Gotta love that Charlie is just so deeply unnerved by everything Lucifer does But she’s fully fine with ALASTOR calling her his daughter out of nowhere
Because Lucifer is trying to give her material things (that she likely doesn't care about or can get herself) after denying Charlie a meeting with heaven, while Alastor is supporting her vision
I'll never get over Lucifer basically said "you're about to catch these hands" with an accordion 😂 Alastor has been my fave since the pilot but oh man, Lucifer is such a freaking fun character. I'm living for his goofy dad vibe who just wants to do right by his kid.
Alastor is experiencing a certain level of immunity. He knows if Lucifer lays a violent hand on him right now, Charlie is upset. And of course, being Alastor, he is MILKING IT.
@kirito2016 sorry to be that guy but fiddles and violins are the same instrument, the only difference is the style of music played. And it's clearly a "devil went down to georgia" reference. As in "I bet a fiddle of gold, against your soul, ..."
I just love how Alastor and Lucifer fights. Like in Alastor’s first part he just treats Charlie like a daughter, and Lucifer turns angry. And then they proceed to have a magnificent musical conundrum of two demons yelling at each other XD
I'm *SO in LOVE with Lucifer right now.* The way he *sings* & how *SUPPORTIVE* he is towards *Charlie DREAMS* even if it seemed *impossible to achieve* but he has *Faith* in her *Determination.*
Seems like the opposite of what's shown here. He's supportive in the easy ways that don't matter much to her or to him. He can easily give her any amount of material support. But when it comes to directly supporting her vision, he's notably reluctant. Alastor, despite doing things out of "boredom", reinforces how he matters more to Charlie in the ways that she cares about. He'll support her vision, even if he personally finds it absurd or if it's for his own selfish reasons, and he'll do so by being consistently present even for the unpleasant day-to-day work. He understands Charlie better and capitalizes on her values during his parts, which infuriates Lucifer but is also the crux of the episode.
@@kylehahn4410 nope, Lucifer is the one who genuinely cares. He wasn't a best dad, but he learned. And in the end he come to really support her. Alastor, on the other hand, isn't there out care for Charlie or her idea at all. He wants something from her. He has some ulterior motives.
@@windygrass9807 I agree that Lucifer genuinely cares, and Alastor's just being manipulative. But Lucifer was only able to show Charlie he cared on a shallow material level, because deep down he wants her to give up on this project. Alastor, on the other hand, knew Charlie well enough to play up the fact that he's "all in" on her project and focus on the emotional support he brings rather than the material (because he's manipulative and knows that's what Charlie really values). All to say, it's because Lucifer cares for Charlie that he couldn't be emotionally supportive towards a project he viewed as her downfall, and it's because Alastor doesn't care that he's more than willing to help push Charlie closer to that presumed cliff.
Alastor trying to steal the song, shows how threatened he is. Lucifer comes in promising Charlie everything, so Alastor has to remind her that he's been here since the beginning, loyal, and still useful. You also see it when Lucifer is doing his Violin solo, walking towards him, for a second right before transitions to him on the piano, Alastor actually takes a step back.
