Hi men, my firt and current bike is a honda cbr600 2008, literaly my childhood dream, i got it this year beeing 29, buying this bike has being the best thing i have ever done
You picked a great bike. Timeless looks. Performance is just as good as any modern 600 if not better, it came out it was jaw dropping. I had an 07RR after my 03 GSXR1000 which was my 1st streetbike but I rode dirtbikes my entire childhood up to a 650. I loved my Honda. If you really wanna do a mod that you'll really feel do a 520 chain sprocket conversion with -1,+2. You'll lose a little top end but the acceleration will feel ballistic. I guarantee you'll love it. Oh and I did 400mile rides in a day no problem with my RR. Ride safe...good luck with your new bike.
Appreciate the love and checking out the video! I love my RR as well! Was considering the sprocket change. Any idea how much about top end mph you lose?
@illusiversx NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. Maybe 10mph. But your gonna accelerate so much faster and get into the higher revs almost immediately. You'll need to be easier on the throttle as specially 1st and 2nd gear the wheel is gonna lift right up. Your gonna need a speedo healer too because not only will the speedometer be off but it will rack more miles than your actually doing and you can't reverse that. I love 600RR's!!! You should wait until your completely comfortable with the bike before doing this mod. You will keep up with liter bikes until you hit redline in 6th gear. 150 something mph. Then that's when they'll leave you in the dust. And you might take them off the line at a greenlight! There's alot of ways to get more speed and performance but the 520 conversion is by far the most drastic change you can make 👍 Trust me I had 18 grand invested in my RR before it got stolen and they wanted it so bad they broke through my garage door and grinded off a kryptonite chain and cable to get it. I had everything done to that bike over a 3yr period. Then I got an S1000RR and I'm on my 2nd one and a Bandit 1250 streetfighter that is a never ending project. I've been obsessed since a kid when the Honda F3 Hurricane came out. I'm very disappointed in the direction motorcycling has taken with these parallel twins with crap everything but electronic tech. That's not what a true enthusiast is after. It's the freedom and the thrill!!!! You picked a great 1st bike kiddo.

it is a must ,smart & mandatory to start learning how to drive & navigate on a much smaller ,light and low cc motorcycle...not because you won"t stall it and know how to go through gears that you'll how to drive a motorcycle...especially braking phases..insertion in heavy traffic...be prepare to hit the ground anyway..it is not IF..it"s when..!!
Just recently got a 2005 cbr600rr and absolutely love it. The early 00s bikes were so good before loads of emissions crap started chocking newer bikes!
dad took me on rides on his 2006 cbr1000rr when i was like 5 years old to 10. just bought my first "street legal" bike a 2007 cbr600rr (ridden a 2016 crf 150 mostly and a 2020 crf250l for speed on highway and street and construction sites) love it so far other than the excessive engine braking i like to slow down via revmatch downshifting and front brake. have my permit test in 5 days ridden it around a bit and just need to tune in some gas when letting go of throttle for more comfy town riding. other than the excessive engine braking, small bike 6 foot 5, and dookie clutch im replacing this week its amazing. cant wait to hit over 100 mph. taking it slow but my ability to ride up to 80 mph id say is pretty uch high level intermediate. been practicing trail riding slow speed maneuvers etc since i was 10 years old on little 85s 125s etc. that 600 inline 4 zoom is NUTTY. since hes ridden my bike hes about to buy a 2025 cbr 1000rrr sp. cant wait to ride that eventually
i had a cbr f4 for 2 years.bought it crashed for 800 rebuilt from the ground up with extra 700 and kept it for 2 years..awesome bike...just upgraded to 2007 cbr 1000rr with several mods done to it to dyno 180hp...ridicilous power...600rr i think is the perfect bike if youre a beginner trying to get into sport bikes and if you like the twisties.
Once you've been riding for awhile, you'll realise "stats" having zero influence over choosing and riding a bike. An experience rider will leave you behind on a 400cc arond twisties. You did mention, but yes 💯 depends on personal preference and circumstances. All the bikes are as good as each other. Have fun swapping for different brands and types of bikes. Welcome to the 2 wheel fam :) Ps. Don't need to improve bhp, but a steering damper is a must.
Thanks for the kind words. Really new to riding and I agree 100%. I don't think I'll ever be able to utilize the 600rr to its fullest potential. There are a lot of crazy talented riders and it's amazing to see how they can handle the track. I plan on doing a few track days next year just to push the bike safely. Appreciate you checking the channel out man 🙏
I get where you’re coming from. This is really hard advice to give. But for somebody that wants something to hang onto and just run up to the grocery store and back or piddle fart around town I have a Suzuki DRZ 400 SM I love that bike then I moved onto the 600 but if you got money for a 600 I see what you’re saying go for it, they’re cheap and maintain and a hell of a lot of fun
I feel like it's a good middle of the road. Regardless what I say people would still buy 300s, 400s or even 1000s. Which is fine but with a 600 you still have a lot of power to get used to for a few years and it gives you a better transition into a liter if that's something you want in the future
I’ve never rode a motorcycle in my life. About 5 days ago Aug 3rd 2024 I went and bought and 2024 Honda CBR600RR and learned how to drive it over the weekend. I know …Im an idiot but to my defense it didn’t make sense for me to buy a used 5k starter bike r3 or 400 and waste that money knowing I was going to have to upgrade as soon as I felt comfortable. All in all I love my new bike and soon I’ll take a riding course and perfect my riding . But yeah -2024 cbr600 is my first bike ever 😂😂 🤣🤣

