The candle she was holding up at the start is Screamin Jay Hawkins , the original singer. She was doing mainly his version with some of her own changes. You mentioned Feeling Good , she does a great live version of that on stage with big band at 10 years old.
Angelina Jordan Astar was born 1/10/2006 in Oslo, Norway Angelina is a music prodigy who started singing at the age of 18 months and won Norways got talent at the age of 8 (she started competition at age 7 and won at age 8) Angelina is blessed to have a very special family that has watched over her while allowing her the freedom of being herself. One big thing that Mother, Sara Astair, insisted was that Angelina has as much of a normal life growing up as possible Sara and Angelina's uncle and manager, Michael Astar limited what performances Angelina would do sometimes saying no to over 90% of the requests even so Angelina has performed all over the world from age 8 to now age 18. Angelina plays the piano, guitar, violin, and flute has sung in 5 languages, and has over 180 covers of all genres all of which will amaze you, Angelina has worked hard for children and humanitarian relief and was the youngest author in Norway with a book (Between two Hearts) a story of why she wears no shoes(from 5 years old on) during a performance.

Great reaction. Those who commented that you looked bored or was confused about what you said clearly wasn't paying attention. Yes, Lindsay had her head on her hand but perhaps she was a little tired, certainly not bored. Also in the end Lindsay commented Angelina was "Awesome" and "For a little girl ALL THAT coming out of her was Impressive." What part of that was confusing??? Brett was bopping his head to the music, smiling, and even conducting the song. How is THAT interpreted as being bored??? Brett also said in the beginning that Angelina's singing is his medicine as he's said numerous times before. Some commentators just wanna be jerks when in fact they're hypocrites, saying something positive then turn around and say something negative. A BIG thanks to those who gave positive feedback and comments. Thank you Lindsay for helping and supporting Brett with the Peace and Love channel. Together you two have great chemistry.
Well she certainly looked bored and uninterested. At one point (where Angelina does her first growl and the scream/whistle) her head was practically under the desk.

She was only 9 years old when she performed this song. It is her tribute to Screamin' Jay Hawkins, an American singer/songwriter. He wrote and performed it in 1956 and Angelina based her performance on the original, although she did make some subtle alterations to both lyrics and melody. As you continue your journey of discovering Angelina, you will come to realise that she does her own arrangements of most of the cover songs she sings. The differences may not be immediately discernible on first listening to them, but they are there. There may be a subtle change in tempo or tone, or more inflexion on some words, or a phrase may differ in pitch from the original. The amount of control that Angelina has over her voice cannot be measured. She never hurries a song. She sings in such a way that the emotions in the lyrics are felt by the listener. In this video did you notice:Angelina finishing some notes and handing them to the pianist, who smiled as he read them? They were her wishes (instructions) to the band how she wished therm to play the music. In the band, she was called a boss.
The original is by Jay Hawkins. If you watch him doing this on black and white TV, you’ll see why she made the choices she made. Note that she changed the script at the beginning and showed Hawkins picture on the candle holder.
She also covered Hawkins’ “Portrait of a Man” (child) in a jam session with this band. Well worth reacting to.
Angelina is barely 9 years old in this performance of I Put a Spell On You. This is her arrangement based on the original from 1956 by Screamin Jay Hawkins. Nina Simone’s version was from the 1960’s. Many others have covered it including CCR. Many people’s know the song from the film Hocus Pocus where it was sung by Bette Midler.
Angriliba was already barefoot at her Noraway’s Got Talent audition at age 7. She was 6 when she had the encounter with the shoeless orphan girl which lead to her performing barefoot. She wrote a book about this at age 9 and became the ypungent published author in Norway.
It's definitely on your end. I watched this dozens of times and it's one of the cleanest mashups I've heard. So sorry you and the young lady didn't get to hear this one. As a side note Bret: You should pull up the lyrics rewrite from Angelina...as many times I've listened to her sing this, l never really paid attention to her lyrics. It's insanely more sophisticated than, Mark Ronson's. I'll try to send a link.
