My friend did this once when I was in the car, luckily he didn't hit anyone but he was pulled over right away. Cop told him if he was going to miss his exit then just let it happen. He can always take the next exit and get back on the freeway. It's not worth risking someone's life. So I don't think this was an accident but reckless driving. So sad.
@Aloha Akahai Or texting while driving, like so many women do, I see them with my own two eyes. Hundreds of them, they're lost without their bloody phones. All the time with their phones in their hands, while walking, jogging, waiting for the bus, driving, eating, it's like the phone is the extension of their hands. A total addiction, like a disease.
I'm a trucker and if I miss my exit, oh well, have to go to the next one and loop around. You can go 30 miles in Utah before the next one comes. It isn't worth killing someone over!
A few yrs ago my father in law was on 95N past Boston, a semi on the south side lost a huge wheel, it bounced over the concrete barrier hitting him dead on front of his new Tacoma...my god the damage wad severe, he was lucky, he was just shaken up badly, not physically hurt, and thats a miracle because he has a pacemaker.
Yup. Seen one on the highway once lose a set of tires on a trailer, the set behind it ran them over and spit them out at windshield height into the oncoming lane. Luckily I was the only one following a ways back
I don't like to travel next to a semi. I've had several trucks start to enter my lane...with me next to them. I was in their blind spot. So, I will either pass the truck or drop behind it. Yes, there are many idiots who do cause an accident by BOTH 4-wheels and 18-wheels. Semis can't stop on a dime, so give plenty room! (BTW, I do have a truck story. I was on the interstate at around 2 am (going home from work) and there was a UPS semi ahead of me. I was going to pass, but it suddenly started weaving BADLY. I decided not to pass and dropped back. Just in front of the next exit there is a concrete bridge. He hit it, bounced off, and kept going.,UPS has a depot on my exit. He made it...turned out he fell asleep at the wheel. He was lucky.
I HATE when the person in front of me in the left lane refuses to pass the truck so that I’m forced to ride alongside a semi. Had a truck once try to get in my lane with a concrete barrier to my left and a slow moving dumbass in front of me. Scary!! I try to stay far away from big rigs.
I don't think the Nissan driver was next to a semi... It looks like she was driving alone and ran in to the back of the semi trailer that was stopped or much slower moving
No one drives defensively anymore. You have to expect the unexpected in order to stay alive. So sorry this young lady lost her life. Looks like she and the truck driver shared responsibility for the accident, according to the description of what happened.
@@kkerr1953 we still drive defensively...but, we're old, lol. You are SO CORRECT, it's the best way to stay alive. My husband is retired law enforcement, so he's a great driver, it's always Me, lol. I just got my third speeding ticket. We live off a major highway and my car has a touchy pedal. I now use my cruise control, or I get a kid to drive me.
THE DETAILS SOUND FISHY. HE WAS GOING TO FAST TO MAKE TURN SO HE SWERVED IN FRONT OF CAR THAT WAS GOING WAY FASTER THAN THE TRUCK. I'LL BET THERE WAS ROAD RAGE INVOLVED.
I love all the keyboard warriors who act like they were there and know what happened. How about doing research on the accident instead of going on assumptions.
Always give people the space they need to make last minute knuckle headed decisions like this flatbed driver did. Leave space and keep your brake covered until all maneuvers are completed.
It's a form of stress relief, if you had a job that involved cutting bodies from vehicles you would understand, on the other hand maybe you wouldn't.....
Gotta do the job to understand the job. Cutting what were people out of vehicles is extremely demoralizing and mentally scaring. Done it, hated it, never want to do it again.
@@amandahudson431 The statement above says "The Semi truck driver thought he was going too fast to get off at his exit, so swirved back onto the hwy, cutting off the Suv with young woman inside". Doesn't make too much sense? If he is getting iff the hwy should be slowing down. He could also apply the brakes, unless he doesn't have any? If thats the case, then he shouldn't be on the road.
So much for all of the you tube crash experts claims that people would survive if the bumpers were strong enough to keep a car from going under the trailer.
never drive any where near a semi.... behind it, in front of it, or by its side! if i have to speed up including going over posted speed limit just to pass a semi in 2 seconds, i will do so!
I never get near semi (phobic), IF YOURE A TRUCK DRIVER PLEASE DONT TAILGATE SOMEONE, YOU KNOW HOW LONG IT TAKES INTIL IT COMPLETELY STOPS, a semi almost rear ended me because he was too close
I've had that instance happen to me several times. Especially in Memphis. Truck drivers need to start getting pulled over more often for that matter since it ends up risking the safety of others on the road. Children and adults alike.
So Sad and my prayers are with them both! We are all human and make a mistake or bad call when driving and this will probably haunt him the rest of his life. My heart goes out to the victim and her family. May God bless all of you.

