    Not only are these the best bolt on traction bar brackets I’ve seen, but the bar/end combo is also top notch. I’m pleasantly surprised to see how you have them priced too. Definitely gonna be picking up a set in the spring

    Could also run 1/4” thick rubber mating between the axles and bolt on brackets to help eliminate extra noise transferred up the frame and help them stay tight and in place.

    May seem kinda stupid, but could you flip the axle brackets "upside down" and mount the bars on the high side and still get the same effect? Just a thought for being able to "hide" the bars a bit for a more sleeper appearance

    • @haydenbriggs
      @haydenbriggs ปีที่แล้ว

      Late response so maybe you have an answer. But that would still help alittle with axle wrap. But with the geometry and physics. Axle wrap would still be an issue if you mount it to the top. Mounting it to the bottom will prevent or minimize the axle from pivoting while on power.

    • @FirepunkDiesel

      If you have air bags you'll need to use Weld on traction bar brackets

    • @FirepunkDiesel
      @FirepunkDiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Currently I would say use our weld on brackets for the axle and if you still wanted to do the bolt on front brackets you could do that. If there is enough demand for a bolt on axle bracket that works with an airbag, I would gladly look into making an optional bracket. If you want to discuss or send pictures of your setup I would be glad to help. 614-504-8028 -Lyn Firepunk Fab

    Lease are for looks. Bolt on rear needs weld to actually be able to lift or push down towards ground.

  • @eixr
    @eixr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The bars are WAY longer than the front of the leaf springs. That makes them travel in different arcs which makes the suspension bind and ride like shit. The rear is at full droop. Bars are rigidly (as much rigidity as you get from a useless axle clamp) mounted on both ends. What happens when the suspension tries to compress?? The bar will hinder compression until the axle clamp spins to the rear. Now that the clamp is loose and free to move, it wont function as a traction bar. It might look cool under the truck, but it wont function as a traction bar. Piss poor design. Look up how to properly build traction bars. Your truck and passengers will thank you.

  • @Bodie2020
    @Bodie2020 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Well he just proved that he has zero idea about actually using trucks for work!! Anyone with any common sense that uses their trucks on farms,jobsite, or any off-road activities should know that you never put grease fittings or anything that can be easily damaged at the low point. Furthermore if a person is so lazy that they cannot teach on top of a 1.75 bar to grease a joint deserves to have their stuff wear out and break.

    • @FirepunkDiesel
      @FirepunkDiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Can you build a set yourself for $300 yes, but you get what you pay for. Your $300 set won't have chromoly tubing, rebuildable flex joints, powder coating and laser cut brackets with a fully bolt on design. I can assure you our costs are significantly more than$300 on this set of bars. If you want to build your own set, go for it, but not everyone has a welder and the ability to fabricate. These bars were designed for those that have basic tools and want a nice set of quality bars.

    Will the .120 wall hold up to sled pulling?

    • @FirepunkDiesel
      @FirepunkDiesel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      We've used this tubing for quite a while and haven't ever had any bend. Chromoly tubing is significantly stronger than mild steel DOM tubing. To give you an idea of the difference, when building a roll cage NHRA requires .120 wall DOM where if you use Chromoly you can use .085 wall tubing.
