- Increased horsepower, safety, blade choice, and dust collection are all demonstrated in this video. This 1948 Delta band saw is now able to cut through anything I can throw at it. I couldn't find much info on the 1 HP Dayton motor but it looks to be from the 60's or 70's and I picked it up at the farm auction for $15. All it needed was a new cord so that was a major score! Love the plexiglass belt guard!
Like what you have done! Have a 1953 version similar saw, and just going through it and servicing what’s required. Next is a riser block and motor upgrade.
I think building guards can be a pia, and you did a great job.. it’s great that you can see the belt in operation.
Love what u have done with that old bandsaw.
I feel the same way about machine covers. It's not my fingers I'm so worried about -- it's my kids'!
very cool!
Hey Kyle , Nice Job !!! Regards BobLee
Looks like the saw is running great. What size pulleys are you running on the saw and motor?
