  • Join veteran KUAM reporter Nick Delgado as he goes behind bars to investigate the conditions at the Guam Department of Corrections' prison facilities. It's a raw, revealing, shocking and honest look at resources that are massive need of rehabilitation themselves.

If the majority are Chuukese, why has our government not engaged with the Chuukese government to be returned and imprison them in their home country or islands?

A lot of them are not just immigrants they are born and raised on the island meaning they’re U.S. even if they did deport them the governments in chuuk is just as corrupted as the one on the island. It’s either they waited out for their sentences or they’re possibly awaiting deportation.

Maybe if the government would start focusing on the community, INCLUDING the jails and schools, INSTEAD of giving themselves more raises and holidays, our friends and family's wouldn't end up in jail to begin with.
The greed that has overtaken our leaders is disgusting and selfish!
Our teachers and students suffer daily as violence seems to be the new normal within the deplorable and unacceptable structures falling down around them.
How can we expect our children to grow into righteous and acceptable members of the society when their leaders are corrupt and negligent?
Where is ALL the funding? I'm a single mother of a 4 year old autistic boy, who is facing eviction and cannot find ANY help at this time from our local agencies that were created specifically for people in need! Where have ALL the grants gone that were provided to assist our community!?! It seems our homeless population is GROWING along with the pockets of our leaders!
And these are the same people telling us we "don't have the money" to do anything about these conditions!
    BULLSHIT!
If you go to Tumon, its like a whole new world! EVERYTHING seems to be maintained regularly and in pristine condition. The roads are the best on island. The landscape is kept up with precision. Even the damn sidewalks are PAINTED!
And for what, or should I say WHO!?! For the tourists!?! How about we take those tourists on a field trip around Guam, the REAL Guam! Let's bring them to our schools. To our jails. Let them truly SEE Guam as we do!
We need to spend less time and money trying to put on a front for our "guests", and clean up our home for our own community and the future of our families.
If we don't do something soon, Guam is going to continue to crumble around us as the spotlight on tourism distracts the attention from our community and the increasingly bulging pockets of our "leaders".
I can't even find a playground to walk to with my son! Not one! And we expect our children to grow up to be successful individuals who contribute positive morals and ethics to our society?
How is that possible when their world is literally falling down around them? The people they look up to are literally stealing their future and any hope thereof every time they choose to brush off ignore, and "cobjob" the facilities used to TEACH us how to be a contributing member of society! And they do it with a smile and a "sorry". They aren't sorry, they are STEALING our future and the funds provided to create one!
It's time we reevaluate our priorities Guam, before it's too late! Our family's and lifelines are our responsibility! There is no reason ANYBODY should be subject to these cruel and inhumane conditions, I don't care WHAT they have done!
And when our schools look just as bad a the prisons out here, we have a SERIOUS problem!!!
Take that money back out of your pocketbook, and put it BACK into our society, our community! Or in the not so distant future, we are going to need to build more prisons, as our youth grow up learning the negative and corrupt ways of their leaders, rather than righteous paths from a loving, caring, community who PUTS THEIR PEOPLE, BEFORE their pocketbooks!
    Our kids need us.
Our criminals need us, they are our families and friends.
Let's be the ones to BREAK this generational CURSE that has been slowing ripping our families apart!
Be the change you wish to see! It starts with YOU!
God bless Guam and everyone here! Amen

@cornyconnie GovGuam isn’t the reason you’re getting evicted. Why don’t you try getting a job? Lol you milk the government so you don’t need to work or be a contributing member of society and the moment you’re required to actually do something with yourself because the government won’t come to your rescue again you start crying that it’s GovGuam employees getting a raise that caused you to get evicted or be on the verge of eviction. That has to be funniest thing I’ve read all week! Why don’t you try to make something of yourself? Your current job of being a full time free loader doesn’t seem to be working out anymore, connie. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
People like you are irritating so I just have to laugh.