Kinda the same thing happened to me. I was trying to get over and exit and a trucker was blowing by me to where instead of speeding up and getting over I just went 2 miles to the next exit and got back on.. I thought about what could possibly happen and went against it.. sad, rest in peace
Hey people, the title said, truck driver missed exit, cut in front of her. She was not in his blind spot! She hit the ass end of truck. Don't give me that flashing light, blind spots, and other stuff. That applies in other situations, not here. I myself have been there, and respect truck drivers. Your advice does not count here, as I already said earlier. Truck drivers fault on this one. Reread title here.
Here in India there are hell number of idiots on road, drive too close without giving a pass light or a honk they cut you off in your lane. Imagine how risky it is to drive on highways.
I hope she didn't suffer... I imagine the moments before Emergency Services arrive.. Those moments that your realizing there's a death on scene. I just pray she went quickly.. Its awful for both sides
I wonder how this will sort out. I feel bad for both drivers. The semi-driver avoided a possible solo crash by aborting his exit but did he cut her off or was the driver of the X-terra driving to close to the semi when the semi-driver attempted the exit or was she not paying attention and didn’t notice until the last second the semi came back into the lane. Just a tragic accident.
Sounds like truck drivers fault. He was going to exit but knew he was going to fast to make the exit and decided to stay on freeway so he proceeded back into the lane he was leaving and ultimately the young woman rear ended him. Most likely not knowing he was going to come back to the lane he had started merging out of.
I'm a truck driver & with more & more traffic on the roads it's so hard for us to simply change lanes. Cars are speeding & changing lanes everytime I blink. Just a few days ago I unintentionally cut someone off. He was speeding in & out of the middle & right lanes because he thinks that a cop won't see him if he's in a cluster. Just about the time I put on my right turn signal he appears just about in my blind spot & blows his horn at me.
The exit layout is definitely not the smartest on the interstate going through Houston, the only thing worse is going through Denver, that is mind numbingly dumb.
I have a 1979 Cj5 jeep and was hit head on by a dick that ran a red light in a ford focus and its so horrible to see how these newer cars just crush like cans. My jeep was completely steel and barely bent up but the ford was totaled.. The roads are a scary place to be and people really need to pay attention..
from the looks of that suv ,the driver was flying low when it hit the back of that rig! Do you realize how hard it would have had to hit to smash the motor back into the front seat?? So I'm saying it is not entirely the trucker's fault!
sorry but the motors now are made to break away. The trucker admitted he was going too fast to exit and cut back into her lane. Nothing says she was going more than the legal limit. You do realize that parts of texas the speed limit is 80? No one should have to worry about truck drivers cutting into their lane because they are idiots.
I’m a truck driver. Owner operator. If I had a dollar for every time some dumbass in a car tried to take my bumper off I wouldn’t have to drive a truck anymore.
I think this was just an accident. He changed from turning because he didn't think he'd make the turn safely, and to me, it looks like she was following too close and too fast. RIP lady.
Hope that trucker never drives again,Trucking isn’t what it used to be Nothing but foreigners inexperienced and careless towards other people, the list goes on and we the consumers will pay for this through our Insurance What a shame,a young life taken RIP
let learn something from this, I'm a truck driver my self and every day I always see cars riding my bumper, if I'm going 72-75 mph.and something cause me to brake hard similar seen will happened to car that was riding my bumper, so please back off because every life is more precious than one can imagine.
Excuse me but it's clear that this is the truck drivers fault! It's not ok to exit then change your at last sec! He killed her a 24 year young woman! 😏😐😛😌😕😟😥
Its always the truck driver's fault, they have the highest class license & are supposed to uphold it. I also notice truck driver can use whatever speed they want & sometimes don't give room at all to exit a freeway.
Kann missed the correct issue. Truckers can NOT see you if you are in the “no zone”. This may result in a lane change by the trucker because he does not see you. It isn’t possible because of the way trucks are made. This accident was caused by the trucker. He should always be in the far right lane by law. Let’s not let this lady die in vain. Do not put yourself where the truck driver cannot see you. If the trucker makes a mistake you really don’t have much of a chance of survival. My father was a trucker for 40 years. He told my sister and I this over and over. Stay out of the “no zone”!
To be honest, I think the truck's underride guard did a good job stopping the car. You can see it hasn't been bent all the way back. From this limited footage, I think the furniture (office chair) in the car could contribute as the sharp object that could be caused the driver's death, and also speed kills.
@@pjoka2644 if I'm behind a semi that's exiting the interstate, I ALWAYS wait to make sure that they're safely off the interstate. It's called defensive driving and paying attention to what's around you.
Never stay on a trucks right side. If you end up there than hit your throttle or brakes. You can't see around the truck so if something is about to happen you would be blindsided. Never drive behind or beside something you can't see over or around.
