I get that people might theorize about the future of Dragon Ball, but PURPOSELY spreading lies and misinformation at a time like this just for nothing is a new level of low.
That’s a majority of the fan base. Spreading lies for views. Which is why Geekdom is the best.
Most probably are not malicious but it's a race to be the first and gain views so when you have anyone who can post content, many will go on something they heard from someone else without checking.

This isn't new in this fanbase. You'll still hear the same old disproven trite from years ago today and is scarily common. Like I still hear people blame the Japanese fans for Gohan not being the main character when it simply not true lol.

Seeing Torishima’s statement made me tear up, he’s the one that believed in Toriyama and gave him his break into Shonen, his statement really touched me because he watched the journey, he was there from the start and now has to say goodbye to someone he watched go from submitting one shot mangas to earn money just to buy cigarettes and go to cafes to creating the most influential manga of all time. It’s sad because both Torishima and Nozawa were older than Toriyama but both are now having to say goodbye to him
The way Toyotaro spoke of Toriyama his sensei, he's gonna pour his heart and soul into every chapter moving forward. He knows Toriyamas up there with King Kai watching over him from other world.
And that's why, despite Toyotaro's writing being ass in the past, I actually have faith and confidence now.

Toriyama brought so many people together. For me personally, Dragon Ball allowed to make friends with other fans at a point in my childhood when it was difficult for me to make friends. Even though I never met him, I am grateful for his work. R.I.P. to a true legend.

I’m hoping Dragon Ball doesn’t take the same fate as SpongeBob, when Stephen Hillenburg passed away, Nickelodeon decides to make multiple SpongeBob spin off series, and it ends up being terrible. I’m hoping this doesn’t happen to Dragon Ball.

I do love how EVERYBODY has come together to show respect for Toriyama. Everybody from other mangaka to the Smurfs, Archie Comics and even Axe Body Spray made a tribute post to him.
Toriyama’s works have touched the lives of so many people around the globe and his loss is definitely felt.

I feel fairly confident in Toyotaro getting us through Black Frieza & up to End of Z. Especially if some of the planning of it happened while Toriyama was alive. It's Daima that I'm more concerned about since the concept really might need that Toriyama magic to make it work.

Toriyama was basically the king of Manga with how revolutionary his writing was. I miss reading his writing back in the late 80s and early 90s now more then ever.

Toriyama is the reason I even started watching anime. RIP to the man who got the ball rolling out here for everyone.
Please immortalize Toriyama-sensei into some kind of deity character in the franchise, or make a special figure of him, just something to really remember him by. Him making an appearance and so am I in the show would just be the icing on the cake to me to keep his spirit alive.
Toriyama has already done that himself. Toribot has show up in Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump and is technically the strongest character in the verse (though it is mostly for gags)
Toribot exists in the Dr. Slump and Dragon Ball mangas, he's just in Dragon Ball less and you don't really see him in the anime since he's just there for gags.

Its Toyotarou's time. He made that old DB AF comic back in the day, and hes already mirroring Toriyama in ways (he forgot to draw Beast Gohans pupils🥹). I feel the series is in good hands
I can imagine Toriyama left behind an updated will, and as far as Dragonball is concerned, I'm sure he wants it to be continued to where Toyotaro may have to continue writing the story of the super Manga with a bunch of writing editors to help out.
Toyotaro has a lot to step up to. Only time will tell how the series will go from here.