4.min 26 seconds becareful thats how the rear comes around with no TCS you got lucky there she was about to give you a slap. 05 RR owner here Big difference and most importantly is the braking with the bigger bikes It can catch you out big time Learn to use front and rear brake simultaneously while gearing down Engine brake is awesome on these use it to your benefit
I've gotten a few good tank slaps on this thing thankfully not going very fast. Usually when it happens it's because I'm being dumb and gassing it on tar strips. Plus my front forks are shot so that doesn't help me any. I should probably be more careful but I push the bike pretty hard on the street. Yolo am I right🤣
Just got an 06' 600rr everything runs great except the front harness for the headlights an front turn signals is a rats nest an nothing is plugged in all the wires just ziptied an bundled up together, ive got the manual with the wiring schematics just haven't had the time to fix it yet. Only paid $1k w/36k miles on it. It still rips an engine runs like a top.
Thats great man! Unfortunately a lot of people really destroy the wiring on these. I had to replace the whole front headlight harness with the turn signals and its only a $60 part from honda. Definitely worth it and recommend getting that!

Started on a 600RR myself and switched to the R6 after a few months. Just out of curiosity. I really fell in love with the way the R6 handles. what is the American 'program' to obtain a motorcycle driving licence above 125 cc..??..(number of mandatory lessons ,specific low speed exercise exam ,rules of road classes exam and price..??
There are 2 ways that I am aware of to get your bike license in america. 1) you sign up for your Temps which is very similar to how u get your actual drivers license. You can renew it a few times and it lasts 6 months I believe. After your Temps expire you are able to take some sort of test to deem you worthy of your bike license. 2) You take a designated MSF course and at the end of the weekend long course, (hands on and textbook lessons) you take a test scored by the riding instructors. If you pass u get your license. I chose option 2 as I've never touched a motorcycle before. That's also what most people choose to do as it's the most safe and smart option to get into riding. Hope this helps
A 600 ain't much of a difference from a 1000 the 1000s is about 38 mph more than a 600 which is about 198 mph. That's not a big number difference. The only thing 1000s has more torque and HP.
Yeah I did notice these are priced pretty high similar to r6's but honestly these are work horses and reliable as hell for how much abuse they can take
So, I'm looking into getting a bike for first time, and the one I'm looking at is an 06 rr, and I came on looking to see hkw people like jt, and it seems alot of you guys got it for first bike. I've done dirtbikes when younger, been over 15 years though, haha. My question was going to be about whays opinions on this as a first bike? It's too good of a deal to pass up as is, haha
My opinion (pretty biased I may add): it's a great starter bike screw everyone who says a 600cc can't be a starter bike. This bike can be a starter bike and your forever bike. My 600rr has been a dream for how much I abuse it and ride it hard as hell. I just can't get over how good this generation of cbr looks
I'm 5'3-5'4ish, 145 lbs all muscle. I still get intimidated when I sit on my friend's 600rr. Same year as yours. I have no idea why it feels so damn heavy? I've ridden a CBR650r, the new 2023 version and it still feels lighter for some reason to just sit up on it. Kinda weird.
Intimidated by how heavy the bike is or just not being able to touch the ground. I'll tell you the weight of the bike is something I got used to very early on I'd say about 2 weeks of ownership. Plus if ur all muscle you will have no muscle pushing it around. (I have spaghetti noodle arms😂)
@@illusiversx it’s probably due to the fact that I can’t reach the ground lol, on the newer bike I can though. Probably some personal ergonomic issue I have with the new bike being less aggressive on the seating. Idk I could be trippin
Seeing as how u said u were too short for the 04 600rr and fine on the 650r confuses me because realistically they probably have a similar seat height. I would look into it tho and see the seat height for each bike as it's all accessible info. Personally being 5' 6" basically 5' 7", I knew right away I wasn't going to be comfortable on it. But that is the beauty of bikes so I lowered it 3 inches and never looked back. I never question myself on it anymore. If lowering your bike would be something that interests you I made a video on it check it out. I made it about 3 months ago
Wait... So you're telling me that this sports bike goes 0-100 in the same amount of time as Yamaha Tenere 700, which is a big, heavy 220kg adventure/offroad bike?!?! I don't understand motorcycles man... I have no fucking idea what to get as my first bike now... This shit is way too confusing for me.
Honestly these bikes are Damm near bulletproof. Like yes "low" miles is always better but personally I found it to be a better deal and better outcome sometimes buying a well maintained high mileage vehicle. Like yes the more miles the more worn everything is but these engines are really well made. Mine currently has 48k miles and runs amazing. Personally I wouldn't tell someone to only buy a bike with 20k miles or less because it all depends how the previous owner maintained it. A 100k mile bike with good maintenance can run better than one with 10k miles and little to no maintenance. Just my opinion
I’d love to start on a cbr 600 but everyone around me and a couple experienced riders tell me it’s a terrible idea, thoughts?(I have zero experience with motorcycles)
It's not THE BEST starter bike has many people have mentioned. Really do your research and look up whether a 600 is right for you. (Height & power) I personally never had a problem with mine but I was able to have a lot of self control and respect the power of it early on. I hope you make a good choice and are able to have the best riding experience. Have a good one man🫡
@@illusiversx thanks for the reply man I’m 5’5 150lbs but I think I’ll take it slow for now and go with an r3😅 Cbr 600 definitely gonna be my second for sure! Stay safe man!
Also depends on weight I've seen as well. A buddy of mine is only an inch or 2 taller than me but can flat foot my bike because he weighs more and actually puts pressure on the suspension when he sits down. When I sit down the suspension isn't even compressed 😂
Honestly a 600 is way too much for the average beginner. Sure the chill low rpms are fine but as soon as you start hitting the higher range and get that rush…you never really slow down again. I wish you luck on your bike, you’re probably fine but don’t forget to practice the basics a lot
