have to find the whole documentary, this was just short. I traveled to Central Mongolia last month and visited the Nomads, saw the wild horses.... it is a spectacular country, with beautiful people!
The creator or God will smile on Mongolia above all other nations and countries. They truly are good people, and have the right idea on life religion, and the world around them.
Hope you enjoy this adventure as much as have again, thanks 👍 to facebook honoring Julia Roberts birthday today, I remembered this wonderful film, I am healing from a closed mind , now I view this actress ,in high respect for this wonderful adventure you took us on, again happy birthday Julia Roberts, and all the best
I remember watching this on PBS. I always wondered why she didn't have a translator and how much actually happened as showed. I know it's PBS but I imagine she had some help. Would love to see behind the scenes!

Julia Roberts is amazing. It is not only the she is super star. Her this documentary video shows things even mongolians don't know and don't feel and may thing never concern. She can see more i don't maybe i don't want to see bz ignorant or stupid maybe too little .When visited nomadic house our tradition supposed to touch dish.I was little kid and don't want i feel dad without look him and his mad on me without word or without his sight i touched to it eventually as my dad want.Something sour i pit on my mouth .But now in USA i love it ask it from my mother sour sour sour please
Well, he's just asking how she feels when she comes to the countryside in Mongolia and saying that there is another Ger on the right side of this Ger, she will be sleeping in there. And he also talks about his kids or something.
Mongolia is a lot bigger and updated now, we have louis vutton, new hotels and everything. But then again this documentary was filmed in 1999 so back then it was still a little different
hmoob: if there is a law on this, it isn't all that enforced. I'd be surprised to see a guy riding like that in downtown UB, but a few blocks from there people pasture their cows in a riverbed under the main boulevard of the city. And in Erdenet, 2/3rd city, people ride like that in town.
No julia roberts. The original cowboys are European races. They are the 1 who introduced horse culture to Mongolia and whole of the world. Read Wikipedia.
@Riverlette- -Riverlette to have animal native to that particular continent or country doesn't mean that they should know there use. Horses existed everywhere. But it was the European races of indo European people who first domesticated horses and spread to the whole world the horse riding culture through conquest.
Lkhagwa Lkhagwadorj Yes , I live in China , i know very well how the Chinese communist party treat religious people , as long as you are just religious not politically rebellion , they don't care . Except in the culture revolution of course , in that holocaust , everybody was persecuted , except bad ppl .
Julia Roberts, if you are so smart and humanitarian or worries about human rights you should visit the homeless at least in New York, visit the native of your country living in miserable conditions in reservations. If you are interested about Gengis Khan watch the excellent Russian/Mongolian film of Gengis Khan. Some American have the annoying habit when they are visiting other country to criticize them of one way or another.

@Riverlette- -Riverlette read the whole history of domestication of horse. Not with incomplete knowledge.

Communist is a paranoid system. Don't defend your nonsense here. China don't even permit TH-cam, Google, Facebook.