Oh how utterly sad for that young lady!!! Was she following to closely behind the truck, that when he aborted his exit attempt, she had no reaction time?? That's why it is so very important to drive at least two and a half vehicle lengths behind whatever is in front of you wheneve possible. Travel well young lady. May the God of mercy cradle your Soul in infinite peace in Paradise. Condolences to the family. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
(CAUTION: Long, but not so boring this time, comment) Sad and description reads as if possibly avoidable. It's never safe to predict what any vehicle will do, especially trucks. Over the past 40 years I've worked or assisted in working many big truck wrecks between the top of Monteagle Mtn, around the the 136mm east, and westbound to the 166mm at the Tn-Ga line on interstate I-24 near Chattanooga. Around the 162 westbound we have a curve called "Dead Mans Curve" but in 2017 between the 162 and 169 milemarkers, this takes in the 3 mile dip into Georgia, there were 470 accidents in that curving, short line of sight, section. I knew it was bad but not that bad. It's as bad, or worse, now. The curve: I knew something had to be goin on in that curve, especially for trucks hauling loads like this and those double trailer trucks, beside just driving too fast, impaired driver or other factors. I had noticed, and mentioned to state officials for years, a slight "dip" in the interstate right about the apex of the curve or just as you were about around it but nobody cared. Most of the last 35 years I've been a government contractor with our military and those in several countries. Also travel with medical missionaries donating my time/paying my own expenses to provide security and assist the doctors as a medic. All my missions were relatively short so when at home I assisted local law enforcement, Tn Highway Patrol and several search and rescue teams. I was officially given permission by THP to assist but many officers and officials didn't know me or my background. Several seemed to not like for me to assist them even tho I was working for free and at my own risk. After over giving my state and county over 30,000 hours over those 35yrs they kinda got used to me bein out there. Only live a mile from the interstate so many times I was first on the scene as even today at right at 2022 there are only 3 or 4 deputies covering our entire county and sometimes only one Trooper for 2 or 3 counties. No paid full time fire departments or Search and Rescue services, all volunteer and only 2 ambulances on duty per shift. Yeah, crazy. Anyway I decided to sit, in a dangerous location but off to the side of the emergency lane as far as possible to observe and video trucks goin over that dip in the road. What I found is that when heavily loaded trucks went over it the trailers, many loaded with steel or those huge solid blocks of aluminum, would kind of dip or squat a good bit and then rebound back up thus lightening, slightly, the rear suspension on the trailers. Of course the truck drivers could sense or feel this and if they lifted off the throttle AND applied their brakes very much the trucks and trailers got a little, or a lot, squirrelly. If the road was wet that's when most of the accidents occurred. You can still evidence of many accidents if you pass thru there. Debris, torn up trees and scars on the right side embankment and damaged guard rails. Not counting the black skid marks from dry road crashes. Someone at the state level watched my video and listened to me and that section was paved over and the dip eliminated. Number of accidents dropped dramatically. Altho it's starting to show up slightly again from the millions of travelers that pass thru here on our 30 miles of interstate each year. Monteagle Mtn has it's own history of terrible crashes so no need to mention them. EXCEPT from the top to the bottom of the mountain, both eastbound down the Mtn or westbound up the mountain, there is no fire department coverage. None. The closest and very small volunteer fire department will not respond, with their old fire truck, unless an injured person is trapped in the wreckage. That's from about the 135 to 147 mile markers. Several miles of that on the level part of I-24. So if it's just a small fire, like when the tractor trailer brakes get overheated or a car or trailer has a small fire of some kind and if fire extinguishers can't put it out we have to just block traffic and watch millions of dollars in vehicles and freight burn to the ground. I personally have even watched several tour buses totally melt down. Yeah, more craziness. If you're in Tennessee perhaps you could pester your representatives or bury the Governor in emails or something. Even if you just travel interstate I-24 thru here you could contact the Governor's office. We can't even get TDOT to put up cameras in that stretch between the 162 and 169 or goin UP the mountain. Strangely enough there are more wrecks westbound up the mountain that coming down the eastbound side. Them ain't your granddaddy's 18 wheelers. Many can run over 70mph up the mountain fully loaded. These dangerous areas are why I've shared this even tho I know few will read it but perhaps if anyone does they can share it. I've seen more death and destruction here than in all the countries I've worked in. Aw man, one last thing. Several years ago they started putting up those cables instead of guardrails thru here. They are deadly. If for whatever reason you have to try to move over to avoid something or just make a mistake and hit a guardrail, you can slide along it and altho have some damage you might recover control of your vehicle. Not with the cables. They either grab your vehicle or kick you back into traffic. We've even had vehicles caught IN the cables like a spider web. I can't find any stats on how many crashes they cause.....because there aren't any stats to find, but somebodies are getting rich putting them up and repairing them after all the crashes. Nobody cares. Well, except the victims. No marches or protests for them. So if you have them in your area maybe start noticing and be extra careful when traveling beside them. They are totally unforgiving. rick in Tennessee. Merry Christmas and drive extra safely. Especially thru here, Marion County, Tennessee and the most dangerous and under protected interstate in the U.S. Uh, that's not official but it's true if you do the numbers. Dec 24, 2021. 11:51am. CST. The End.
