I just got the Beautyrest copper gel pillow today! So awesome that you reviewed these pillows. I wake up with headaches quite often. Thank you for your honest review. Hope this pillow works!
Wow, great timing! I always have trouble sleeping and I think I'm going to try a memory foam pillow and this helped a lot. Love you and your family (obviously including the pets) and all the work you put into your reviews ❤️
I bought a memory foam pillow that includes a removable washable cover from Target here in Australia for AU$25 (current equivalent US$17). I was skeptical, but it's pretty incredible the way the pressure is spread so evenly. It's definitely helped me get comfortable and fall asleep quicker. Can't believe what a bargain it was compared to the ones tested in the video!
i personally like the beautyrest brand, they work good for me. i also like the sinking feeling in them. i just overall think that beautyrest is a better pillow.
The beauty rest is double-gusseted (two seams, boxier) which is specifically made for side sleepers. It’s meant to give more “ lift” to keep your head more aligned to the spine. The tempurpedic has a single gusset, designed for back sleepers.
I know you published this video a while back but I just came across it today. I have to say that I unfortunately purchased the Tempurpedic pillow about 7 years ago. It cost me $150 and did not provide any cooling properties. As you stated it is very hard but over the coarse of time it only seems to get worse. Not only does it get harder and hotter but it begins to form ridges (bumps) over the entire pillow. With in the first year these ridges were already forming. I use it now under my legs when I’m lying in bed because it is so hard it never went flat. I never tried the Beautyrest memory foam pillow but I might since it looks like it’s something that I might prefer. Thanks and looking forward to more side by side comparison videos.
Thank you for this review, after watching I'm thinking of trying out the Beautyrest pillow. I just have to say I really like your reviews. They are honest and for some reason I find myself giggling. Keep up the great work.
I generally sleep on my front. Head sideways and arm under the pillow with the other arm tucked in. It's not truly sleeping on your front. It's kind of like modified side sleeping up top with your stomach and hips facing the bed.
DumbDuck44. Redwings44 comment actually depicts how I sleep. 2/3 of my body facing the bed and my head sideways. I am referring to people sleeping with their whole body including face, down. Body down face down. Is that how you sleep? Fascinating. Edited to acknowledge the “44” in both your user names. Coincidence?
I have a layered pillow like that tempurpedic. It's hard as a brick too. Bought the beautyrest today, got it leaned against a air purifier for the smell. Worth a shot, thanks for the review
Pillows are such a personal thing & I have yet to find one I really like. I"m pretty sure I've spent a mint on them over the years. So thanks to this review that Beautyrest seems like it might fit my needs. I'm off to Walmart to buy it!
I have the $30 miracle bamboo pillow and it is the best pillow I’ve ever used. That’s just my opinion. It molds to any position. Being made out of the same thing as most, ground memory foam. I like it.
@@dannydaw59 - heads still turned. - I do have a family friend who says they look up (like a bear rug I assume!?), Ive never seen them do that, and it sounds painful. But yeah, i just turn my head to the side.
I own the Beautyrest pillow myself, and I love it. It's so cold that it's disconcerting at first, but a welcome change from a sweaty head and hot face all night. It never really seems to get hot. Room temp at most in my experience.
Now, the comparison we REALLY need is a memory foam versus a very good standard pillow, please. Thanks! Are memory pillows better or is it just more hype than comfort?
I just discovered there are pillows like this. I am so excited I am going to get like 3 of them. I always have problem sleeping at night mostly because of the temperature on the pillow when I lay my head. This has been going on for over 7 years. I am so excited that this solution exists
thanks for confirming it, i have had that beautyrest pillow for 3 years now and i bought it for around $12 in my country and then my baby son (he had 2 years) took it from me saying "mine, this is mine" and as every father, one will give in. been looking for this exact same pillow everywhere with no luck and tried looking for some similar to it, even some expensive tempur pedic pillow and none worked for me.
