Really the only thing I was disappointed about in this place is that there weren't any Tera raid dens and Tera Pokemon as far as I could see but it was still a spectacle to see this place!
Well, I think the Terastal phenomenon only exists in Paldea, which basically says that Area 0 is *not* Paldea. And even if the crystals there are the ones that make Terastal possible, maybe the phenomenon is actually the effect the crystals have on the normal dimension, hence why it doesn't happen in Area 0 itself (unless you bring it from the surface)

Given the bugs, I really wish this game could have been delayed at least til January to match PLAs release time frame. Area Zero was such a treat and I wish there was more to it. What we got was so awesome. Pokémon is always a great time when it comes to secret labs, strange Pokémon, and dead scientist with notes left around the lab.
@cringeus 1 it does and considering how more people like the actual comment then ur reply means ur in the minority, also why are u coming here to hate lol
I'm not usually one to be excited for DLC, but Area Zero makes me hope the devs expand on the storyline here and we get more Pokémon from the past and future.
Sameee I hoping In the DLC we'll be able to travel to the past/future(depending on your version) and find new paradox Pokemon, though we probably aren't getting that , who knows though ?
But instead we are going to 2 new areas and their respective legendaries have something to do with Area Zero, hence “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero” being the DLC’s title.
I hope they reveal Area Zero to be a massive sprawling network of underground caverns spanning the entire Paldea region with new undiscovered Paradox Pokémon roaming and 6 and 7-star Paradox raids with permanent sun or Electric Terrain. But that'll never happen.
I can't be the only one that felt like I was ascending to a separate plane of existence when 0:06 hit. Hands down the absolute best wild battle theme in all of pokémon, it's so otherworldly and fits the awe inspiring mystery of area 0 so perfectly. If the Alola games ever get remakes the Ultra Beast battle theme needs to be canned and replaced with a rendition of this, it fits way better than what they actually had.
I love how perfectly this music relates to it's theme. When I tried to explain it to a friend, all I could say was that it "sounded ethereal" and "It feels like a piece that sits outside of time itself". And it has this complexity to it that makes me feel several emotions at once. It's got energy, there's something wistful in there, and it's all around intangible to a specific theme besides what I described it earlier. This is the essence of "outside of time itself".
area zero is definitely my favorite new area in this game, everything about it just felt mysterious and incredible, you learn more about the characters you meet along the first 3 main stories, and even more about what truly happened to the professors and anyone else who ventured into there. seeing the paradox pokemon for the first time gave me chills too, being based off of pokemon we've known for years while also being far stronger is very cool
I would say the map layout of Area Zero was kinda just a spiral down with a few forking paths leading to dead ends, but the vibes man… the VIBES If Gamefreak releases DLC for Area Zero I will get them
The bass gives me Splatoon Octo Expansion vibes. Absolutely love it. Just went shiny hunting for a dragon type yesterday and had one of the most tense times so far. I failed to find a dratini in an outbreak so I went to area zero for a potential Zweilous. Found one in the last minute but while trying to weaken it, my clodsire hit a critical liquidation which brought it to near red. Too, the Zweilous hit Clodsire with a body slam and poison point activated. 1:39 started to play and I had to throw a dusk ball or lose the shiny. Luckily, I got a critical capture. However, it still was too close to comfort.
I know very few games where an overworld theme being cut by a battle theme isnt pissing you off. This transitions so well from the area theme while keeping its _cachet_
I've even noticed that the music that plays when you talk to Trainers always syncs perfectly with the battle theme no matter when you finish the dialog.
Occasionally coming back to this masterpiece of an OST is obligatory. I'll never forget listening to it the 1st time. Haven't had this nostalgic feeling to a Pokemon theme since Black and White(Excluding Peas since it's a remake)
This theme hits different every time I hear it. The range of tempo and instruments are so good with each other and it fits perfectly with the point of the story you're in when exploring Area Zero for the first time
The section at 1:00 is great, and I love how it’s a sort of music foreshadowing into 1:38, introducing the choirs at the very end and adopting the same tone.