I used to drive through there in a tractor trailer often. That uphill westbound section of I-24 was always a pain. One time, I was empty on a return trip, so I got in the left lane to pass many slower trucks all in the right lane. The 2ND truck in the group, pulling doubles, jumped out in front of me within 100 ft. I had to lock it up. I was probably going 20 mph faster then they were. Can't tell me he didn't see me coming. Glad I no longer drive trucks.

@@TheAcceleratorMagazine Yes, there is a big changeover from older professional drivers to younger inexperienced drivers out there. This combined with less law enforcement most places. Everyone should be aware of this and drive accordingly around tractor trailers.
I bumped into the back of a semi in a caravan. I passed out from low blood sugar. Thankful to be alive and to only be going 15 mph. Trust me, she was probably in the same boat going faster. To this day, I remember how similar my van looked, but less damage in the front. Any faster, who knows.....
I wonder if the things are picked up and given to the family. I am sure not all are things family would want to get back. It is always saddest when they are childrens toys and their belongings.
TOO BAD THOSE ICC BARS ON THE TRAILER COULDN'T BE SPRING LOADED LIKE ON NBA BACKBOARDS WHERE THEY COULD TAKE THE HIT AND BEND IN SO THERE WOULDN'T BE SOME MUCH DESTRUCTION.
It seems everyone in the comment section has more factual information about this accident, than I do! Either that, or so many of you people are just making assumptions and placing blame from those assumptions. And if that's the case, you need to STOP doing that.!! And first of all, who the hell really even cares "whose fault it is"? Regardless of pointing the finger at someone, the fact is the woman in the car was killed. Whether at fault or not, it doesn't change the tragic outcome. Normally, when a vehicle is rear ended, the vehicle that hit it, is considered to be "at fault". But again, there could be, and probably is more to the story here. Again, regardless of whose at fault, that doesn't change the tragic ending, or remedy the loss suffered by family members.
It says the trucker thought he was going too fast to make the exit so he went back to the other lane instead of exiting...the poor girl trusted his blinker and thought he was exiting...she ended up hitting the truck.
I kid you not. I had a 2004 xterra. It was silver too. It had the grill guard and I had a guy pull out in front of me from A stop sign. He thought it was a four-way stop and I did not have one. I was going to 55 when I T-bones him in the driver side I still had half of my front end. This girl smashed it up into the windshield.
In the early 90s, I was rear-ended pulling doubles while stopped. The Canadian snowbird had a history of blacking out. Hit me at 40/45mph. Bunched up his front end not to the front tires, totalling it, but my goodness, she must have been flying and he was moving too
Charges are charges, thanks to the other driver's that witnessed the accident and stopped to report what they saw happen. Keeping your distance from Semis is always smart, also you ccan see more of the road, and ever seen one of those tires explode?
Yep... I've seen an heard one explode..... sounds like a bomb...with what looks like mozzel fire from a Cannon...I was on the expressway one Sunday morning... Early and luckily no cars were close to it but I was going about 65 so the truck was about 50ft ahead and pow!!!!! If a car had been passing and it happened just as it was passing they surly would have ran off the road from the explode alone it literally sounded like a bomb or an amplified sniper rifle Krazy stuff there...
I was sitting at a rest area and saw a semi tire explode and fly off the truck traveling quite aways, scared me to death. Luckily it didn't hit anyone.
I see alot of people arguing over who's fault it is and tbh its the truck drivers fault on this one in the beginning of the video it states that "a young woman was killed, due to the truck driver missing his exit"...this is in no way the young woman's fault she was either trying to get home or get to work like everyone else..no one can predict when their time will end...nor the cause of how it will happen...but this one was not because of her negligence it was on the truck driver.