Haha my brother is a front sleeper and when we were growing up I used to imitate him, and he said the same thing... "I don't know why I sleep that way!"
I actually did some research into the best pillow and many doctors in the sleep studies are recommending that people have more than one pillow. One compared it to shoes, they said you have different shoes for different days, one for mowing the lawn, one for basketball, cleats for soccer, maybe a fancy pair for date night. The same way you might want to have a softer or harder pillow on different days. The interesting thing about the firm/soft comparison is that they usually say the very firm ones are for side sleepers since they have to hold your head maybe 4 inches depending on how wide your shoulders are. I actually really like the miracle bamboo pillow because it is so thick and firm that it keeps my fat head up when I lay on my side. It DID take a while for it to soften up a bit and become really comfortable, but it is nice to have something that wears in instead of wearing out. I also keep a couple down pillows from costco on hand because they are very very soft and good for stomach sleeping. But my favorite is the sobakawa pillow. I think mine was the beans72 from amazon because the reviews said it has the most sobakawa, but there is an As Seen On TV version that's worth checking out.
I watched this video before deciding to buy the Tempur-pedic pillow. I bought the pillow because I'm a side sleeper and recently I was diagnosed with a pinched nerve stemming from my neck. I've had the pillow a couple of nights now and I felt immediate relief after the first use. I highly, highly recommend this pillow to side sleepers. To me, it offers the right kind of support without being too stiff. It also doesn't stink like many other memory pillows do. I'm about 5'10" and got the medium height pillow. I can't recommend it enough.
I’m a front sleeper and looking for a good pillow. So far my best pillows are just cheap pillows that become pretty flat. I can sleep without a pillow but prefer a pillow, I need a little support. I wonder what the Beaty rest would be like as a front sleeper.
I do not own the Tempur-pedic that you tried out but I own three others and I love all three. Wouldn’t sleep on anything else. All three are very soft and work well for back sleeping and side sleeping.
I found an off-brand at WalMart for $20. Did not even have any sort of branding at all. But looking under the cover, it is the exact same thing as they $50 BeautyRest pillow. I have had this pillow for a couple years and it is still fantastic!! Absolute best pillow ever!
I sleep on my stomach mostly. Sometimes I will flip onto my side, but I can't fall asleep on my side or back. I have to be on my stomach to go to sleep. Made my pregnancies real interesting once I got to mid 2nd trimester or so.
I like your exploration of who might like each pillow. Your acknowledgement that the "best" choice might be different for everyone is part of what makes your reviews great. P.S.: I, too, am a shifty front-sleeper. We're everywhere!
Interesting I come across this right now. I'm looking for a pillow. I'm thinking of trying to Coop adjustable shredded cooling gel memory foam version.
I picked up a memory foam pillow off Amazon for around $40 that I really like. It has 3 layers and you can take out the middle to lower it depending on what helps you get comfortable. I don't know the name of it offhand, but I'm sure if you were to run a search you could find it. I like it because I have a waterbed which you'll sink into a bit, so being able to lower the pillow itself definitely helps.
Have you done a review on memory foam topper pads? I know you've done beds but those are way more expensive than the topper pads. I got one and it's like a brand new bed for less than $100 but when I looked at them before I bought one there must have been a hundred different ones. Very confusing.
I could sleep on a brick when I was younger and not get any neck pain. Now I'm older my neck is like "No this pillow is too hard" "This pillow is too soft" "This pillow is too high" etc. like are you serious you bastard!! 😭
I layed that same exact temper pillow in the sun for a few hours with 2, 25lb weights and made a huge difference if leveling out the softness... This can naturally be done just sleeping on it every night for a couple months, but Ive done this with 3 temper pillows now & it works 👍🏼
Orthopedic pillow designed by chiropractors to provide personalized comfort, proper sleeping position, and comfortable support Hurry up to buy before it runs out of stock through this link
I have a Serta memory foam pillow. It took about a week of straight use to get used to, but about 7 or 8 years later, it's still my favorite pillow and has not flattened or broken down as of yet. You can't really go wrong with memory foam in my opinion.