I agree, in terms of sheer gameplay, S/V blow Sw/Sh out of the water. It's a shame, because they could've been some of the best Pokemon games ever made if it weren't for all those damn technical issues
This is definitely the best wild pokémon battle theme in the saga, it really makes you feel like you’re fighting in another dimesion that shouldn’t exist
This theme and the ambient area theme are probably some of the best every made for a pokemon game, they easily rival the zinnia and wally ORAS themes for just how fucking amazing that main hook is, being both haunting yet so emotionally wrought! Also never noticed while playing, but that bass line through is some of the funkiest and dirtiest bass lines that has ever been in a pokemon game, straight fire!
Area Zero makes the Distortion World look underdeveloped. Game Freak knocked it out of the park with this one, and I’m usually not one to embrace the newer games.
I will say…Scarlet and Violet has a lot of things in common with Sun and Moon. -The fact that they can be multiple of the box art legendaries. (Like in sword and shield, the protagonist receives a cosmog from the old lady in Freezeington that’ll evolve into either Solgaleo or Lunala depending on the game) and the fact that they are 2 Koraidons and 2 Miraidons. -The ruinous legends are similar to the tapus, both sets share a similar secondary typing (for the tapus fairy, and for the ruinous dark), both sets even having a signature move that halves your current health (Natures Madness for the Tapus, and Ruination for the ruins) -The paradox Pokemon give of a ultra beast vibe since we don’t know much of either, and both paradox Pokemon and ultra beast have abilities that are somewhat similar (ultra beasts having beast boost- every KO boosts the Pokémon’s highest stat, and the Paradox’s have either Protosynthesis or Quark Drive- boosting highest stat in either harsh sunlight or electric terrain) -rival that has a somewhat negative relationship with their parent (Gladion to lusamine and Arven to Sada/Turo) yet they still somewhat care. Those are just some similarities I found *that went on longer than I thought*
The only thing I wish was better about Area 0 was that I wanted more future/past Pokémon. That would have made it ten times better cuz rn there are mostly normal Pokémon with one or two paradox forms, but it’d be so sick if it was filled with many different paradox forms instead of like 5
Hearing this song for the first time, surrounded by my friends in Area Zero really made it feel like this area is filled with Pokémon that aren't from this world. It has an alien like tune to it, but also with the knowledge that you're not alone down there with these strange Paradox Pokémon. (Except when you are alone down there, because once they abandon you to go see Turo, you don't see them again until the Ace Academy Tournament.)
If they could ever make a superior version of this game, they should add trainers that were somehow transported from both the past and the future and after you beat them they just glitch out of existence back to their reality and drop a random rare treasure-item, TM, ingredients, etc. Maybe some of them can Mega-Evolve, and some can have Legendaries of their own.
Everything about this place is both beautyful and uncanny to me. Everytime I go there I am entraced by how marvelous everything is, but I'm constantly haunted by the tragic memories I have from here and have the feeling that I should leave as soon as possible. I both love and dread Area Zero. Quite a paradox indeed.
I love the fact that the riff that plays in this theme, the overworld theme of area zero and the battle vs the professor is the same as the one that plays during a Terra raid battle.
The first time I heard this I was blown away! I was already shocked at the spectacle of Area Zero, it felt like I was somewhere I didn’t belong. Breathtaking yet dangerous. When I encountered the first paradox I saw and THIS kicked in? Man I can’t put into words how phenomenal it was. I used to be on the “new pokemon bad” train but area zero made me realize gamefreak’s still got it
The alien nature of Area Zero honestly gives me such parallels to the Distortion World in Platinum. I can absolutely see Area Zero being how the Distortion World would be done if Platinum had been made today. Just imagine, instead of fighting the Professor at the bottom you get down there just to find Giratina waiting for you… terrifying stuff.
Everything about area zero is amazing it feels like walking into a dystopian location full of dangerously strong Pokémon from the ancient past and the far future it goes to show that the tremendous power of the ancient past and the far future is not a power to be messed with.
this game blew my mind because area zero was actually BEAUTIFUL. like, the music playing in the background fits it so perfectly: a giant mystery hidden away from the rest of the world, housing strange and terrifying pokemon never seen before. yet it's a beautiful paradise, with waterfalls, caves, trees, and giant Terra crystals.
Area Zero is quite possibly the coolest place we've been to in a Pokemon game, rivaled only by the Distortion World from Platinum. The buildup, the lore, the crazy visuals, the atmosphere, everything feels like a whole different game compared to everything else in Scarlet and Violet and any Pokemon game in general. Cannot wait to see what the DLC holds!
