Thank you for watching! Check out our July 2023 vlog from Blackpool Pleasure Beach, featuring all of the latest updates ➡️ th-cam.com/video/9UxYKpBrs98/w-d-xo.html
i love blackpool pleasure beach been going for 47 years. i loved the old fun house and crazy mouse and i think there was a indoor coaster were nickelodeon land is called black hole 😄😄
I walked (or ran) the lift of Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point many times when I worked there about 20 years ago. During the blackout of 2003, I actually went up three times (to about 2/3 of the way) to evacuate guests. I regret not taking pictures or video during those walks in the morning training new people, but back then it would have most likely been a disposable camera or a really early cell phone with terrible quality. If CP would ever offer a Magnum lift walk tour, I'd probably give them my money to do it again and get pictures/video.
You ought to have both “ forward “ roll” yourself round it when you got to the top.. what a rush that would be.👍And great for us TH-camrs to watch via your GoPro! Wahaaaaaaaaayy..🤣🤣
It looks like a great tour, one thing that would enhance it would be to have one of the engineers to give a talk about how the ride system works for the people who are engineer minded and like the techy stuff. Maybe a Big One XXL tour with station maintenance bay.
Phone slipped out me hands watching this, they were that sweaty 🤣 You're both braver than me 👏🏻 I love going on the ride but walking it...... not a chance 😬
Great video! Fun facts:- The design of the supporting structure was done by Alan Schilke of RMC fame, when he worked under Ron Toomer at Arrow (sadly before he was allowed to move into track geometry/ride line design). The original ride line design was designed by Toomer and didn't feature the long ramps but a more exciting design - which had to be vastly simplified for a local fabricating company to produce the track pieces as Arrow were busy fabricating the track of Desperado (Buffalo Bills) at the time. I've ridden all 3 Arrow hyper coasters and Desperado ranks 2nd behind Magnum XL200 for me. I've ridden (PM)BO much more than the others though, living in the UK and I do love it (I enjoy Intamin and B&M but nothing compares to the old fashioned shake, rattle & roll). I'm yet to ride the sections re-tracked by Taziker (far too long since a visit) but as for the original reprofiling in the early years - my friend Robert was the designer when he worked for Allot & Lomax. Having ridden both versions, I prefer his redesign work!
Hi shawn and Charlotte Wow what an experience. Not for me I'm afraid. I don't mind going on coasters but I don't really like heights. The quicker you get down the better 😂. The thing that you were attached to seemed very flimsy. You both just keep giving well done 👏. Thanks for sharing with us. Love to you both as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
What an amazing experience and you certainly did well weather-wise. Certainly a ‘must-do’ along with the other BPB experiences. The Walk the Woodie vlog was brilliant, I’m hoping to do one next year. 👍🎢
it will always annoy me that they go with marketing of 235ft when its not, its 213. its not normal to measure coasters from sea level. otherwise the tallest coaster in the world would be like 1,000 ft 😂
i was in the icon cue last night talking to you about ur videos and enso and it was so good to meet you and i was just in shock how i was stood infront of you for so long and didnt even realise. keep up the videos and hope to meet u again
WOW! What a spectacular video of your experience walking The Big One!!! Thank you for another amazing video!!! Here in the USA they offer a similar opportunity on a couple of the B&M Dive Coasters. I love riding coasters but I do have a fear if heights. I did walk the lift of Batman the Ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain and halfway up the life of the original Texas Giant at Six Flags Over Texas!!! Incredible experiences!!!
Although Infusion isn't the best (please put the new trains on it!). Its fascinating how it just fits and looks the part. I still remember begging my parents to take me to Southport to ride TraumaTizer!
My husband and I got stuck on the top of dueling dragon roller coaster at islands of adventure in Orlando had to get out step on a metal plate and walk all the way down, you can better believe I asked for a front of the line pass for the day ❤❤
I will never in a million years do this because of the height. I don't have the phobia of heights, i have been on stealth, swarm and saw, but i am more okay it am moving on something up but because i can decide if we stop i then get scared haven't rode big one yet unfortunately 😢.
This Ride is the tallest in the UK and it opened the same year as Shockwave at Drayton Manor and Nemesis At Alton towers but I Would have peed myself if I was up there because I was at Oakwood Yesterday afternoon and rode Speed no Limits And THAT WAS SO SCARY!
I will be on the big one on Tuesday I’m Going in with my sister but she’s told me not a chance is she going on that oh well looks like I’m going on myself like I did back in 1994
That was the most anxiety inducing moment watching you both do that, you have definitely both got nerves of steel I don’t know how you do it! Well done though! Loving these videos so happy I found your channels, iv been housebound with my kids being poorly this past week, these have kept me well entertained, Thankyou ❤❤
Managed to get on the big one for the first time in 4 years and it must be said, some of the retracking needs reprofiling because the parts when going into both sets of brakes give such a nasty jolt 😔 i didn't want to re ride it and i usually go on it a fair few times when i'm at the park
Blackpool remind me of how you play Tetris like as if someone just lobbed all the rides together. I dont like the big ones station it looks awful sorry.
50 FEET?!?!?! Why is the UK so inconsistent with the metric system? Sure, England conquered the world with Imperial measurement, but it's 2023 now. BTW, that's the 15.24 meter mark.
That person who measured the gap to squeeze Infusion in between The Big One and The Big Dipper had a massive responsibility. I love how they managed to erect it in such a tight space.
Excellent video Shawn and Charlotte from Walk The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach! Walk The Big One XL is one of the unique experiences offered by the park and in this vlog, we learn about the history of the UK's tallest roller coaster, along with walking to 4 different parts of the layout. This includes climbing up the 235ft tall lift hill as we enjoy stunning views across the park including unique angles of ICON, The Big One, Steeplechase, and many more Pleasure Beach classics! keep the good videos coming on the channel. 👍👍
Oh, blimey! I totally got like immense vertigo just watching you all walk the stairs to the top! The big one is certainly huge! 😨 Thank you so much for this brilliant video, just -wow! 🌺
I've had to pause for a bit. I have a phobia of heights and this is making me ill. You guys deserve a medal. Now I will try and watch to the end. I made it to the end. What a great experience you had. Great vlog !!!!😨
Everytime i look at it i remember the old times from home videos back in 1993 and 1994 b4 it opened it was just the white suports up at the turn around back when fun house was still there. I can treasure those memorys but will cry when day comes hopeful when my kids r alot older have been on it when it comes to end of its time. Have photos when the beach used to come all way up to the the big dipper used to do horse and donky rides along the side of it
Great job guys looked great I cannot believe that once again I have just come home and missed seeing you guys again I would love to shake your hands and say thankyou xx
I’d did the regular lift hill walk and that is just as amazing with the view I had a fantastic sunset as well and was a little more in my price budget if Pleasure beach expanded on the exclusive ride experiences some suggestions are some behind the scenes experiences they could do and Icon BTS experience having an exclusive tour of the operating console, Maintenance Shwd and walk along the launches and explore off limits areas and another one could be a Valhalla BTS experience now that would incredible

