. I hope you get better and fight nieky holzkhen again. I think you can beat him. Thanks for the video, I'll try it tonight at practice
Extremely useful and very well explained! Thank you for sharing this with us, Joe! 🙏 It makes me sorry, that I did not get involved in kickboxing earlier in my life...
This is amazing tips. One thing I’ve tended to notice with almost every tip type video tho is they only use the one stance. Orthodox mostly. I think it’s super important to learn to fight in both stances. I’m a righty naturally, but southpaw just seems like I have better defensive skills, plus I can really smash my rear leg now. I’m no one at all to criticize bazooka Joe. But it’s something that I just realized. Thanks Joe for the great info. People would normally have to pay to get information like this
This is some hiiiigh level shit man. Joseph and other Glory fighters should be making so much money... i really hope the WEC promote glory the way it should be!
Used this some of this stuff in sparring. When you use leg kicks like this you can rally tell that your opponent is affected way more than if you don't time it right.
Many would be fortunate to watch this video and gain insight ,let alone the opportunity to train with you.Wonderful video, keep it coming!Peace and LoveStrength and HonorKru Samir Sandman Seif
Mr. Valtellini, thank you for this very nice, very informative video. Awesome stuff, good to see kickboxing and Muay Thai making strides in the North Americas (some serious talent in Canada, like yourself, Simon Marcus, Josh Jauncey and others). Are you planning on coming back into the ring at the Glory World Series? I know you're enjoying your role as a color-commentator for Glory, but as a kickboxing fan I'd love to see you fight Nieky Holzken again and I'm sure I'm not the only one ;). The fight you had with Nieky at Glory 13 was probably the best kickboxing match I've ever seen (and I've seen alot of fights). If anyone here hasn't seen that fight yet, I highly recommend you look it up, truly awesome fight and the perfect example of what kickboxing is all about! Greetings and much love from The Netherlands. P.S: Yes, I'm a huge Nieky Holzken fan, I'll happily admit that. But I'd like to think I can spot a talented fighter when I see one, and you Sir, are a real fighter! Consider yourself liked and sub'd :)
well honestly its been around for years two o the greatest kickboxers who also beat Thai fighters were Americans that started in the late 70s and dominated the 80s its just that most of the USA followed the dumb old PKA rules serious stupid part on the originaters for that and those guys were the ones marketing it and not kickboxers who fought by international rules and because you guys don't know look up Benny Urquidez and Peter Cunningham
I've been implementing these techniques into sparring, however due to some of these techniques not stepping to the side/getting of the centre line I sometimes get caught from their forward pressure and strikes. I see your hands are up when you perform the fast low kick with no angle change, is there anything I can do to help prevent getting countered with hands? Or if the opponent has that said aggressive style would this technique be less effective (Or would changing angle be better off)?
How would you practice the drill for a southpaw stance? I am southpaw and I have a hard time giving out low kicks with my rear leg, since their rear leg is far away and only inside low kicks are possible on the front leg...
how's your head joe? I had a similar situation a year ago from a sparring session and javemt been back in the ring since. is there anything you did that helped?
AJ, if you are not a pro and you do not make money with it, your health is not worth the risk. Why get back in there? I used to be an amateur kickboxer, I remember having headaches up to three days after hard sparring with a pro. It is just now worth it, if you have other plans with your life.
Great video like low kick going back, one thing I don't understand is why does no one ever attack ankle with low kick I've seen few fights UFC where guys got hit with low kick ankle they could hardly walk afterwards
Did you ever worry about kicking the knee. I wonder how those unfortunate fighters got thier shins broken even after throwing low kicks for so long . Is there a specific way you train to avoid running your shin into a knee

ben peng how did the takeda kozo having the hardest low kick of all time concept come into being was there a test or something? I'm confused by that

I hope someone tells him about the magnet therapy that Zingano is benefiting from might be worth a shot
Joe's retirement was a blessing for the rest of us. More videos 👊
Won't lie. This is the best instructional video I've found on the subject to improve my low kicks. Technical, pragmatic and from someone who's actually used it professionally to win fights.

Aj Yantes .. Hey Aj.. You can listen to joe rogan podcast where JV talks about talking cbd oil to recover from concussions
AJ, if you are not a pro and you do not make money with it, your health is not worth the risk. Why get back in there? I used to be an amateur kickboxer, I remember having headaches up to three days after hard sparring with a pro. It is just now worth it, if you have other plans with your life.
Are you not allowed to check kicks in Glory?
ofc you are
Great video like low kick going back, one thing I don't understand is why does no one ever attack ankle with low kick I've seen few fights UFC where guys got hit with low kick ankle they could hardly walk afterwards
James Miles you mean calf kicks. Calf kicks are very effective.
A new techniques thats proven extremly effective in MMA is the low calf kick, that calf cant take many kicks before you cant stand anymore :D
💯
ive never been low kicked by someone who can actually kick. I can only imagine what it would feel like gettin kicked by joe
Joe Rogan brought me here 😁
👍👍👍
Did you ever worry about kicking the knee. I wonder how those unfortunate fighters got thier shins broken even after throwing low kicks for so long . Is there a specific way you train to avoid running your shin into a knee