That's basically what makes a 600 safer. There's not much torque in low rpm which is the main reason a lot of people get In accidents over doing it on the 1000's. Not saying this bike is perfect for anyone. A lot of people would benefit more with starting on something like a 300 or 400 no doubt. Just the way it worked for me I had no problem with the 600.
@@illusiversx that’s also what makes it less safe. People don’t learn the basics that you would on a small displacement bike and go straight for speed.
going for my first proper bike after riding a yamaha ybr for 6 months, found a 2013 in the Repsol racing colours and just secured it :D waiting for delivery
I'm more leaning towards the 2007+ r6s, but I do like the 2007+ cbr600s, tho I'm kind of indifferent towards this previous version, I think the cbr1000r with this styling hit it off better. Overall I hope to get an r6 when I'll be able to get the unrestricted license here in europe at 24, because I couldn't get the A2 license when I was 18 because of covid, and have put it off for the last 4 years because of uni and now that I technically could go for the A2 and get a 45hp max bike, it just wouldn't matter, I'd still have to wait 2 years and by that time I can go directly to A because of age without having A2 and it would mean I'd have wasted money right now getting the A2. I fucking hate it, they should have made it so you could get the A without A2 at 20, not 24. I've wanted to get a bike since I was 17, now I'm just going to keep postponing it and by the time I can get a license I won't be able to get a bike I want, the eu gov might implement euro 6 for bikes or something and kill off basically anything with more than 3 cylinders and all second hand shit will explode in price or something and bam, dream gone down the drain, like always, I hate it.
I'm personally the opposite. I think the 600s look better the 1000s. Everyone has there preference but if it has an undertail exhaust I'm all about it. I have heard about Europe with all your emission laws as well as strict rules. Hopefully if you think of it this way, it helps keep people who are irresponsible off the road? The US has a problem with that
@@illusiversx yeah, I like undertail exhaust too especially the cbr600, the second gen all around to be exact looks amazing, like to explain better, I think the second gen cbr600rr looks the best out of all the cbrs, than the 04 to 05 cbr1000rr and than the first gen cbr600rr. I also think the new cbr1000rrr and cbr600r look good, but I can't really compare them to these older ones because they're decades apart and the in between models just didn't hit it off design wise Imo and it never felt like the designs evolved like how it has for different brands, especially kawasaki. Anyways, when it comes to the eu license, I think they're great and they do help people not get themselves plastered on the road, especially when you consider how much better the teaching is. But it sucks when it directly affects me but I guess it's just my fault and I'll just accept it and just search for a more conservative bike when I finally do get my license and hope I end up with something I like, maybe a new rc390 or an older sv650.
@@illusiversx well they're both in the same price range here in Morocco. I been doing my research for weeks and i found that the cbr is more comfy and the r6 has better performance overall. So as a beginner, which one could you recommend? And ty for the reply😊
I've never been on an r6 but I've been told the power curve is very similar on both bikes so probably wouldn't be any easier to learn on either or. Hopefully someone with input from both bikes could respond.
Hey @Illusive , Can you help a brother out, I've settle on a 600 as first bike and I found a local listing for an 04 CBR600F4I w/ 10K miles for $5K. Do you think its too High or Reasonably Price? What year should I look for if I want a CBR600RR?
The F4I are really good bikes as well but if your looking for a 600rr a reasonable price would be anywhere from 2500-4000 depending on where you live and condition. Especially for a first bike don't splurge. Best years for 600rr are the 07 but I'm a bigger fan of the 03-04
At some point a 600 becomes a small bike for most but I feel it's a lot of power to have for multiple years. A lot of people who jump to 1ks after 300 or 400s don't get to appreciate the 600 power
A 300 is fine. My bike is a 2014 Ninja 300 with no technology on it. Plenty fast for the starter phase. Also keeping it for my wife when she gets through her course. Plus a 300 is great in the twisties and lets you run the gears more.
I agree I would never say you should NEVER get a 300 I just personally wouldn't. There very cheap and I'm sure there a lot of fun. Just personally the 600rr was great for me. Glad to hear the 300 has been good to you. Safe riding man!🔥
All depends on condition and who owned it. These bikes are stupid reliable and have had so many that have been way over 100k miles. If I know who owned it and they took care of it I'd buy an 600rr no matter what the Miles say
600cc is a perfect biginner bike, slow and mellow at low rpms, capable up top, just don't go that high in the rpms if you don't feel like it. they are lightweight, breaks are awesome. I myself bought 500 for my first bike sold it within 2 months, than bought a 600 happiest man I've ever been on this bike.
I agree man. Although it lacks in the low rpm power wise it makes it a lot safer for beginner riders who don't know how much throttle to give in corners. Super happy with my choice. What 600 did u buy?
A 600 ain't much of a difference from a 1000 the 1000s is about 38 mph more than a 600 which is about 198 mph. That's not a big number difference. The only thing 1000s has more torque and HP.
So far everyone I've talked to either have sayed it was a terrible choice starting on a 600 because it's too much or were thinking i shouldn't be on a bike at all😂. The 600rr and an r6 are damn near the same bike and have been alluded to be a very good starter bike
@@illusiversx yeah as a British person and being 16 I have to be on a 50 till I’m 17 so I’m buying a yzfr125 at the moment, but I can agree that 600cc bikes are definitely good starter bikes and they still have the power to get you into a little bit of trouple
I will say, not that it's an excuse, but the go pro footage is deceiving and may look like I'm going faster/slower at times. As far as accelerating early on turns that's relative to everything. I won't call myself a "professional" rider as I just started out a year ago but I don't see how having a smaller bike would help any of this. Owning a bike is all about knowing your limits and self control. Compared to a lot of other riders I feel I have a lot of self control. I do my best to not ride like an asshole all the time but if I said I don't at times I'd be lieing as we all do. I appreciate you pointing it out tho because once you get more comfortable on a bike you definitely overlook how dangerous it really is.

