I seriously doubt no one doubted he would make it. He made it so people say that. But when people 1st heard he was going to BUDS you mean to tell me no one said he wont make it?

After listening to all of Jocko’s podcasts it is obvious he is a very intelligent motivated person who will succeed at whatever endeavor he undertakes . What I noticed in this interview with his shipmate who began their navy experience together was how perfect this navy career was for Jocko at that time in his life. Whenever Jocko recounted an experience they shared together it brought back shear joy to his face filled with laughter and good times. Thank you for this further look into this warriors life’s experiences in the teams.
I went to kindergarten with Chris. We all knew he was tough as nails and would grow up to be either a rodeo champion or a Hollywood stuntman. It turned out we were fairly close.
Hey Jocko, I've watched almost all your videos. I think you laughed the most on this one for sure... it's always cool to connect with your old school friends again...
Going after a singular goal, like paying off a credit card, is more motivating and rewarding than tackling multiple objectives at once. Pick one and get after it. Then move to the next one.
I know Jocko never likes to "glorify" BUDs, but man, it was so cool hearing these first hand stories most of us have never heard before. Nice work fellas
Clearly it is so cool to hear Jocko talk to someone that he served with and enjoyed being with and yet soooo different than BTF Tony who he also enjoyed talking with.
He prove the point you can be the grey man, dont have to be a muscle-up-loud mouth-always figthing-douche bag to be strong. I relate strongly to this guy.
These personal story episodes are my favorite, 2nd would be the book reviews. As a Navy veteran myself, the stories just take me back to some great times. Thanks, Chris for sharing- and thanks Jocko for continuing to ask, " ....and then what did you do after that?"
My Dad was a Radioman in the Navy from 1960 to 1965. Just a "Regular" Sailor not a SEAL. I was TAD to Norfolk in 2005 or 2006 and went to the Radio school that he went to ( big old red brick bldg up towards the airfield) and took some pics for him. He loved it. Ive been Retired from the Marine Corps for over 10 years now. And my Dad is 80 YRS OLD. He still Cusses people out in MORSE Code in public. and uses it to talk under his breath when something pisses him off...

I really love how jocko shakes his head in a kind of wonderment and says to Chris "Chris man how you doing ", and I also loved the way they went into buds I love the buds water stories and the pool competition stuff for some reason.
Jocko, I know you met my childhood friend, Bryant Young. He died on a contract. I still want to hear you say anything good or bad about him, because I want to hear anything about him after he went into the Navy.

On the record , all seals are on a level playing field . But behind the scenes , some seals have a less stressful , more sleep experience than others .
From what I've gathered from all the episodes here, it seems each job trades something for another-- sleep is only one dimension of tradeoff. Other forms of discomfort and danger exist.
What a great life.. my heart sunk when he got into the cancer part...What a relief to hear everything turned out ok! I love the storo of you and your wife, what an inspiration. I'm going to go kiss and give my gf a big hug and throw her over my shoulder.

Very “Clark Kent”, but simultaneously you get the feeling that he can handle himself, blow stuff up and do away with bad folks in a very matter of fact fashion. A super nice guy that will also kill you.
20 years worth of leadership and critical thinking. These guys all get out and start businesses and I don't blame them but part of me is upset that more of them aren't going into politics to help re right the ship. I understand that they have given years of their lives in service to this country but we are country being run by those who have no commitment to the constitution or the people.