I use the tempur original contour pillow to this day, it is pricey at 134 bucks, but it is a HEAVY pillow that is very comfortable. It flattens, but tends to stop in just the right position. When I say heavy? It will shake a queen mattress if dropped from 2 feet.
I'm the opposite - I used to sleep on my stomach a lot, but now, if I spend more than 30 minutes on my stomach, my back aches even more than usual. But before my back went bad, I loved sleeping on my stomach. Also, lying on my stomach, kicking my feet in the air, to read books. I miss my youthful body. Ah, well.
I bought the tempurpedic as a side sleeper and love it. I don’t like my head sinking in like most pillows. The tempurpedic has two sides and they both feel different. This pillow provides great head support if that is what you are looking for as a side sleeper.
I noticed that the one is stuffed more evenly where as the other one has more stuffing in the center. Making a difference in how the neck is supported vs side or back sleeping
I have a Tempur-pedic TEMPUR-ProForm Luxury King Pillow high profile, it was about 80 at the time. I was very hesitant on buying it because I only have ever had cheap pillows. I have had it for about 8 months now and I love it. The best way to describe it is that it's firm and soft and oh so comfortable. My only complaint is I wish it was thicker which isn't a huge deal because I slept with 2 pillows all my life. I keep a old cheap flatten pillow under it to give me the height I want, part of reason is I have broad shoulders and sleep on my side.
I bought a Wal-Mart one years back it's still amazing like new yet cant buy them anymore 😒 and having a bad back it sucks...btw Lowe's has a back brace $14 ish so amazing
I have the Beauty Rest pillow. I LOVE it. So much so I have taken it to show a couple family members who are hard to please pillow wise. I wasn’t looking for a pillow but passed through that aisle & it caught my eye. The cool touch is what made me buy it. I like that as well as the soft memory feel. I don’t recall any odor at first. I have yet to put a pillowcase on it for the reason you addressed. I’m mostly a side sleeper, occasionally a back one & never on my stomach. I chuckled when you pointed to the tags having to go. I’m lying on my pillow r/n & those pesky tags 🏷 have yet to go. I’ve never spent $50 bucks on a pillow before but this one has been worth it. So much so I may buy a second one.
Yep, Tempurpedic does lose its...umpfh. We bought the bed... we are spooners... middle after 8 months just as drippy as a box spring... they replaced... happened again went to the Latex bed. Haven't regretted it since. They have the pillows you can add or subtract the filling to and so far my hubby (by far the pickiest for beds and pillows) like these pillows the best, and believe me we've invested in hundreds of dollars worth of pillows. Now about to try the purple harmony... I'm the one interested in that. Always enjoy your reviews, thanks a ton! Smiles and blessings...

I still love my Purple pillow!, Thanks for your review on that, I bought it because of your video, which is when I started watching you. Keep up the good work.
So I have the Tempur-Pedic pillow and I loved it at first but it has been 3 months now. Since I'm a side sleeper (that has their head at the end of the pillow) it tends to flatten and soften very easy now but if you sleep on your back in the middle of the pillow it works just as good the day I bought it. I still sleep with it and I have had many stiff pillows from Sleep Number and Tempur-Pedic.
I have a much older Tempur Pedic pillow that I bought 10 years ago when I bought my TempurPedic mattress. It is an unconventional shape, flat on one side and wavy on the other, with a low roll on one edge and higher roll on the other. My pillow has definitely developed a small dent on the higher roll edge that I prefer. I have also found that the pillow and mattress, which are made of the same material, start hard, but as they absorb my body heat soften up.
I got a latex foam pillow at a mattress store like 7 years ago and it's the same as day one, it's the most comfortable side sleeping pillow I've ever used. See if you can find and review a latex pillow
Compare either one with a Sleep Number pillow, available at Sleep Number stores. They have several different mix n' match configurations so you can get the best customized pillow at a more reasonable price.
