I took a zero day at Drakesbad while hiking the PCT. I did a day hike to Devils Kitchen and saw a bear in the forested section on the way to the geothermal area. Such a cool park!
You should make a Lassen supervideo like you did with Route 66! This park doesn't get enough love, not even from me. I drove through the park once, then came back and made the summit of Lassen, but that is it!
I never made it out there while spending time near Lassen as a kid, so I think the wife and I will need to take a road trip to Lassen next Spring for some good old fashion mountain hikes. Lucky for me she likes hiking even more than me. Thanks again for the inspiration Josh!
Was there just over a week ago for 2 days, great park and had a great time though there was lots of smoke when we were there. Stayed at Butte Lake Campground. Will go back when it cools down later in the year.
It is such a beautiful hike. I love the meadow. I’ve only been to boiling springs. I ran out of daylight to make it to devils kitchen or terminal geyser that’s not really a true geyser but it’s pretty cool area. I very much want to go back and see more of this very special CA park.
This was so cool, I've never seen something like this before, at one point it looked like the rocks were steaming by themselves. I'm sure it was totally worth the 5 mile hike to get here. You made me wish I was there with my drone, and capture all of this from above as well
Loving the Lassen content! Almost went there this summer but decided to take advantage of noone being at Yosemite instead! Definitely on my short list. I loved the b roll! Another great video. Thank you!
So beautiful! I always enjoy your adventures. I hear you on the bear - hoping not to see one. We were camped in Voyageurs National Park last week and saw bear poop not too far from our campsite. Luckily we saw no bears 🐻
Hi Josh. I recently found your other channel “Through My Lens” and noticed that you haven’t posted there in a while. Will you return to it when things go back to normal? I’d love to see more out-of-state videos.
Thanks for checking out the other channel! The plan is to return to making content for that one as well but it has been hard with the pandemic. Hopefully sometime in the future!
Did this hike last year and it’s beautiful. There are small hot springs on the way to the boiling springs lake area. I did have problems with Google maps leading me astray on this one so be prepared with maps and tank up before you start. When I was there I met probably 5 folks so very low footfall.
We did this hike last year in June, but unfortunately only made it 3/4 of the way there because we lost the trail because of all the snow still on the ground. There was so much snow on the ground that the whole middle of the park was closed. We couldn't even go to Bumpass Hell.
Thanks Josh, i really liked the Kings Creek falls and Bumpass hell hike. I also visited Mt Shasta that was nyc too luckily the smoke cleared on the days i visited
Hi Josh another awesome video. Would you suggest staying in Redding and driving in every day or is there a better alternative if you're not camping in the park?
With the Dixie Fire in this area parts of LVNP have been burned. The historic My. Hardness lookout has been destroyed as well as parts of the Warner Valley Campground. Happily Drakesbad and it’s related outbuildings we’re saved.
That's Ishi's country. I think everyone who visits Amblu Kai (Mt. Lassen in Yahi), should remember Ishi. Here's a link to the Hollywood version of Ishi's story. th-cam.com/video/IqVArigvh_Q/w-d-xo.html
Constant up talking make my ears itch. Makes me feel like the hitchhikers who get caught on the alien ship and have to listen to this alien declaim poetry to them. From Hitchhikers Guide.
The best TH-camr , thank you!!!!
Wow, thanks!
How in the world could someone put a thumbs down??? why?? Josh your videos are fun to watch!!
Haha I appreciate that, I think they are fun too! 🤣
Wow, I’m adding this to my itinerary for next weekend. Thanks!!
Nice video Josh. I was wondering why I haven't seen Amy on your hikes.
The lake was definitely the coolest part!
I was really impressed by the lake as well!
I really need to get up to Lassen and check all this out. It's probably been at least 20+ years since I was there last.
Thanks for sharing!! We can't wait to check Lassen out when we can!
-A.
Hope you enjoy it!
That's so cool! Love you channel and your voice has a calming affect. 🥰
Really appreciate that, thanks so much for the kind words!

Wow that’s awesome! It’s also awesome that you did the PCT, congrats on that!
Really need to spend more time there. I only did The Cinder Volcano hike and The Bumpass trail. Thanks for the cool video!

As a Chico resident, Lassen is a bless for the people living in the north valley :)

Awesome video. Can’t wait to do this one day.
Love this hike and this park. SO good. I did a video a few years back on Lassen and its one of my favorites. Love seeing your channel grow so much :)
I love you Alice
Thanks so much for the comment, I will have to check out your Lassen video!

Great video, like always. 😁
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing, good information...all these places you’ve visited in Lassen remind of Iceland...
Thanks for the comment! I hope to visit Iceland one of these days!
California Through My Lens You should-you’d love it!

This is amazing!!
Thanks for watching!
Another great video, my man!
My favorite places are with the least amount of people.
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for watching

I want you guys to visit Chicago
Hello sir, I'm coming and enjoyed your beautiful channel and video ♥
My first visit to LVNP was in 1975
We did this hike last year in June, but unfortunately only made it 3/4 of the way there because we lost the trail because of all the snow still on the ground. There was so much snow on the ground that the whole middle of the park was closed. We couldn't even go to Bumpass Hell.
Hi Josh, is the Lassen Park open now in this fires did you get good weather
I believe the park is open but I would check the NPS website directly before going just to make sure
Thanks Josh, i really liked the Kings Creek falls and Bumpass hell hike. I also visited Mt Shasta that was nyc too luckily the smoke cleared on the days i visited
Love that hat, is it available for sale?
Hi Josh another awesome video. Would you suggest staying in Redding and driving in every day or is there a better alternative if you're not camping in the park?
It's crazy how many monuments and places in this country are named after the Devil.
I never thought about that, there really are a lot!

You shall be call mr trails
Cool Sweet stink HAHA. I do believe all the negative press on Cali is to keep us East coast guys on the East side
Hi Josh, how many days were u at Lassen and where did u stay as a base?
How was the weather over there?

No bikes allowed
