I just finished Death Stranding. Kojima totally lives up to that entrance and respect. You really have to play more to understand the deeper impact it has on you.
The problem with this game is only those who truly play and put time into it will experience the story the way it was made to be experienced. Sad that alot of people dont enjoy the gameplay because the story payoff is entirely worth it in my eyes
@@firstlast6437 I'm kinda of the opposite opinion to you, the story was meh, but the gameplay pay off was great. I actually loved the gradual introduction of quality of life features as the game progressed, and the online integration. It's very unique and meditative to play.
I loved the whole game, everything was fantastic. Completed it in 32 hours

I love the fact that unlike the other conferences, absolutely 0 of sony's was leaked. And with such huge titles and surprises constantly being shown one after another without pointless interview filler, this was a ridiculously captivating and shocking event
Actually God of War leaked like a month ago but aside from that everything else was a surprise

I like how Jones mentioned earlier in the stream that he had met with Kojima and he was wearing a shirt with the letters 'DS' on it.
He knew all time long, and even then he didn't tell the rest of the allies so they could get the surprised.
But knowing kojima it was probably not obvious ds= death stranding remember the fake studio he made for msg5 moby studios

And here we are now. The experience is definitely surreal yet it still managed to polarize the gaming industry.
That moment when things look so related to silent hills that everyone thought the title would e silent hills but remembered that konami is a buddy fucker and so the title is completely different and you're still content because kojima is awesome and the game looks awesome too
Look up Luden the armor Norman Reedus wears. Mass stranding is about like sea creatures being beached on our land. Life Stranding is when they're still alive and Death Stranding is when they're well dead by now. Either Norman Reedus is beached on another planet or a couple of aliens are stuck on our foreign land.
I just wanted to point out that it's different but honestly seems cooler than Silent Hills.

I didn't notice the scars on his chest the first time around. I wonder if Norman Reedus has literally given birth to that baby in the game. If that's the case, then that's some wicked sci-fi right there. It could also just be that his organs were just all "upgraded," or hell, maybe he's in purgatory and is slipping away into death.... KOJIMA!!!
It was over where his bellybutton SHOULD be. It appears his doesn't have one. It shows Norman's character probably wasn't born like a normal human being (bellybutton is where your umbilical cord used to be attached. He has NONE meaning he was never in a normal womb born like that. Crazy to think of the possibilities.) Or like said you, they cut a baby out of HIM like a C-section. We just don't know at this point lol. But it's still something crazy to note that having no bellybutton like that is kind of a big deal. It implies he was created or born some *other* way.
In the bible in genesis it talks about man birthing a child. Pretty much everything in this trailer is a religious symbol.
Kojima said - "this teaser is not related to the game, this is the identity of Kojima production..." so basically, as few users already mentioned, the baby is metaphor for his game or idea that was torn out of him before it was ready, while it was still attached to him, and vanished.. And floating guys are propably Konami...
He also said, that this is not next P.T. - in all honest, it cant be Silent Hill since he lost rights to it, but who knows.. he is mind fucking us, and I love it.

I don't think so. Everything there has a tube going into its belly, all the whales and dolphins, etc. Norman has a scar where his tube would be.

This is a one big allegory to Kojima (Norman), being thrown out of Konami (5 sky figures), where he was previously imprisoned (handcuffs). He was sad to lose his baby...the MGS series (notice the baby has a cord attached). He's dirty hands represent hard work and despite him losing his beloved child some part of it is still with him and guides him (tiny hand prints appearing on the sand). It gives him courage to stand up, he has a scar, maybe he also had a "cord" but now he's free. I don't know about his necklace tho...6 stones...on the wiki there are 6 main games fully produced by him (not counting GZ and extra editions)

What does he mean by "running in real time"?
A more technical explanation - the calculations for drawing each frame in the scene(s) are being calculated on-the-fly for a target frame-rate (looks to be 30fps) as opposed to being streamed as a video sequence and basically just being decoded for display. There is 99% more math involved in the former than in the latter - so way more intensive for hardware.
Basically, what you see here will be what the gameplay itself looks like.
WAsD Videos Not really. It's still an in-engine cinematic scene, so not representative of any gameplay once you actually take control of a character in first/third person. The Last of Us looked great in gameplay but it was different than the in-game cinematic cutscenes.
But this is the graphical fidelity you can expect from the game. This is what the engine can produce in real time.
Suyamu Don't know about this as a game with full player control - but it's just a presentation (tech demo) of the graphical potential.

Did anyone think about how Kojima is speaking English again here, after years of only speaking Japanese while bound to Konami where he was working on/releasing a game about both hanging onto your native tongue against the virality of English, being unable to communicate freely and the dangers of speaking certain strains of language etc?
That is a very, very interesting observation...
He said he used a translator since his English isn't the best and could be misunderstood. Now he's left Konami, his translator Sean Eyestone isn't by his side anymore. Also, this is HIS stage. Dragging a Sony translator with him would have been much less dramatic. He can say short lines no problem, as you can see. Very intriguing observation though.
I think the baby represented silent hills, which was Kojima's baby at the time until it got taken away from him unexpectedly. The handcuffs could represent how he was contained by Konami from doing what he wanted. And the song is a great representation "i'll keep coming" of no matter what Konami did, cuffing him, taking away his baby, Kojima is just gonna keep on coming to Kick ASS! and do it like a boss

In an interview he said that del Toro didn't directly work on it but Kojima told him the overall idea and del Toro liked it a lot.
The game obviously won't really be coming out until 2019~20 but I get the Kojima is still a hot topic now. I agree with the fact that they should show off the partnership and now they just shouldn't say anything for the next couple years until the game is closer to completion.

Hideo made P.T. fully knowing he would leave the company and fallout with Konami. P.T. was never meant to be finished, it was an actual teaser for this which he planned to make all along.
Konami wouldn't let him make risky artful games so he went behind their back to make P.T so he would have the ability and backing to make this.