I recently purchased enerplex King pillows and they are the best pillow I bought in a long time. They were a few bad reviews on Amazon but so many good reviews. And I am super glad that I purchased them. I think they're about a hundred bucks for two. I promise you I don't work for the company but you can't go wrong you purchase them and if you don't like it send the pillows back. But I was extremely happy when I received them. Thanks
What they call vented or reactive memory phone that has holes in it is actually the best kind of memory foam out there I got a donated pillow from cosco very similar looking to that beauty rest and I used it for well over I hear before it became unusable for me because I have a issues with my But when I 1st used it it was one of the most comfortable old memory foam pillows I'd ever used and the usually very hard and uncomfortable and I didn't have problems with it until it basically wore out
I have tempur pillow. Got about a week to get used to it but since then it has been the best pillow ive ever had. Ive been using it for years now and it is still on top condition. Worth every cent
You should try out the Bedgear Rain 3.0 Performance Pillow! There's other variants of the pillow too, I've used the rain one for a few years now and I like it a lot. I was iffy at first because of how big it is but it has the right softness and firmness imo, and it would be interesting to see you review them. :)
I have the tempur cool breeze like 10 pound pillows. The first year I had them I couldn't sleep with them and they spent like 6 months in my closet and as decorative pillows and I thought I wasted $300. Fast forward two years and they are the best cooling and most comfortable pillows I've ever had. I promise in a year the beauty rest will be a soft couch cushion and the Tempur will be just getting nice and broke in.
Tempur pedic products are for back sleepers primarily. Always have been. Their other pillows are geared to back sleepers. Back sleeping is the preferred sleeping position anyway
I got a comfort revolution pillow years ago from Costco. It has a cooling gel side I think I paid around $80.00 Canadian for it. It is one of the best pillows I have purchased, it is nice and soft and it still looks brand new, the trick is to get a pillow protector for it. I also have a pillow you fill with water it's pretty neat, I think you should do a video comparing a water pillow to a foam one to a cheap Wal-Mart pillow and why not toss in the purple pillow you have as well.
I have quite expensive memory foam pillow (a bit different design to these, a more solid single peice), but in the end most comfortable pillow i've had was my 5 €/$ pillow in army ;D
I Love the Beautyrest. I'm a hot sleeper...and I just turn my pillow around...not over, around. It is cold. And after, LITERALLY 13 pillows, shredded, gels, foams, adjustable, everything...this is my new best friend...🥰🥰 2 Months and I'm still in love with it. It even scrunches really good. 🥰
I cannot stand form factor pillows as I move around a ton when sleeping and need a pillow that can shift its weight around. I've tried a ton of pillows and the one I ended up with is comprised of really low tech foam puffs? It looks really old too. =) Sad I know.
I have beauty rest and never noticed the 24 got decompress time.... But I will tell you that pillow is really cold at first feels great and it stopped my snoring and I'm a heavy heavy snorer but it is hard to get used to because it does seem thin
I had a pillow very much like the beautyrest and it was amazing best memory foam and also doesn't change shape stays nice and soft and I think the beautyrest is just a bigger version.
I'm a side sleeper that would likely prefer the firmer Tempur-Pedic. But there are many options in that price category, and at $150 I would definitely try several of them in person before making up my mind. My current pillow is ~$150 Octospring pillow and I LOVE it.
Seems like the Purple Pillow is an America only product, I get 2 pack products from either Dunelm or Ikea in the UK, no need to go expensive and although it says not to I put mine in the wash machine. Still sleeping well on 7 year old products, earlier days memory foam technology.
I’m struggling already for years to find a good pillow. I’m using now 2 normal regular pillows in a pillowcase but it’s already not good enough for me. I like them soft but filling up the space between shoulder and head. I’m a side sleeper but when my pillow is to thin I’m a back sleeper.