I have to say that the scene I saw? Does not comport with the narrative of a crazy Trucker, trying to get his load to the store on time, and who just "swerved his truck" back onto the freeway. Allow me to explain- The Trucker stated that he felt he was going TOO FAST for the off-ramp he had to negotiate, this shows, if he's sober, as the police said, known to be a good driver, and honest, that he was a SAFETY conscious driver. Someone who is thinking in this fashion? Will NOT be prone to just Swerve a Semi-tractor trailer, with a load, back into the freeway- In addition, IF he'd done such a thing? I believe his load would have shifted in a manner, easily seeable by investigators. Since I've seen zero mentioned of this? And the load appeared to still be fully centered on the bed of the truck, I would say it was more likely that this trucker did as he said, and just merged back onto the freeway, instead of exiting, a PERFECTLY LEGAL, and SAFE MOVE. Now, If this Trucker is all the above, and did this last that I mentioned? Then he was still going Freeway speeds, or very close, as he merged back on. Being that ALL of his rear-lighting is fully function, since we can see them all- and, taking into account the extensive damage to the Nissan, THIS is the Conclusion I've come to, albeit, only from seeing a video: This Trucker felt he WAS going too fast for the off-ramp, with the load he was carrying, and, being still, basically, at freeway speed, he began to merge back onto the freeway. It is ALWAYS the responsibility of the driver BEHIND, to be AWARE of what is in front of them. This being the case- And, seeing absolutely ZERO braking marks left by the Nissan, I believe this poor gal may have been in a hurry, as many of us would be, to get home after a long trip. She was tired, and not as responsive as one might be. However, she was also SPEEDING. She had to of been, judging by the EXTENSIVE DAMAGE to her front end, hitting the back of a Semi, that was still, pretty much, at Freeway speed, or just a little below. So, let's say the Truck was approx. @ 50 MPH, and Freeway speed was 65. That's only a 15 MPH difference. There is no way in the world, that much damage comes from an impact of 15 mph, especially with BOTH vehicles, moving in the SAME direction. Now, let's say this truck was doing 45, unlikely, because at this speed, having been a trucker once myself, he should have had no issues, taking the off-ramp. But for arguments sake, let's say he was. And now let's put her at 80.. or even 85 MPH. Even here, it's still only 40 MPH of damage, that should have been done to her SUV. What it looks like to me? She may have been in the 90's, and not paying attention- but even if she WAS? That's far to fast to stop in time, if ANY vehicle decides not to exit, and just merges back in with traffic. This would have caused an impact of around 50-55 MPH, much more conducive with the damage we saw.. Remember, this is all just IMO, and my own theory. I was NOT there, nor do I have the facts the police do, to solve this. But I would not be shocked to find out I was pretty close in my Theory- and that this was basically, just an extremely sad accident, with the majority of the fault, to be found with the driver who passed away. I could be completely wrong, and I'm in no way sitting in Judgement of anyone. I'm look at the evidence I can SEE, and making my best educated guess, as to what actually happened here, that cost a very young woman, with many years left ahead of her, to perish.
LMAO where did you go to get your reconstruction certification? You were not there, you only see a video, you don't know what has been moved or not moved...The gentleman who was there evidently talked to witnesses or police to know what he knows. You are an idiot with too much time on your hands and quite honestly if someone cuts you off, they are the idiot. She was NOT following him in the exit lane, he cut into her lane and she could not stop. He killed her because he was going too FAST. Truck drivers all want to put the blame where it doesn't belong. Sorry your reconstruction does NOT keep her from being dead and blaming her is quite frankly evil on your part.

And I can prove that, beyond any reasonable doubt. Tell me one other thing, "Brain", what does how fast the truck was going have to do with "killing her", when SHE hit HIM, from behind, except in the scenario I LAID OUT? You can't answer, because you're just some idiot that doesn't like the little you read of my post, LOL. Damn you're lame.
I'm amazed the cops leave cars pass when a crash happened here in Ireland when there's a bad crash cops close off roads and motorways people have to find another way home or work or wherever they're going
My son's an 18 wheeler driver and he has a dash cam in his truck and it's shocking how many people driving cars get way too close to the back of his truck! They think it cuts the wind from causing their car to use more fuel. But what they don't realize is that it's EXSTREAMLY DANGEROUS ! Those trucks weigh tons and they can't see you back there and you don't ever want to get close to the trucks. A guy in a pickup pulled in front of my son's truck and hit his brakes for no reason. No traffic was in front of his pickup. My son's dash cam recorded it. If there had been a car right behind my son's truck it would have ran into his trunk when he had to hit the brakes to keep from hitting the pickup in front of him. It shocked me to see all the stupid and dangerous things cars are doing around those big trucks!! What is wrong with people?? Are they trying to die ?? Those 18 wheelers can't stop on a dime ! And when they are loaded that's a lot of weight to get stopped! STOP PLAYING HIT ME SO I CAN SUE YOU ! With the 18 wheelers! Most 18 wheelers now have dash cams in the truck. So remember that next time you think you can sue one when you hit your brakes right in front of them for no reason just because you think you can sue them if they hit your car! Dash cams don't lie! You're the one who will be sued, if you're alive after the truck runs over you!
R.I.P to the girl . Very important give yourself space on the road. It will potentially be a lifesaver. Also at a red light behind a car give yourself a space if something is starting to happen behind you ..well you have a way to move out
As someone who has been extricated from a vehicle with the jaws of life, people need to respect truckers more, and learn what a safe following distance is. Prayers for the families.