Don't get too nervous just go through the motions. It's a pretty easy bike to learn. Just be careful it's easy to get in trouble on these
Hell yeah man also buying an 03 this weekend with 40k miles really exited.
Sweet man lmk how it goes!
Probably my favourite bike of all time; the mid 00s to early 2010 Supersports were so special
Agreed 🔥
Dude Im 45 now and sold it a long time ago but I bought a black and gray 04 600RR brand new in crate. What a magnificent bike that was. I have a 23 Benelli TNT135 now lol. Take it to the park and gym and stuff like that.
I also have a 16 CRZ 6sp manual which is how I ended up catching your channel
That's awesome, dude! I really love my cbr and crz's. Thats cool as hell you got one brand new!
2012 CBR 600RR here. I love the CBR600RR, they are the sweet spot of street motorcycles.
I agree man. Looks alone are unmatched 🤟
Helps a lot man, I’m 5’6 150 and height has been my main concern for a bike and you answered all my questions
You might b able to tippy toe it. I’m 5’7 and I can tippy toe it w/ both feet. It’s a pretty tall bike.
it is a must ,smart & mandatory to start learning how to drive & navigate on a much smaller ,light and low cc motorcycle...not because you won"t stall it and know how to go through gears that you'll how to drive a motorcycle...especially braking phases..insertion in heavy traffic...be prepare to hit the ground anyway..it is not IF..it"s when..!!
I agree man. Ride to learn and never get too comfortable
Black 03 was my first. 5’8 feet planted. I’d only recommend a steering stabilizer for the older bikes.
Welcome to the 2 wheel fam :)
Ps.
Appreciate you checking the channel out man 🙏
A Honda man !!! I already like you! Subscribed!!!
I like how u think🤟
Just bought a 2003 haven’t ridden it yet but it’s in the garage
First bike?
Found a 05 with 6k miles, about to cop, used to have a 2006 with 35k miles without a single issue
After watching this video i'm getting more and more convinced of getting myself the ducati 1198s as the starter bike. Though being 6"3 and 187 shouldn't be an issue.😂
Cheers from Italy 🤘🤘
You better should take an hayabusa with a turbo and a nos system on it. 1098 is sooo slow...

