- Kris, Susie, and Ralsei ascend to the skies of the Cloudlands, aiming to stop Cao Tinh. Unfortunately, their arrival is met with a disheartening sight- they've reached the scene too late. The beast has already begun digesting half of the SOUL stolen from Kris, evolving into Infinite Cao Tinh.
However, even when faced with an unstoppable force of nature, the trio must confront the seemingly impossible task of defeating him.

Is it a coincidence that the big star that Berith describes as a rumoured "entrance to heaven" looks exactly like a giant SAVE point?
AND the same symbol seen in the faces of the titans. 🤔
I'm starting to think that "The edge of Shadow, where Reality and Dream meet" instead of being abt the LightWorld and DarkWorld becoming one in The Roaring is instead talking abt the World of the game Deltarune and the Real actual irl World becoming one, whitch may support the Theory that Heaven is indeed the real World and that we The Player is The Angel, even tho i don't rlly like it Storywise...
Damn Cao Tinh really took that "What is a star? Can you eat it?" question seriously.
I think it would be poetic justice that at the end of the fight, CAO catches Kris and devours the rest of us, but realizes too late our Angelic Soul is too much for his stomach to handle. He then starts panicking, crying out in agony as the full power of our soul swells him up, then causes him to explode in a burst of energy, freeing all the souls he ate (including our soul, which immediately repossesses Kris), reducing him to his original state, now emaciated.
Now helpless and cornered, CAO tries to (falsely) beg for mercy by playing the pity card with their backstory, before Susie, who probably has a similar one, shuts his sob story down with the fact that he ate innocent people.
(Whether they reform or not since their souls are freed is up to Zet)
Enraged, he then tries to lunge at her, before Susie grabs him by his throat and- well, let’s just say she does to him what she said she’d do to Kris when we first met her in Chapter 1.
We see her maw draw close to his now terrified face, the screen turns completely red & we hear a hit sound, before cutting to black.
In the silence that follows, we get our shadow crystal and a boss weapon, which is ironically a weapon for Susie that slightly heals her whenever she attacks.
We then cut to Susie sitting glumly at the edge of a cliff with Ralsei comforting her.
When returning to the light world, if you check behind a staircase out of the player’s view:
“You notice an awful odor emanating from the corner.”
“You suddenly felt sick to your stomach.”
Checking it again says:
“You don’t want to look.”
It’d be even more cathartic if once he devoured the soul fully, he smugly claims that he’s now a god and how he’ll devour everything…
And then you get a prompt to mash the directional keys. Remember, just because he ate the entire soul doesn’t mean we aren’t still in control of it.
As you start mashing, he’ll suddenly start looking sick, before he starts roaring in pain as our power causes his midsection to swell as we literally destroy him from the inside out, with his dialogue mirroring the end of Omega Flowey’s fight:
“WAIT SOMETHINGS: NOT RIGHT”
“WHAT IS: HAPPENING TO ME”
“I FEEL: SICK”
“NO NO NO: NO NO NO”
_Light starts pouring out of him as his body begins to swell like a balloon_
“IT: HURTS”
“STOP: IT”
“YOURE: SUPPOSED TO OBEY ME”
“PLEASE: STOOOOOOOOO-“
And then he pops.
Cmon thats way too harsh with my guy he just achieved sentience in the worst conditions possible after living all his life as an wild animal.
The gang shouldnt fucking bite his face off for acting like an wild animal in an enviroment never seen before and with no one to teach him how to do things correctly.
nature vs nurture.
Just because he had a bad time growing up, doesn’t mean he gets to hurt or possibly kill others.
Like I said, from what we’ve seen with Susie so far, she might have grown up in similar circumstances: uncared for, starving and unloved. Yet she did not let her own cruel upbringing affect how she treats others, instead learning to be kind.
CAO, on the other hand, acts like a sadistic beast; despite him now being sentient, meaning he knows that he’s hurting other thinking beings, he does it anyway, and not just that, he *enjoys* hurting and eating them. He enjoys their misery.

Its not just that he was abused, but that recently he was just a LITERAL WILD ANIMAL with no sense of morality or even ability to understanding it. And he just receives it out of nowhere, then its expected to just abandon his past predatory tendencies after already absorving souls???
I understand if they kill him in the battle, but killing him after he was defeated and refusing to understand his reasonings is just disgusting.
@@mechamedegeorge6786 If the Player spared Cao Tinh at the end of this fight, he would just finish himself off. ZET confirmed it in his Discord Server.
In Cao's eyes, he'd be a hypocrite if he accepted others' Mercy at this point.
This is some INSANE spritework and animation done for this video, not gonna lie.
The environments and backgrounds are always so insanely magical, really ties in the music and character designs for me!
Small random idea,if when the text says "a feeling of hunger permeates you" you eat something,it the says "you will never be satisfied" the next turn.
just thought like. cao tinh doesn’t seem to have an obvious “freedom” or “heaven” he wants to get to at first like spamton or jevil (i’m not too sure what billy chance’s heaven is), but maybe it’s his hunger? maybe if he reached wherever the “heaven” he spoke of is and consumed it, he would finally be satiated or something. the song title also contributes to this theory
I have a feeling that this au follows the 7 sins theory, where each secret boss represents a deadly sin (jevil is pride, spamton is greed) and cao tihn represents gluttony

Also, I think that after what he has done, I think he is going to freaking die, and not like turning into an item, like STRAIGHT UP DEAD.

Everything in this song and the fight just RADIATES that Final Fantasy feel! It also seems to use forth wall breaks to a great effect too!

I really like the setting where you can only use half of your abilities because half of your soul has been taken away.
The mysterious background is also cool.
this is the best boss theme you’ve ever composed, seriously what a banger. And the art is gorgeous, I was excited for upcoming releases already but this made me extremely hyped for more dr:nr and lambdarune. Amazing job!

It would be interesting if Kris acted more independently from player commands during this fight, since half the SOUL controlling him is gone.

I like the way deltatraveler does unspareable opponents, by just having the X over the yellow mercy bar.
EDIT: just realized that X is just what deltarune does with unspareable in general (aka Snowgrave Spamton NEO)
Maiby it's an incentive to avoid optional fights? Or just... susie and ralsei can do it? Even if not knowing stats and a description would be kinda meh.
But could be a scare factor,kind of. Not knowing anything of what's in front of you.
Looks like this Kefka-lookin' MF didn't realize... taking the Player away just means there's nothing holding Kris back anymore.
Not sure if this is the last we'll see of this chum, but gotta say it was a blast all the way through, and what an absolute head banger to end off on! No doubt, this is true power of what a Discord community can do when they can channel their chaotic, memelord forces for good :D

Probably smart of him to take half of Kris's soul. Who knows just how dangerous soulless Kris can be. I doubt that slashing tires and leaving a door open are even remotely close to their limits.

That guy is actually a Lightner. He's a normal fox from the Light World who took residence in a mall and when said mall was turned into a Dark World, he gained the ability to devour SOULs of both Lightners and Darkners.

Infinite Cao Tinh tries to devour the rest of Kris’s soul but Kris used the shadow mantle to stop that
Kris used the green soul ability
Dialogue happens before the battle begins.
The outcome of the battle
Cao tinh dies Kris gets the rest of his soul back, Berith gets revived. Strangely Cao Tinh becomes an item despite being a lightner . Later in castle town we get a funny little dialogue scene between jevil, spamton, and Cao Tinh