What do "respecting truckers" and following distance have to do with an accident where the truck driver initiated an exit, changed his mind, then swerved back into the freeway traffic IN FRONT OF a vehicle traveling in the right lane with no vehicle in front of it - until the trucker abruptly pulled back onto the freeway?
It's a bad accident. really bad but not all truckers are careless. some go through a lot of training and countless hours of class it's a few who screw it up. I hope he went to jail
Randy Anderson These trucks are usually 50+ feet long, If the truck cut across several lanes then it would have been difficult to dodge such a large vehicle.
This is the cars fault no matter what if you are behind the other vehicle the fault is with the person in the back, but no one should lose their life, he was not charged but he will live with it for rest of life .
I've spent years staying off major highways I take all back routes I know that sounds crazy but the truck driver scare me sometimes you get wedged between trucks and you just can't stop
First off from what I've seen over the past 5 years.....there are very few so called professional truck drivers....now it all about the short time and fast haul. No matter who is in the way
She was driving like hell to do that much damage to the trailer, following to close if you ask me? No way can someone cut you off and have that much damage to your car unless you were doing 90mph.
This was so avoidable. A young womans' life taken because a truck driver wasn't vigilant while driving. So very sad. He'll have to live with his actions for the rest of his life.
They can strengthen that bar, but instead they keep allowing the makers to get by with as little as possible. We see this happen all the time. You see how torqued the rear of her vehicle is? Did the truck driver just stp, or was there mechanical issues?
Wow such a senseless accident, I always give at least 4,5 car lengths away from a semi if I am behind them you never know what might happen, and they really need to make that mansfield bar different,,,,,,.this poor woman lost her life, condolences to all who knew her.
I hope that truck driver got his license revoked. You're in a semi, with a trailer...WITH CARGO. the slightest mistakes can cost lives. It isn't as correctable as driving a 3300 pound car. The DPS should charge him for that.
I don't understand how anyone is defending the truck driver. By the video description it sounds like the truck driver is at fault. He SWERVED back onto the freeway, so how is that the X-Terra's fault?
I see far too many people tailgating. It appears this trucker was moving to exit but determined his speed was too high, so aborted the exit. The deceased female in Xterra was driving too close and paid with her life. DO NOT TAILGATE. Give others ahead of you, plenty of space. Her bad driving cost her life.
Lesson learned 4 sec rule or give yourself 1.in a half car distances I am a truck driver my shelf. 4 sec rule plus how long and fast you driveing. It's in the book.
The four second rule would not help in this situation. The XTerra was not towing a trailer, and she was behind. The roads were not wet or icy. 2 second rule, for her, applies here.
4:18 what is up with the semi’s left rear tires? Ok I know they look like racing slicks but why is the inside one so small? R.I.P. to the exterra driver. Prayers for family and loved ones.
Tractor Trailer tires by law are allowed to 2/32in (bald looking). However the passenger car should be replaced at or before 3/32 for safety. No real law for passenger car tire wear in most states
I always keep my eyes peeled for possibilities. I trust no one. That's saved my a$$ many times. What's that saying? Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. There's an area by me where the highway splits. I cannot TELL you how many people realize (from the far left lane) 'Oh, shi*! I need to get on the other highway!' And cut across 4 lanes of traffic right in front of everybody. That's why I'm on high alert because I've seen this so many times. I'll be in my car yelling, "GO TO THE NEXT EXIT AND GET BACK ON, A*HOLE!!"
Sorry. These trucks only create more chaos on our highways. I have almost been killed by them that don't bother to look if it is ok to change lanes. They also need to be held accountable. But when you are dead, you can't really tell your part of the story how you were cut off by an ass hole trucker.
Failure to control speed. It takes quite a bit of speed to put the engine/transmission into the front seat. 80-90mph. Seen lots of these since 2015 ... I bet she had no idea the truck was there until she hit it.
Rest In Peace. You never think it will happen to you. Stay vigilant on the roads and don’t leave unfinished business in your life.
This is so sad, pray for this family no one should have to endure this pain.
So sad.
Yea this is crazy and sad, and the plate is not from Houston Tx maybe they come here to vacation so sad when accidents happen and someone dies.
That's what he did. He realized that he was going too fast to make the exit, and aborted the manoeuver by staying on the freeway.
Horrifying ..
Yup. Seen one on the highway once lose a set of tires on a trailer, the set behind it ran them over and spit them out at windshield height into the oncoming lane. Luckily I was the only one following a ways back
"Hitting him DEAD on" I was like OH NO then saw he was ok and it was just the wording 😅
I'm so glad he's ok!! Goodness gracious

My brother just got his license for driving a semi..scary
We don't have blinds on the drivers side
I don't think the Nissan driver was next to a semi... It looks like she was driving alone and ran in to the back of the semi trailer that was stopped or much slower moving

Hey people, the title said, truck driver missed exit, cut in front of her. She was not in his blind spot! She hit the ass end of truck. Don't give me that flashing light, blind spots, and other stuff. That applies in other situations, not here. I myself have been there, and respect truck drivers.