Ha it was also my first bike in 2004 as a young Marine. The Marine Corps required us to take the MSR course and that was honestly really good. Many years later I now ride a DRZ400SM but I miss the RR.
Hell yeah man thanks for your service! I definitely would miss the quirks of my RR if I sold it
Found a 2011 cbr600rr with 8k miles in great condition for 7k usd can’t seem to find a better one so it’s very tempting and it has a yoshi exhaust 😮

Big difference and most importantly is the braking with the bigger bikes
It can catch you out big time
Learn to use front and rear brake simultaneously while gearing down
Engine brake is awesome on these use it to your benefit
@@illusiversx guess i shoul have looked into that, $60 is alot cheaper than all the time I'd be spending on fixing that rats nest. Thanks, so its OEM straight from Honda? Front harness? I know the main harness you can only buy salvaged.
Yes brand new harness from honda. I just checked and it's actually $80 not $60, my bad. Still worth it tho: www.ebay.com/itm/164939026845?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=uhRsTnSXS9y&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=z1GBZ0AyToa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Started on a 600RR myself and switched to the R6 after a few months. Just out of curiosity. I really fell in love with the way the R6 handles. The 600RR felt a bit agricultural at times, while the R6 is more finesse in my opinion. That being said, I sold the R6 last year and thinking about buying a RC37 600RR again. what is the American 'program' to obtain a motorcycle driving licence above 125 cc..??..(number of mandatory lessons ,specific low speed exercise exam ,rules of road classes exam and price..??
Hope this helps
nice video.. ty And nice bike

My 1st bike was a 06 cbr600rr. Everyone is different and I thought it was a perfect beginner bike 😅
I think it's a good bike just would think something smaller would be better to start on then work your way up to a 600cc
I’m wondering how is it going so far? Was it the right choice for you as a beginner? Would you rather had a smaller one as beginner?
@@yasirsherzad5338I wish i still had it but I sold it. That was 8 years ago. Now I'm on the 1000 and its kind of scary 😆

Is that a quick shifter you have on it? I noticed you're not really letting the clutch out slowly, or is it really just that easy _not_ to stall?
No quick shifter. Just like a car you let the clutch out to the bite point then after that you don't have to go slow.
Looking to buy one of these. What miles should I be looking for on one? Don’t wanna buy a lemon for my first personal bike
Awesome bike. Hondas rule. Be safe.
Agreed man! Thanks for checking out the video!
I really liked R6s until I sat on one the the seat is way to wide for me and I’m not even short I can flat foot it
Also depends on weight I've seen as well.

U bought it at we buy cars?
@aupamosia1506 nope, found on auto trader from a dealer in manchester uk. Been riding her for about 3000 miles and couldn't be happier

The F4I are really good bikes as well but if your looking for a 600rr a reasonable price would be anywhere from 2500-4000 depending on where you live and condition. Especially for a first bike don't splurge. Best years for 600rr are the 07 but I'm a bigger fan of the 03-04

What makes you say this?
@@illusiversx Dude, accelerating way too early on turns, over road lines, wet pavement, rushing into turning vehicles, and so f. on bro.
There’s no logic behind your statement. Getting a smaller bike won’t make a difference.
@@mocountymade really? ok sure.
