    I do not see many police cars "cruising" around the roads in South London or the M25/M23. They are only seen when the blues and twos are on. I think this is the reason for the drop in driving standards. Good explanatory video, some useful tips.

      No the drop in driving standards is down to the flood of invading immigrants, and immigrants teaching people to drive.

    My argument with the 20mph limit is why is the pedestrian in the road without looking or using a crossing in the first place. Seems like you can’t fix stupid so you penalise the driver instead. Secondly 20mph does not help the environment, you’re driving for longer and looking at your cars mpg at 20mph with tell you everything you need to know about whether it’s working.
    Side note, disabling your stop start is not illegal and has nothing to do with safety.

    Definatley an informative video, I've been pulled twice on the motorway riding a 125cc motorbike, both stops were to check I had the correct licence and not just taken the L plates off. Both stops were plesant even though I was anxious. Many thanks to Owen and yourself.

    Drugs wipes are a joke. You can go positive on one 3 weeks after use of cannabis. Anyone who has ever smoked would know you’re not impaired after 2 hours maximum. Curious to see what Owen thinks of prescription cannabis as I have friends that have been drug wiped but have a prescription and the case got tossed at court.

      Must be crap stuff if you feel normal after 2 hours. I don't smoke it any more but when I was young and used to I didn't feel right enough to cycle after 10 hours let alone 2

    • @hasky9813
      @hasky9813 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      The drug wipe isn't what you're prosecuted on though, you then have to give a blood sample. There are legal limits for concentration of the substance in the blood. It's unlikely that you'll be over the limit after 3 weeks. If you chose to use illegal drugs (Ignoring if they should or shouldn't be illegal...), you run the risk of testing positive on the drug wipe and having to give a blood sample.

      @@hasky9813 and people that smoke every night for medical reasons that are most definitely not impaired the next day? Will be well over the limit even tho they aren’t impaired. The big gripe most people have is just because it’s in your system doesn’t mean you are high

    GCM, I think it's pertinent to elaborate on some of the signals that Police might look for for confirmation that you are going to comply with the stop, but want to go somewhere that you feel is safer. Would things a flash of the hazards or a brief left-hand signal be enough, or would the officer initiating the stop be looking for something else?

    The Betari Box is not a one way street. Several years ago I was given 'attitude' from the off by a particularly obnoxious police officer. He tried to target me for an (according to him) illegal number plate. Unfortunately he was completely unaware of Section 14a of the 2002 Amendment to the Regulations. I don't know what his problem was (lack of sleep, had a row with his domestic partner, whatever) but he was a total embarrassment to that particular constabulary. I have only ever been stopped twice and the other time the officer was 100% professional in his dealing.

      That's not technically true. You must stop for a constable on uniform when required to. The livery on the vehicle is irrelevant. With that said, police take a pragmatic approach to this, especially when people are vulnerable.

    What about speed giveway when driving,for example in a 60mph, can you drive at 64mph as from older cars are harder to stick the arrow dead on 60 and is there a 10% speed allowance?

    • @415volts
      @415volts วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You won't get done at 64 - general rule (for camera's and most forces anyway) is 10% + 2 for action - so 68 will see action taken. Trafpol can pull you though as it's an offence to go even 1mph over technically, but I've never heard of anyone being done for less than the 10% +2

    Mate firstly the speed limit should be 70 on motorways this is fair slowing it down won’t help so much, more importantly you think clearing or reading codes fixes things. Leave it to people who know cars. Paying or diagnosis is normally done by a qualified tech who understands how systems work.

    Utter rubbish...🙄 Regarding the comment on speed, look at a car from present day and look at a car from 50yrs ago no one can say a car from the 1960s is safer than present day, the list is endless....👌 I know have friends within the emergency services and over the last 3 decades injures are less...👌 infact lots of people haven't lost there life because vehicles are so much safer, speed limits do not fit modern vehicles they probably did in 1960 in your ford cortina or vauxhall Viva but not vehicles from today....👍

    He's wrong there is nothing in the law saying you have to carry your driving licence with you or any identification whilst driving there the producer they can issue that gives you time to take it to a police station

    • @GCMYT
      @GCMYT  21 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      The law says that you have to produce your documents when required to do so. However, the HORT or producer, used to be there as an option to give the driver 7 days to produce to the police station as it was accepted that people didn’t always carry those documents. It didn’t negate the fact that the law requires you to produce at the time. It was effectively being nice. Its not used often these days as the documents are normally available to police online

    • @NoBody-gf8ie
      @NoBody-gf8ie 19 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      A producer is at the discretion of the officer they can choose the one or they can choose to deal with things at the roadside
