    a rusty dirty bolt in the fuel line? kinda defeats the purpose of not contaminating the fuel. no hate just saying. at least you make the videos. still a thumbs up

    Joe, thanks for this video! Guys like you really make life tolerable for penny-pinching guys like me, and I really appreciate your work.
    Just thought I'd mention that the current pump rev is 06J-127-025-L. My car has an 025-J from factory, which has been leaking for a while. The dealer wanted $520 for the part and $233 labor to install; I found a new 025-L online for $230.

    There’s no need for an adapter kit if you just stay OEM with the parts right? Supposedly Hitachi makes the OEM HPFP for Audis made around that time so that’s what I’m ordering and hoping will fit perfectly

    If you're having issues reconnecting the button nut to the HPFP you will want to apply leverage to the pipe that the nut is on. I started trying to push down the pipe leading to the nut to give it more room to fit the pump.
    I had to eventually and carefully climb into the engine bay with just socks on, put some towel/cloth on top of the metal pipe and press down on the pipe with my big toe/foot while trying to screw it on and FINALLY got it to screw on after giving it enough room for the nut to get angled correctly to fit the pump. I have a 2013 Allroad.

    Hey, great video. Easy to follow, see and hear. I was going to replace my HPFP this weekend (2014 A4 Quattro) because I have a P2293 code.
    In your opinion, do you think I should replace the High Pressure Sensor first to see if that resolves the issue? I'm not sure the pump is the issue. I'm not really noticing any difference in the driving, except that it shifts a little hard at low speeds. I also have a P2099 code, which indicates Turbo boost, so I'm not really sure if there's any connection. Thanks

When I insert the fob I can hear the electrical system start up, clicks and different noises, but the engine itself will not turn over. Would you say this is a starter issue or a fuel pump? I agree, however i just replace this PVC about 2 months ago (got it straight from the Audi dealer)... furthermore, i sprayed with starter fluid and did not change the RPM as a leak indicator... However, today i sprayed the air hose form MAF to my Turbo and RPM went up... so i think i may have narrowed the issue, i am having a smoke test done tomorrow to validate my finding.

    Hey Joe, I have a 2014 Audi A4 with 74k. Drives good, however I did notice that throughout the years, its more leggy and not a quick as it use to be. Still drive great though, start and idles good too however I got a code P2293 (Fuel Pressure Regulator 2 Performance) I replaced the Pressure sensor and that was good for only 150 miles. Know the light is back on and wondering if it could be the HPFP. What are your thoughts and by the way great video!

      Just had this on my 2014 a4 I also replaced the sensor (orange one). Ended up being timing chain I had almost a full link of stretch. Found out by VCDS measure of cam cam phase I had -8.04 and -5.00 is max. Compare with timing chain actuator. Hard to find but measure those 2 things and can confirm by measuring cams with upper timing cover off.

    If the o-ring is bad, could fuel get into the oil?

    • @JoeTheAutoGuy
      @JoeTheAutoGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      no but it will leak oil externally and not pressurize the direct injectors properly under load

    • @JoeTheAutoGuy
      @JoeTheAutoGuy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      there is a common issue in that area. when the HPFP is removed there is a "follower" essentially a roller bearing that the camshaft rolls on to to press the HPFP function this bearing can wear out and damage the camshaft causing major repair. it would definitely be something to check. caught early its ok . if this is the case and it is savable replace the cam follower and grease with engine assembly lube before reassembling the HPFP and change oil

    • @JoeTheAutoGuy
      @JoeTheAutoGuy  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      also just to make sure you have no camshaft position DTC codes? if so these engines are pretty common for timing chain and tensioners
