Thanks for the trip down memory lane. I used to live at Newton Hall Children's Home and used to go to Frodsham secondary school. We used to go cross country running with school on the lot of the paths you shown. Used to go scrumping pears in the vicarage and drinking beer from the barrels outside the pub. :-) I was also an army cadet in the building you shown and can even remember going on the helter skelter on Frodsham hill. Also playing in the caves nearby. On a sad note... later my best friend was murdered at the home... and tied to a tree with barb wire. 😞 not many people talk about the Children's Home in Frodsham..
Have only recently discovered your channel Kieran. I was born in Warrington and emigrated to Perth Western Australia in February 1970 at the age of 14. Both my parents were born in Latchford, as were both sets of grandparents. 'Kingsway South on my dad's side and Reynolds road on mums. Love what you are doing, and always look forward to your next Bimble, round the Warrington area
Loved Frodsham. I used to cycle over there when I was a teenager and go to the top of Helsby Hill. It had a helter skelter on the top and also a load of penny slot machines. I suppose there's nothing left now
Brilliant Keiran. You just missed mentioning the house at the top of the hill once owned by the Getty family which was also the home of the exiled queen of Yugoslavia. Don't forget the nuclear secrets that came out of Widnes via tube alloys.
Love how this popped up on my TH-cam homepage as I used to live in Helsby until age 11. Nice work with the video and best wishes from here in the south of France
Need to do some Bimblesquat.....i.e. Camping, getting a bit cold for it now though. Great stuff as usual, there is wealth of interest around Runcorn, Widnes, Frodsham and Warrington.
Great Bimble yet again, Keiron . Looks like you used the same path . We used it as a family day out to the top of Frodsham Hill . Swing boats .and helter skelter. And the Mersey View Club . Did you get to sample Cowards Pies . Whilst on The High Street .
I'm late again to the party, but I enjoyed another one of your Bimbles. Many thanks. Keep Bimbling. Pete
It's funny our paths haven't crossed because I have Bimbled. most of your routes 😁🚴🚴
Outstanding as usual Kieran…