I can’t use a pillow without a pillow case🤪
Yes it’s gross
@@baddie1shoe how
For this test. He had to to see if it stays cool as it says. His other test of pillows did use pillow cases.
“Front Sleeper” comment cracked me up. I agree.
Statistics say that 16% of sleepers are front sleepers, making that 1.2 billion people sleeping that way. Its an audience worth addressing.
@@blamegame1013 I don't think anyone actually does that, full on and face down. You'd likely suffocate.
RedWings-44. I don’t know. Lol. Thats what I imagine. This is just a friendly assumption and comment. Doesn’t really matter I guess.
I have a layered pillow like that tempurpedic. It's hard as a brick too. Bought the beautyrest today, got it leaned against a air purifier for the smell. Worth a shot, thanks for the review
I just love this beauty rest pillow. It was hard to get it because it was always out of stock. I’d buy this pillow 100 times over.
I like it.
Side and stomach sleeper here, I got the beauty rest pillow about a month ago. Its hands down one of the best pillows I've ever had.
How do you breath when sleeping on your stomach?
@@dannydaw59 - heads still turned. - I do have a family friend who says they look up (like a bear rug I assume!?), Ive never seen them do that, and it sounds painful. But yeah, i just turn my head to the side.
smell?
I own the Beautyrest pillow myself, and I love it. It's so cold that it's disconcerting at first, but a welcome change from a sweaty head and hot face all night. It never really seems to get hot. Room temp at most in my experience.
You are awesome with this consistent content ❤️
Now, the comparison we REALLY need is a memory foam versus a very good standard pillow, please.
Thanks!
Are memory pillows better or is it just more hype than comfort?
I know it's hard to understand our front sleeping ways, but I promise we mean no harm.
no no no you can't be trusted..... jk
Front sleeper here it's actually really easy
I enjoy sleeping front the most buy my lower back and my neck complaints are too often to ignore so back sleeping is my main sleep position.
ohla300 I sleep in different positions, occasionally face in a textbook, others with my face shoved in a pillow, or on a log/ledge thing
If only John Bonham was a front sleeper.
I just discovered there are pillows like this. I am so excited I am going to get like 3 of them. I always have problem sleeping at night mostly because of the temperature on the pillow when I lay my head. This has been going on for over 7 years. I am so excited that this solution exists
Get silk pillow case
How did you go?
thanks for confirming it, i have had that beautyrest pillow for 3 years now and i bought it for around $12 in my country and then my baby son (he had 2 years) took it from me saying "mine, this is mine" and as every father, one will give in. been looking for this exact same pillow everywhere with no luck and tried looking for some similar to it, even some expensive tempur pedic pillow and none worked for me.
7:13 "Front sleepers: I'm just not going to address that."
Bruh we don't understand why we do it either 😂😂😂
Haha my brother is a front sleeper and when we were growing up I used to imitate him, and he said the same thing... "I don't know why I sleep that way!"
I like my women how I like my pillows, thick and soft.
Absorbent too ?
@Koby B here's the thing

Interesting. Sometimes knockoffs are a good deal.
I'm thinking of trying to Coop adjustable shredded cooling gel memory foam version.
mandolinman2006 it’s a great pillow, do buy it, I did,
I picked up a memory foam pillow off Amazon for around $40 that I really like.
I haven't but I've been looking into that. Those toppers are not cheap but I may pull the trigger and compare a few of them.

Love the vids! Super helpful seeing what products are good.
Sleeping on your stomach is an art in it of itself, wake up with no back pain and it feels great
Marth Flores it’s the only way I can sleep.
Ah, well.
I sometimes find myself on my stomach when I wake up and my back and neck hurt when I get up after sleeping in that position.
I am 33 (almost 34) and no issues yet. Only thing that makes my back sore apart from work (I drive all day) is a crappy mattress.
My arm goes numb most of the time because I sleep on it. #frontsleepproblems
I’ll stick to my $100 10lbs pillow.
I agree
Same! Bought a purple pillow based on his review and no regrets !