I love this song, cause it makes you feel like you're in a place not known to any other man, and when you battle those "things" i makes you feel like they are not pokemon and that you are way to weak to be there

"Rescue" yeah let's go with that
I love how you just have these three other people watching you suffer a horde of strong Pokémon
Especially Nemona, who's born a battle freak
This is one of the best battle songs I've ever heard playing Pokemon they did extremely well with this game I love it
Given the bugs, I really wish this game could have been delayed at least til January to match PLAs release time frame.
Area Zero was such a treat and I wish there was more to it. What we got was so awesome.
Pokémon is always a great time when it comes to secret labs, strange Pokémon, and dead scientist with notes left around the lab.
Honestly the thought of pokemon that existed in times where humans didn’t/couldn’t thrive is terrifying
Is it just me, or does Area Zero feel like a Xenoblade world? I was definitely getting Xenoblade vibes from this place
I felt the same thing hahaha
I knew I wasn't the only one that thought the same thing too
Thought the same thing
It gives me the age of calamity vibes as it sounds like terrako singing
Not the only one, that place is giving me Origin vibes from Xenoblade Chronicles 3
“Man, Volo’s battle was so hype, I don’t know how they can make a finale better than it”
@cringeus 1 you and I both know that’s a lie.
@cringeus 1 Volo had a predictable team and not a super crazy twist. Not to say his reveal was bad, but SV did it way better.
@@ZapNstuff is not
@@X-3181 is
@cringeus 1 it does and considering how more people like the actual comment then ur reply means ur in the minority, also why are u coming here to hate lol
Why am I crying and bopping at the same time I never knew that was even possible
@@spamtong.spamton8416 lmaoooooo!!!!!!!!. How the game runs: dkdjkdskkdkekdc
@@RetroLiminal99444but, they've also pretty much said that after the blueberry academy arc the dlc will all culminate in something at area zero
The bass just punches you in the fucking face in this song and I love it
I can't be the only one that felt like I was ascending to a separate plane of existence when 0:06 hit.
If so they gotta give the sick theme to faba
This theme is so good 🔥🔥🔥
I love how perfectly this music relates to it's theme.
Kinda has an X-files & Dr. Who meets Pokemon battle vibe. Also holy crap the bass line.
Bass lines have been poggers lately.. Illusion Zamazenta/Zacian, this..
area zero is definitely my favorite new area in this game, everything about it just felt mysterious and incredible, you learn more about the characters you meet along the first 3 main stories, and even more about what truly happened to the professors and anyone else who ventured into there. seeing the paradox pokemon for the first time gave me chills too, being based off of pokemon we've known for years while also being far stronger is very cool
THIS OST IS AN ABSOLUTE MASTERCLASS
3:30
man i LOVE this part
SAME. It sounds like they combined tribal chants with modern techno. And it is just GORGEOUS 😍
I was so hyped when I heard the wild theme was different
Hands down to scarlet and violet to have one the best pokemon soundtrack
you are insane mate
slow down
Has some good tracks but overall definitely not hands down
Overall? I'd say that is a solid take
@@loboalcurry touch grass weirdo
I would say the map layout of Area Zero was kinda just a spiral down with a few forking paths leading to dead ends, but the vibes man… the VIBES
If Gamefreak releases DLC for Area Zero I will get them
Area Zero is so much in an another vibe
The music is so... mysterious, magical, dimensional... and epic... it's beautiful
Area Zero felt so amazing in it’s ambience-the music and lighting and environments… absolutely adored it
Everyone talking about the story and the mystery (which I agree with) but like LISTEN TO THE BASS. It literally slaps
The bass line goes so fucking hard. This sounds like some sort of progressive rock music.
This whole area DRIPS with Toby Fox's vibes. You can tell he contributed to more than just musical direction.
0:34 Gladion wants his bass back
This is the best wild theme a pokemon game has ever had, it's beautiful
Does anyone else just like going back to Area Zero for the music?
One of the best theme of pokemon history
Occasionally coming back to this masterpiece of an OST is obligatory.
I'll never forget listening to it the 1st time.