It happened over 6 years ago. It must have been sorted out already.
Read the description.
@@debbieshomes6984 ok Debbie 😆not helpful thnx!!
It's entirely the idiot trucker's fault. Should have been him instead
Whether in the right or the wrong , the truck always wins .. so sad …
Truckers do it all the time. Even when there isn't a lot of traffic.

from the looks of that suv ,the driver was flying low when it hit the back of that rig! Do you realize how hard it would have had to hit to smash the motor back into the front seat?? So I'm saying it is not entirely the trucker's fault!
People go way too fast on interstates..They go 110 and that's a low range. Slow down.

sorry but the motors now are made to break away. The trucker admitted he was going too fast to exit and cut back into her lane. Nothing says she was going more than the legal limit.
Sad deal there , truck always wins no matter who’s fault it was . That’s the lesson for everyone else here . Give them Room !

(CAUTION: Long, but not so boring this time, comment)
Sad and description reads as if possibly avoidable.

People care who's fault because they want to know how to avoid this problem in the future. It is human nature, it is how we learn.
It says the trucker thought he was going too fast to make the exit so he went back to the other lane instead of exiting...the poor girl trusted his blinker and thought he was exiting...she ended up hitting the truck.
She must have been rolling to fast. All these fatal i see the damage is far worse that any 40 m.p.h. crash tests i have ever seen.
Exactly. Anyway - ultimately, it doesn't matter who's at fault, if you're dead, you're dead.
She was definitely speeding to say the least.
Two hands on the wheel and by all means drive defensively!
I have to say that the scene I saw? Does not comport with the narrative of a crazy Trucker, trying to get his load to the store on time, and who just "swerved his truck" back onto the freeway. Allow me to explain-
The Trucker stated that he felt he was going TOO FAST for the off-ramp he had to negotiate, this shows, if he's sober, as the police said, known to be a good driver, and honest, that he was a SAFETY conscious driver. Someone who is thinking in this fashion? Will NOT be prone to just Swerve a Semi-tractor trailer, with a load, back into the freeway-
In addition, IF he'd done such a thing? I believe his load would have shifted in a manner, easily seeable by investigators. Since I've seen zero mentioned of this? And the load appeared to still be fully centered on the bed of the truck, I would say it was more likely that this trucker did as he said, and just merged back onto the freeway, instead of exiting, a PERFECTLY LEGAL, and SAFE MOVE.
Now, If this Trucker is all the above, and did this last that I mentioned? Then he was still going Freeway speeds, or very close, as he merged back on. Being that ALL of his rear-lighting is fully function, since we can see them all- and, taking into account the extensive damage to the Nissan, THIS is the Conclusion I've come to, albeit, only from seeing a video:
This Trucker felt he WAS going too fast for the off-ramp, with the load he was carrying, and, being still, basically, at freeway speed, he began to merge back onto the freeway.
But none the less, he was distracted for not preparing safely for the exit, looks like last minute, driver of semi young too.
@@pjoka2644 STFU. Seriously. Don't you EVER comment on MY comment? When you haven't READ IT, idiot. And trust me, since you made the statement you did? YOU DIDN'T READ IT. And I can prove that, beyond any reasonable doubt.
Tell me one other thing, "Brain", what does how fast the truck was going have to do with "killing her", when SHE hit HIM, from behind, except in the scenario I LAID OUT?
The driver BEHIND, is ALWAYS responsible, for what is AHEAD of them. PERIOD. That's why driving is a responsibility, not a "right".
Also at a red light behind a car give yourself a space if something is starting to happen behind you ..well you have a way to move out
Truck drivers load did not shift, hats off to a professional driver!!! Well done sir.
I hope he went to jail
what are you talking about? they rear-ended the trucker...
Albert Lea
According to the title the trucker missed his exit and cut in front of the SUV. So it is the truckers fault.
Yes samé heré thé truck drivér dudunt scáré mé pér say Butt theré Truxx Dô
The front of that xterra says that either the girl was flying or that truck driver was going a lot slower than he claimed.
That's sad Rip young lady
First off from what I've seen over the past 5 years.....there are very few so called professional truck drivers....now it all about the short time and fast haul. No matter who is in the way
She was driving like hell to do that much damage to the trailer, following to close if you ask me? No way can someone cut you off and have that much damage to your car unless you were doing 90mph.
Gatewayvick Right. Not sure why some choose to be dumb and tailgate!