@@Heelhook_96 How did you come to that conclusion my friend? 🤔 Have you ever considered SOME people have detrimental circumstances that may hinder them from being able to work at the moment? You CLEARLY have never had any medical emergencies that have temporarily debilitated you to where you COULDN'T work AS YOU USUAL DO!
I obtained my working papers when I was 14 (the earliest age possible in NY). I started working ON THE BOOKS, and PAYING MY TAXES like every other "contributing member of society". And from that point on, I NEVER went without a job! And if you care to do your research, you will see that not only have I worked 24 out of my 40 yes alive, but MANY years I was working MULTIPLE jobs, ON THE BOOKS, PAYING TAXES.
I'm currently out of work because I physically CAN'T work right now! And not that it's your business, but since you have decided to not only judge me based on your opinions, but you have sent so far as to watch many of my videos and write RUDE and hateful comments on ALL of them, I'm going to let you in on a little secret of mine...
Nevermind the fact that I was ran over by a car out here in Tumon, Guam on Dec 7, 2011, TWICE (look it up, PNC news) which broke my pelvis in half, front AND back, and RUPTURED MY SPLEEN, I CONTINUED working, ON THE BOOKS, as SOON as I was able to walk again and no longer needed a wheelchair to get around.
Nevermind the fact that I was a passenger in a seperate car accident in NY on November 7, 2015 on Cobb st in Groton and SHATTERED my L4 vertebrae in my back, broke my 4th rib on the left, and had SEVERE whiplash, I CONTINUED to work, ON THE BOOKS, as soon as I didn't need a walker to assist me in getting around.
Nevermind the fact that my ex used to physically abuse me, and threw a wad of keys at me while I was pregnant, and I tripped as I tried to run away from him which caused me to go into labor early the very next day on August 14, 2019, and my son came out halfway, feet first, and they had to cut me open one hip to the other and pull him back thru and out of my stomach before we both died. I had 15 staples with that. And I was BACK TO WORK within 2 months, ON THE BOOKS, PAYING TAXES.
Nevermind the fact that I had covid pneumonia,,Delta version, in Sept of 2021 and spent almost 9 days in the telemetry ward at GMH on oxygen in the verge of death, and I CONTINUED to pay MY bills with MY unemployment PAYCHECKS.
Nevermind the fact that I have a RARE genetic condition called 'Incontinentia Pigmenti' that has caused me to LOSE 9 BABIES from miscarriages throughout the years and I STILL, continued to work, ON THE BOOKS, PAYING TAXES.
And here we are! And WHAT might you say, could possibly be the reason I CAN'T work?
I have notable amounts of blood, protein, RBC, epithelial squamous cells, and bacteria in my urine. Fresh blood in my stools. Swollen lymph nodes. High cholesterol. High LDL-Cholesterol, calc. And high Non-HDL cholesterol, calc.
I have low glucose levels. Low creatinine. Low eGFR CKD-EPI Cr 2021 levels. High hemoglobin, high hematocrit, + high Red blood cell count. And
      I have low RDW.
I apparently have fluid in my anterior uterine segment, and fluid in my endometrial cavity.
I have two low T2 signal fibroids in my fundus and mildly prominent parauterine vessels due to mild pelvic congestion.
My pulse has been unstable and jumping as high as 220 BPM resting heart rate! And last month they found 2 seperate 0.5cm asymmetries in my right breast that are of concern.
All the while I'm taking care of my 4year old autistic son by myself, and hauling him in the stroller wherever we need to to, which is an added 42lbs to the already 15+lb stroller that I'm pushing in the 85°F weather, to get to my appointments and back!
You can check and verify that EVERYTHING I am saying is 100% TRUE!
It sounds to me that you have been submissive and gave in to the enemy. That stronghold was TOO strong for you, and you are literally just desperately searching for ANYONE to talk shit to or about to lower their vibration rather than put in any EFFORT to raise yours!
God bless you my friend. May you be free from the bonds of slavery.

The problem with Guams cash flow is that they are not taxing these big businesses the way they do in the states. Revenue is not being circulated throughout the island. Therefore this leads to budget shortages to provide for schools, prisons, and road constructions. Upper chain of commands are getting paid an exponential amount of money but yet can't supply the backbone of workers who work for the community.

Prisons are a huge money maker stateside. There's no real money in servicing such a small prison population, which may explain lack of funding? In Hawaii plenty of prisoners get sent off to other states due to lack of facilities. Money goes to those states, Hawaii loses jobs, and prisoners lose access to visits from family. Rehabilitation??