Oh yes would love to see Charlotte on every water slide in the country.
Anyone else's anxiety levels through the roof
sweaty palms and stomach doing flip flops just watching you both do this! My worst nightmare but what an incredible experience! Fab!
me too. Im afraid of heights
We loved it!
i love blackpool pleasure beach been going for 47 years. i loved the old fun house and crazy mouse and i think there was a indoor coaster were nickelodeon land is called black hole 😄😄
It was The Space Invader which is now the Pizza Restaurant.
I walked (or ran) the lift of Magnum XL-200 at Cedar Point many times when I worked there about 20 years ago. I could never.

I am interested in doing this. It looks so much fun but also scary at the same time. The views from the top look stunning!
It’s awesome!
That looks fun! I still have not been this season!
Phone slipped out me hands watching this, they were that sweaty 🤣
You're both braver than me 👏🏻

im going to BPB on tuesday!!
Many thanks Shawn and Charlotte for sharing this, looks great, brilliant views and we look forward to doing this soon.
I don't know how you both did this without freaking out. I'm watching this from my couch and I'm freaking out!!
We loved it!
Queasy just watching this, I cannot do heights, love this channel cos its the nearest I'll get to riding a coaster, though I'd love to.
Thanks for watching!
i love those views i remember when this was called the pepsi max big one and it's still called that in rct 1. now is morgan or vekoma re tracking it?
I would never do that, I’m scared of heights, but I bet the view is incredible.
Can't wait to visit Blackpool Pleasurebeach hoepfully next year.
I was there yesterday for the late night riding.
It was very beautiful
I mean this in the nicest possible way... You guys are nuts!!! 🤣🤣🤣
well done you pair.I could not do that do not have the heads for heights
Nice seeing you both yesterday. I was in the queue at ghost train xxxx
Great to see you!

