    It is amazing that after fully flooding the exhaust pipes that motorcycle kept on working. Moreover it worked fine afterwards, what a machine...

    • @mephistovonfaust
      @mephistovonfaust ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not really... The engine was still above the water line, so no flooding could occur. The exhaust gases have very little issues pushing the water out of the exhaust.
      Flooding is only an issue if the water gets into the engine, not only binding the gas but also making the necessary compression impossible.

    Greetings from Iceland, it is very interesting to watch your video blog travel around Iceland couple of things come to mind, being an Icelandic Adventure rider myself.
    1. The time of year you choose to travel here is wrong. Best adventure travel season is August and September, then it is still relatively warm and all roads that are passable are open.
    2 When you come to an obstacle like the one you got yourself stuck in, an experienced rider like yourself should have stopped and checked the driving condition as this time in early spring/summer we have a lot of thaw and mud.
    I salute you for your courage and to bring this old work horse with you ride safely my friend.

      Thanks for the nice comment. Actually checked the condition of the mud puddle befor going through it with the bike when setting up the camera I was at the time still missing the skill to handle it tho.

      @@FreeMilesMC I got my dad's Pajero stuck in a boghole. I had to do a shitload of digging and then I had to bury the spare tyre and use it as an anchor point so I could use the winch. Any suspect puddle I will always check now to see how deep it is and how soft the body is. I know the feeling of getting stuck....

      Nah, in that hole any 200kg motorcycle would get simply stuck, that is also one of the disadvantages of aggressive tires. Too much revs and you dig a hole instantly.

    At least you are out there doing things with your life, you will have something to talk about for a very long time , don't be too hard on yourself if you don't make mistakes you can't learn from that. Always believe in yourself . Maybe next time just walk it first before you ride it , I will rather have wet boots than be stuck for hours , but we love your channel and can't wait for the next adventure , ps I did laugh alot 😂

  • @mrcintheuk4641
    @mrcintheuk4641 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hindsight has 20/20 vision but I honestly think that this was rather predictable on the "track" you were on. Sticking knobbly tyres on a road bike is only going to help on the simplest of off-road lanes. As for getting help from a higher power somewhere in the universe, well good luck waiting for that! 😁
    Anyway, all's well that ends well. 👍👍👍

    Now that was diving into a pool of shite head first! 😂 I think the meothod dventure riders usually use to get their bikes out off such messes is knocking them over to on side, turn and pull them into a position where they have firm ground unter their wheels again and then lift them up. I've seen Charly Sinewan and Itchy Boots do that several times. Probabl would have helped you there either.
    But hey: Nothing is quicker at forging friendships than suffering through a battle together. So you now have a friend in Iceland. Just don't forget his beer. 🤗

    I don't think any other bike would have done better except maybe a 125 full cross with no luggage at full speed. The problem was not the bike but the rider- sorry to say that. After shooting all of that nice watercrossing footage you got overconfident with this deep puddle wich turned out to be even worse than it was on first sight. You simply should have passed on the dry left side. No cool splash footage but way less work, but, as always, you know best afterwards...

    • @FreeMilesMC
      @FreeMilesMC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutly Right it was a Skills issue. Also somthing That i did not show is the bike was almost through the puddle. I would have just have to open up the throttle. But I did not realize that in that moment. And then the bike slowly slid back in as I was wiggling back and forward and then tried again.
      And yes I was going trough the river crossings and stuff because it was a lot of fun. I actually walked through the puddle first and it seemed not that deep and reasonably solid but when I went through with the bike my bike instantly sank in in the floor

It seems that he creates fictitious drama where it doesn't exist as a way to entertain his viewers and raise his subscribers. TH-cam vloggers love to add in a little fiction.