Love my bamboo pillow after I broke it in. It is now substantially thinner and has been perfect for over 2 years.
That’s a couch cushion
hahahah
One bonus to weds day off being sorta early to a freaking reviews video! Hope you and dogs and family are well James!
Just like you. I love a nice flat and soft pillow with a somewhat silky pillow case. Comfy side sleeper heaven!
I love these videos. You have saved me so much money. Thanks!
Oooh, tell me more about this Lowe's bck brace
JOSHaka OGER do you sleep in the back brace?
If you still have the tag you may be able to buy it online! I have been gobstopped at all the stuff you can buy online
I use the Serta stay cool pillows from Kohl’s, which is $150 for king sized. It never felt too hard or thick and it stays cool for me.
i dont know how much you read comments but i love ur videos and ive been watching for a bit over a year love them and hope you keep them up. i know some times people get sick of youtube but i hope you dont quit. thank you for all the entertainment you have given me and sorry for bad grammer i am not the best at spelling.
I really appreciate it. I don't always read comments (depends on how much hate I can take haha), but I'm glad you find my videos enjoyable. I'll do everything I can to keep putting out the best videos I can!
I still love my Purple pillow!, Thanks for your review on that, I bought it because of your video, which is when I started watching you. Keep up the good work.
Woohoo! Fresno native here! I love your videos. Keep up the great work!
I’m really glad I watched this! Been considering Tempur pillows. I didn’t even know about beauty rest
You missed a trick by not having the Pillow Police show up when you tore off those labels. :)
He's the consumer...
@@MrPAULONEAL I'm pretty sure that was a joke
I like the shape of the beauty rest and the fact that it is softer. Thanks for the review.
I was looking at memory foam pillows. Some have a hot side and cool side. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing??
Great review. Love your honesty - Thank you. Will help me make my decision.
Thanks
What they call vented or reactive memory phone that has holes in it is actually the best kind of memory foam out there
I got a donated pillow from cosco very similar looking to that beauty rest and I used it for well over I hear before it became unusable for me because I have a issues with my
But when I 1st used it it was one of the most comfortable old memory foam pillows I'd ever used and the usually very hard and uncomfortable and I didn't have problems with it until it basically wore out
I have tempur pillow. Got about a week to get used to it but since then it has been the best pillow ive ever had. Ive been using it for years now and it is still on top condition. Worth every cent
The best pillow is a Zoned Dough!!!! It’s like the Beautyrest but shaped like a regular pillow. It never ever goes flat or loses its shape.
I'll check it out!

You should try out the Bedgear Rain 3.0 Performance Pillow! There's other variants of the pillow too, I've used the rain one for a few years now and I like it a lot. I was iffy at first because of how big it is but it has the right softness and firmness imo, and it would be interesting to see you review them. :)
Great and thorough review as always, thanks James appreciate you.
Thanks Michelle!
Great review. I wonder if we can get any of these pillows in New Zealand? Will need to investigate.
I can't get past the title... $50 is cheap for a pillow?
It's a memory foam pillow, that's why.
Agree
A decent goose down pillow will cost anywhere from $80 to over $200 so it depends on how important pillow comfort is to you.
Tempur pedic products are for back sleepers primarily. Always have been. Their other pillows are geared to back sleepers. Back sleeping is the preferred sleeping position anyway
The tempurpedic i have and it needs to bebroken in, when it does break in its a incredible pillow!
Aren't pillow sheets a thing in the US?
Sad I know.
I used the beauty rest the first 24 hours I didn’t notice the important note on it. Now it’s extra soft
I’m struggling already for years to find a good pillow. I’m using now 2 normal regular pillows in a pillowcase but it’s already not good enough for me. I like them soft but filling up the space between shoulder and head. I’m a side sleeper but when my pillow is to thin I’m a back sleeper.
Thank you for your comparison of memory foam pillow!
Could you please review the Curkel and other infuser water bottles