Loving the various colours of the coaster tracks 22:01

I wonder how it will be on hyperia
Wow!! it must of been expensive for u guys to walk the big one im glad u guys enjoyed the MAGICAL experience!
The views are awesome!
Mental at 100ft it still towers above everything else in the park.
It sure does!
Although Infusion isn't the best (please put the new trains on it!). Its fascinating how it just fits and looks the part. I still remember begging my parents to take me to Southport to ride TraumaTizer!
Went to the pleasure beach last Sunday and big one was closed all day 😥😥😥
Yes it was very windy which was the same reason why Fleetwood Tram Sunday was cancelled that same day.
Sorry to hear that!
I saw you on Thursday!😂
Hi Sean hi Charlotte. Quick question, are you guys looking forward to Blackpool Journey-to-hell night 🎉🎉 ? Are you guys going to go ?
I’m sure we will do!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide lol sweet, 27th of October for me and my partner I can't wait. It's for his 30th birthday even tho it was in April 😄😄😄
Thorpe will probably do this when Exodus is open. They already do one for the Swarm
We hope they do!
My husband and I got stuck on the top of dueling dragon roller coaster at islands of adventure in Orlando had to get out step on a metal plate and walk all the way down, you can better believe I asked for a front of the line pass for the day ❤❤
I suspect they'll redesign the ride to make the incline at the start steeper so it can claim it's higher than the one at Thorpe Park.
Its actually an urban myth that the F1 car at the Grand Prix station is the same as the Big One F1 car. They are both totally different cars.
So good!
I will never in a million years do this because of the height. I don't have the phobia of heights, i have been on stealth, swarm and saw, but i am more okay it am moving on something up but because i can decide if we stop i then get scared haven't rode big one yet unfortunately 😢.
Omg I feel ill
This Ride is the tallest in the UK and it opened the same year as Shockwave at Drayton Manor and Nemesis At Alton towers but I Would have peed myself if I was up there because I was at Oakwood Yesterday afternoon and rode Speed no Limits And THAT WAS SO SCARY!
Speed is awesome!
I Know Right
I will be on the big one on Tuesday I’m
Going in with my sister but she’s told me not a chance is she going on that oh well looks like I’m going on myself like I did back in 1994
No thankyou!! 😂😂😂. Just watching your video was enough! Weldone guys
Wow - simply wow ! 😎😵😵💫😵💫
wow that was fascinating!!! i guess we see why the ride is down at times, bcuz they have tours, incredible!!
Thanks for watching! This was after park close!
hi
Get a good view from up there, see Southport, Barrow, Preston and the Bowland hills.
Why do steel coasters get rough with age if the wheels etc are replaced on the cars? What happens to the track to make it rough? Just curious.
I wouldn’t even make it to the 50ft sign 😂
I don't know why but its really weird hearing park representatives talk about other parks 😅
Is icon the fastest roller coster at Pleasure Beach because my dad says it is
Sorry for ambushing you 2 days in a row 😂 hope yous enjoyed your icecream and had a great weekend 😊
I would love to do that :))
Thank you! Get well soon!
Yes will be there for the big dipper birthday celebration on 23rd August
Managed to get on the big one for the first time in 4 years and it must be said, some of the retracking needs reprofiling because the parts when going into both sets of brakes give such a nasty jolt 😔 i didn't want to re ride it and i usually go on it a fair few times when i'm at the park
Certainly got ba11s both of you - would pass out on stage 1 - even up at 20ft
Will you able to walk or go behind the scenes of Steeple Chase or Icon
They should do a white tower restaurant meal after the walk
Esp if its cold
The are we nearly there killed me 😂😂
if i did walk the big one i would be so scaired walking up the steps on the lift hill
Blackpool remind me of how you play Tetris like as if someone just lobbed all the rides together. I dont like the big ones station it looks awful sorry.
We love the design of it and how unique it is!

I tend to find it easier in feet that metres too!
✨✨✨✨✨✨
Ooh I didn't know this was a thing! Definitely want to do this 😁

Was it scary up there
It was epic!
The view going up is way better than the view going down.
Amazing experience TPWgang
It was awesome!
Still not done this yet - looks decent 👌

Great job guys looked great I cannot believe that once again I have just come home and missed seeing you guys again I would love to shake your hands and say thankyou xx
The big one isn’t the biggest coaster hyperia is the biggest coaster in the uk
It was when this was filmed 😉
pov: Your scared of heights
How can you climb that you must be mad
Kudos to you Shawn and Charlotte! It’s making me feel funny even just looking at that view from the top!!!
Man everyone looks soooo bored - did someone spike their drink beforehand - look like they are on Mogadon
We loved it!
I would love to do this but i live in Buckinghamshire so and I've never been to bpb
The views are epic!
Wow that made our stomach go funny. 😁😁😁😄😀😄😄😁😁😁
Hats off to you guys on this one! Sod that 😮😂 especially walking down! x

That would be great to see!
What a knowledgeable and informative guide! He made it really interesting!
I think I’d literally get vertigo and faint haha. My fear of heights could never, but it was really cool watching y’all do it.
This is how shawn works out
The tallest coaster for now 0:42
I wish I could do this
Wait where are you? You did a helix pov 19 hours ago 😂😂
We’re in the UK! The Helix POV was filmed last year!
Like how they are explaining how the weather effects the ride operation 5:44
