  • I bought my dream camera! I absolutely love the GFX 50R. I hope this video gives some decent insight into what it's like to use it if you're trying to decide if you want to invest in this camera. I'm super excited to shoot portraits with this next and become bolder with my street photography.
    Thanks for watching!

      Your photographs are absolutely stunning- you make one heck of a case for this camera! My question is, how do you contend with that lens not covering the entirety of the sensor? Do you have to crop out the edges or are you able to compensate by adjusting the vignette in post? Great video production btw, looking forward to more!

    • @PatrickHRogers
      @PatrickHRogers  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@wesleycressman3134 thank you! It actually covers about 96% of the sensor. It has very little vignetting so it’s easily correctable in lightroom to where I never have to do any cropping!

      @TarrelScot 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@wesleycressman3134 Camera also has a 35mm crop mode. Sure, you lose a bit of resolution but still get 36 megapixel, plus all the other image quality benefits of the medium format sensor. It means you can use pretty much any full-frame lens without vignetting.

    Same here. Had been using X-T10 then X-T30 for years. Seeing the kind of quality the photos i get from 50R is just amazing. What's even better is i had been using a bunch of adapted vintage lenses: Helios, Takumar, Contax, old Fujinon ... I never realise how amazing these lenses can become with a larger than full frame sensor. The small cropped sensor really could not show what these old lenses are capable of

    I’ve been a working professional for over 40 years. So many camera systems, so many formats, I’ve used over this long career. No other camera system has inspired me so, as to want to carry daily with me everywhere you go. This is the GFX system by Fuji. Once you see the files. Why would I want to use any other system. For the past three years I had access to The GFX 100s. Sadly had to return to its owner. Now I struggle to be inspired to even look through another camera. For I know the files are nothing what the GFX sensors can capture. Congratulations on finding a truly inspiring camera that you will want to have with you at all times 🍃

    I'm a big FujiFilm fan and I have made my way into medium format and once you make your way into medium format you do find it difficult to go back. I still have an XT5 and I do use that camera a lot still but once you've seen the files out of a medium format camera and your jaw hits the computer screen when you were looking at the filesHe is difficult to go back and unless you've used a medium format you will not understand. You can look at medium format photos on a screen but until you've shot them and seen them and edited them and what you can do with the files you won't understand I can totally understand why this is so appealing.

    I just bought this camera + the GFX 50mm 3 weeks ago.
    I had basically stopped shooting photos after starting college, and this was the first time jumping back into photography in 5+ years.
    Love love love the camera. This camera + my city life style (in New Haven, CT shoutout) + the warm weather has inspired me to take literally the best photos of my life and really capture my community.

      @@PatrickHRogersI really like it! It’s my only lens for the system so it’s all I know for the system, but given it’s the “smallest” gfx lens, it’s really high quality + autofocus is quick. I feel comfortable shoulder slinging the setup all day on days I don’t even plan to do photography per se, like it’s basically my superchared X100VI.
      Would be curious to try some vintage glass / manual focus on the camera though, bc this really does feel like a film camera with digital convenience.

    Good video, but I'd recommend toning down the music as it's overpowering your voice.

    Amazing, you bought a camera that has been sold from late 2018 on in 2024... why would that be anything special? This youtube "ooooh my gooooooood loook I'm using 3 months old hardware in 2024 like a peasant" stuff is awesome
