Walk The Woodie is one of the unique experiences offered by the park and in this vlog we learn about the history of this 100 year old wooden roller coaster, along with walking parts of the track. We also enjoy stunning views across the park including unique angles of ICON, The Big One, Steeplechase and many more Pleasure Beach classics!

Never been to Blackpool pleasure beach, but I have been to the Great Yarmouth one
A great video, I enjoy seeing these of the PB Dipper walks. I walked the Cyclone at Southport without a harness or anything else many years ago during an event. Having grown up with the PB group woodies as my staple (including Morecambe) I've a passion for the older woodies and had a plan to offer refurb programmes for the PB woodies in recent years, but without a company of my own to provide... this is slowly now coming together. During the pandemic I landed a job with a UK based company that has built and refurbed many woodies across the world, including building for Vekoma RMC (including both the original build and the RMC makeover of Robin Hood/Untamed) but the pandemic and politics saw that job become non-existent. I studied a Swedish RMC plan at one time and having the original drawings for Thundercoaster at Tusenfryd which was designed by a friend (the same whom redesigned the PMBO in 1995) I worked on plans to retrofit a 90 degree bank to Thundercoaster.
I knew Keith Allen well and got to know Geoffrey Thompson through a mutual railway interest (once had a beer on his lawn chatting railways and coasters while his mother Doris sat under a sun shade) - I've been to places at PB that official tours don't yet go, but that was all a good many years ago and I've no links there now, but funding permitting I should have a company formed within the next year to bring the traditional woodie back to the market, with a modern twist re materials, construction and reliability...

I absolutely love blackpool been going to it 47 years as my mum was from blackpool and a massive coaster fan. She gave me and my brother the bug, every year as kids hoping we were tall enough to ride the next thing. Im still to ride ikon but have done everything else on the park multiple times. What an amazing experience for you on your 30th.
I have only just discovered your channel but i love your vlogs and your chemistry together on screen and your sheer enthusiasm and knowledge are great to see.
Im hoping to get to blackpool at some point this year and get my kids to experience all the thrills i got to enjoy as they are all now big enough.

I haven't been here since before icon was built sadly but it really does go to show how much you can pack in when you're working with a small amount of space! I love steeple chase 😅 never realised how close everything is when on the rides! (Or I've forgotten!)

When you look at the old pathe footage from 1926. People appear to stand up at the top of each hill to get extra whip, so I wonder whether there were NO seat belts or bar at that time especially in other for people to stand up whilst its moving.

What's next for Pleasure Beach now Valhallas done and Big Dipper nearly complete as is the Big One retrack. Grand National is well over due an overhaul and repaint. Me personally I would like to see some of the Unused areas get reused for something like Space Invader 2 building could have a ride inside, Fy4 could also have an upgrade. But what are your thoughts

Agreed, I would be over the moon of twinkly festoon LEDs all along the handrails down the first drop in along all the prominent parts of the road, not just the front would make it the best illuminated Woody on Park and one of the best illuminated rides on Park in general😁
Annoyingly, I was going to suggest that to Amanda for this anniversary last year, but I never got a chance to suggest it to her.

I tried to ride the big dipper at geauga lake after it closed. We disconnected one of the cars on the train and pushed it up the hill 🤣. Good thing I checked the track a tree grew through the track. I woild have died haha

A great present from Charlotte that 👍 Another great watch, we enjoy them all but that Big Dipper walk looked brilliant, and Andy always seems a great guide. We have booked tickets for the Big Dipper 100th birthday party which should be a special night. Also have to say the Valhalla vlogs have been great from you both over recent times, so impressive with fantastic detail through the ride, and nicely balanced and fair with your technical rehearsals review whereas some channels were too negative early on riding it and hadn't given Pleasure Beach chance to get everything in working order. Anyway good luck and sure we'll catch you both at BPB over the months ahead!