Haven't had this nostalgic feeling to a Pokemon theme since Black and White(Excluding Peas since it's a remake)
This theme hits different every time I hear it. The range of tempo and instruments are so good with each other and it fits perfectly with the point of the story you're in when exploring Area Zero for the first time
That Bass *SLAPS* hard!
The section at 1:00 is great, and I love how it’s a sort of music foreshadowing into 1:38, introducing the choirs at the very end and adopting the same tone.
Technical issues aside, it’s hard to overstate how much of an improvement Scarlet/Violet were from Sword and Shield in literally every aspect.
I agree, in terms of sheer gameplay, S/V blow Sw/Sh out of the water. It's a shame, because they could've been some of the best Pokemon games ever made if it weren't for all those damn technical issues
@@DanTheMan33088 Still, the fact that this Gen delivered on almost EVERYTHING that was promised in Gen 8 is...
something.
I honestly found Area Zero super unsettling, especially with this music
Ah yes the area that looks like every other area in the game but with the brightness up makes the Distortion World look underdeveloped

@@trytheimpzt9682 same but also a touch of the final area
I will say…Scarlet and Violet has a lot of things in common with Sun and Moon.
-The fact that they can be multiple of the box art legendaries. (Like in sword and shield, the protagonist receives a cosmog from the old lady in Freezeington that’ll evolve into either Solgaleo or Lunala depending on the game) and the fact that they are 2 Koraidons and 2 Miraidons.
-The ruinous legends are similar to the tapus, both sets share a similar secondary typing (for the tapus fairy, and for the ruinous dark), both sets even having a signature move that halves your current health (Natures Madness for the Tapus, and Ruination for the ruins)
-The paradox Pokemon give of a ultra beast vibe since we don’t know much of either, and both paradox Pokemon and ultra beast have abilities that are somewhat similar (ultra beasts having beast boost- every KO boosts the Pokémon’s highest stat, and the Paradox’s have either Protosynthesis or Quark Drive- boosting highest stat in either harsh sunlight or electric terrain)
-rival that has a somewhat negative relationship with their parent (Gladion to lusamine and Arven to Sada/Turo) yet they still somewhat care.
Those are just some similarities I found
*that went on longer than I thought*
The area zero themes are ethereal and epic
Favorite area and theme in the game! When I got here it wowed me. I was getting like... Megaman X Phantasy Star Nier vibes from all of it lol
Everything about area zero was fucking fantastic
The first time I heard this I was blown away! I was already shocked at the spectacle of Area Zero, it felt like I was somewhere I didn’t belong. Breathtaking yet dangerous. When I encountered the first paradox I saw and THIS kicked in? Man I can’t put into words how phenomenal it was. I used to be on the “new pokemon bad” train but area zero made me realize gamefreak’s still got it
Once I entered here. I had very earthbound vibes coming from this. Love it. 😊
Best wild battle theme in the series
Naw
@@terrance3218 it is to me as well
If the entire game had been as cool as Area Zero (and it had a more consistent framerate), it would've supplanted Gen 5 as my favorite Pokémon game.
GOD the way the bass and guitar snuck in and made all my hair raise up- only pokemon man, only pokemon can do this to me on THIS level.
Even the paradox pokemon became a part of the instrument
When ?
Everything about area zero is amazing it feels like walking into a dystopian location full of dangerously strong Pokémon from the ancient past and the far future it goes to show that the tremendous power of the ancient past and the far future is not a power to be messed with.
this game blew my mind because area zero was actually BEAUTIFUL. like, the music playing in the background fits it so perfectly: a giant mystery hidden away from the rest of the world, housing strange and terrifying pokemon never seen before. yet it's a beautiful paradise, with waterfalls, caves, trees, and giant Terra crystals.
The Music in Area Zero is a Masterpice! The whole Soundtrack is very well done.
Arwa zero îs garbage. Quit trying to praise this mediocre game
I love this song, cause it makes you feel like you're in a place not known to any other man, and when you battle those "things" i makes you feel like they are not pokemon and that you are way to weak to be there
This battle theme is so raw... helps me make the biggest of brain plays when in the battle stadium ❤
I am a bassplayer and i know full well that a computer played the bassline but MAN!!!! The bassline keeps me like 🤩😯🤩👐