She was NOT following him, he cut her off! He changed his mind about exiting and changed lanes in front of her! READ before you judge.
Not true if the trailer was going 10 to 20 mph.
@@shannh6724 you didn't bother to read the description did you smart ass?
If it’s the Trucker’s fault I hope he goes to prison for manslaughter
Usually when you rear end someone it means you're going too fast so unless he sides wiped her probably not
Common sense is an extremely valuable attribute to have! It's just a shame that most don't obtain it!
How can it be common and scarce? You are a fool.
This was so avoidable. A young womans' life taken because a truck driver wasn't vigilant while driving. So very sad. He'll have to live with his actions for the rest of his life.
she was going to fast whoever hits is always at fault sorry!
They can strengthen that bar, but instead they keep allowing the makers to get by with as little as possible. We see this happen all the time. You see how torqued the rear of her vehicle is? Did the truck driver just stp, or was there mechanical issues?
Prayers for the family 🙏
Wow such a senseless accident, I always give at least 4,5 car lengths away from a semi if I am behind them you never know what might happen, and they really need to make that mansfield bar different,,,,,,.this poor woman lost her life, condolences to all who knew her.
I hope that truck driver got his license revoked. You're in a semi, with a trailer...WITH CARGO. the slightest mistakes can cost lives. It isn't as correctable as driving a 3300 pound car. The DPS should charge him for that.
What? Either you're trolling for responses, or you are certifiable stupid. The semi was REAR ENDED, probably by someone who was texting.
+Dave Kwant youuuu obviously 1 didn't watch the video, 2 read the actual news story.
It may look that way but it states in the beginning the truck missed his exit and cut in front of her! Go to the beginning!
letthebutthurtbegin who's investigating this accident, you or DPS?
I don't understand how anyone is defending the truck driver. By the video description it sounds like the truck driver is at fault. He SWERVED back onto the freeway, so how is that the X-Terra's fault?
6 years ago. SAID THAT PERSON IS RELATED
Sobriety tests are bloody ridiculous... Just breathalyse the person... What a waste of time!!!!
I dont care if the truck swerved back on the freeway, she had to be going to fast or distracted to bend the Mansfield bar like that.
This video only shows the aftermath. How can anyone judge who did what?
Jan B. Accident reconstruction experts are good at what they do..they come out in most cases when a fatality is involved.
So sad! Was the trucker cited for wreckless driving and vehicular manslaughter
So sad for this person to pass alway , however, the Nissan X-Terra is a solid SUV ,Anyway , R.I.P .
4:18 what is up with the semi’s left rear tires? Ok I know they look like racing slicks but why is the inside one so small? R.I.P. to the exterra driver. Prayers for family and loved ones.
The ICC DOT bumper is bent into that tire
Buying a Nissan product wasn’t they’re biggest mistake in life.
I drove an Xterra for awhile and this almosr happened to me. Not saying the car had anything to with it. I always stay away from semis. Rip.
Tires on the Xterra and the trailer tires are only called tires because they are round and black. Anyone notice how bald they were??
Tractor Trailer tires by law are allowed to 2/32in (bald looking). However the passenger car should be replaced at or before 3/32 for safety. No real law for passenger car tire wear in most states
R.I.P TO THE YOUNG LADY A MAY GOD BLESS BOTH THE PARTIES INVOLVED IN THE WRECK
Why would god bless the victims of a tragedy that he could easily have prevented but didn't give a flying fu©k? And don't come with the usual free will bullshit... this woman did not die out of her free will.
The truck didn't even break the flashlight lens. And he didn't even puncture his tire.
why did they cover the windows with the sheet?
I always keep my eyes peeled for possibilities. I trust no one. That's saved my a$$ many times. What's that saying? Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. There's an area by me where the highway splits. I cannot TELL you how many people realize (from the far left lane) 'Oh, shi*! I need to get on the other highway!' And cut across 4 lanes of traffic right in front of everybody. That's why I'm on high alert because I've seen this so many times. I'll be in my car yelling, "GO TO THE NEXT EXIT AND GET BACK ON, A*HOLE!!"
That load was secured pretty darn good.
Sorry. These trucks only create more chaos on our highways.
I have almost been killed by them that don't bother to look if it is ok to change lanes.
They also need to be held accountable.
But when you are dead, you can't really tell your part of the story how you were cut off by an ass hole trucker.
In the future with autonomous vehicles, accidents will be virtually eliminated.
Never take anything for granted. Take those extra few seconds to avoid the unanticipated.
I thought that them Nissan Xterra were though!! The damn thing disintegrated on impact!!
Yeah I have one just like this one and man I see that it’s no match for a big rig
Failure to control speed. It takes quite a bit of speed to put the engine/transmission into the front seat. 80-90mph. Seen lots of these since 2015 ... I bet she had no idea the truck was there until she hit it.
