  • Raspberry Pi just launched the High-Quality camera module with SONY IMX477 that is capable of giving 12.3 MP of pictures. This video demonstrates the use of the HQ camera and mounting the 6mm wide angle or macro lens, and connect the camera to Raspberry Pi 4 Model B computer, run the commands to adjust aperture and focus of the lens. Take a picture and video with it.
    The sample pictures and videos are in Google Drive:

    Oh nice! Removing the adapter fixed my focus issue! I wish this were...clearer? Like, in the directions or whatnot? It doesn't make a lot of sense, intuitively. The lenses that I bought weren't marked "C" or "CS" so although "everyone" (but me) knows which is which, it's hard to tell. Thanks again!

    It's nice but the PCB is exposed to the elements when you set it up for use. That can't be good.

    • @stephentrenta3514
      @stephentrenta3514 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      TLDR; it's totally fine for its intended use - setup indoors without moving it frequently.
      Similar to the Raspberry Pi itself, the idea is that it can be mounted in an assortment of enclosures based on the needs of the user. For light indoor use, an enclosure shouldn't really be needed (unless you plan on handling the camera a lot, which I can't see anyone doing since the camera is already tethered to the Pi with a fragile ribbon cable). I'm sure you could make an enclosure for outdoor use, but that's not really the intended use of this camera module or its lenses (they would likely suffer from moisture damage due to fluctuating temperatures outside).