Been following you for many years and like all of us, DB and Akira Toriyama held a very special place in my heart. Just want to thank you for what you do. Its been really refreshing to have a youtube page to go to for credible news and information on the series past, present and future. I know its not the end of Dragonball but it definitely has that feeling to it. I'm really tore up about the whole thing. The question I have is whether or not DB Daima will be abruptly concluded and rushed since this series was clearly Toriyama's vision and pet project and other people involved in Dragonball may not be as passionate about it holding up the continuation of Super. I hope the Dragon Room and Toyatorou will finish Daima in a way that Toriyama would have directed it rather than cave to what the "critics" want.
I would rather it be aired as is regardless of completion, I wanna see his final vision in it's purest state untainted by others
That said we all know that'd never happen, to corporate of a world for that to ever happen when a profit could be made.
I think the issue here is defining the continuation of Dragon Ball as "the continuation of Super" since while Super is a continuation, that doesn't mean that Dragon Ball can only continue when Super continues. Daima can be a continuation of Dragon Ball all, in fact it is regardless since it's still part of the Dragon Ball story.

If it's not fully completed yet the storyline and ending of the movie was definitely already set in stone by Toriyama.

The entire world reacting to it is very beautiful the way it has and is I am veey thankful and cry a tear of joy from seeing the way the world has reacted to Toriyama's passing... Im sure it was just that Toriyama would make Goku look like his modern work, slimmer and younger looking, which let's face it, many people didn't like Toriyama's modern style. Toyotaro knew how to accurately draw style DBZ Goku when you look at his DB AF stuff, so he certainly never had trouble drawing Goku before Super.
I think toyotaro will put the manga on another break before continuing with the next arc. I don't know if there's any possibility of the anime returning now though

It's like Stan lee all over again. Toriyama has been one of my biggest inspirations as an artist and just as an enjoyer of entertainment. His unique style, comedy, action, he's just legendary. I think the franchise is in good hands unlike what happened after Stan lee passed with marvel. I still can't believe both of them are gone now. I think they should put his pen in a museum

Will he finally win against a main villian or would Toyotaro be faithful to Toriyama's wishes to continue the tradition of Vegeta's L streak.
I mean, he did make a dragon ball 100 years after or something like that, where he went to explain what happened with the gang after the end of z, maybe some of that gets adapted? Like goten and trunks finding a sword school, gohan making a book on ki, ms.buu and all that stuff.
the only major concern i have is that his legacy might get usurped by people that don't like the guy like what happened with marvel after stan lee died. hopefully toyotaro has the final say in matters, i think he'll keep true to toriyama's vision but if it were purely in the hands of toei then i would definitely be worried.
I think that the production committee involved (Shueshia,Toei, Bandai, Capsule Corp and Toriyama's Estate) are gonna have to make new plans on where to take the Dragon Ball franchise going forward

I feel sad about the lost of the biggest creator of my favorite manga and anime, and I wouldn’t like his creation start changing or evolving with things happening now days, because it’ll be as sad as his lost, and my heart will be crushed if this happens. Goku was always the main character, and Toriyama was always true to that, and not only because of that, but the history of dragon ball itself.

I remember when Toyotaro was heavily involved with DBS, I remember thinking that we have a future successor to Toriyama who will further the dragon ball franchise for many years to come. But I personally didn’t think it would this soon. 😢
I think the fact that he stayed humble, he never flaunted or bragged, many say he didn't even know how huge he was........but he knew. He was in all honesty super rich, yet unlike others he wasn't jetting around, cruising on million dollar yachts! He stayed simple and true to his heart and passion! We lost his body, but his soul has been with us since he first started! He lives on and will continue to live on in us adults that play the games to the kids trying to go super saiyan in their living rooms, I think he will be there smiling that wonderful open gentle smile! Rest In Peace, your rest is well deserved. ❤

It's a hard cruel lesson for whoever is involved, if you take too long postponing something important, like writing about the end of Z forward, you might just never be able to do it. We might never know now how the creator really thought things with Ubb, Goten, Trunks and Pan would go
Toriyama has done what no one else’s has done recently in a divided world he has been able to unite us once again even if it’s for a little while. Now that’s is Toriyamas gift to us.
Honestly I’m sad that he won’t be around to see where things go, but I know he’s watching from Otherworld. I’m just glad that he got to see Super Hero before his passing because we know how much he loved Piccolo and Gohan, and I’m sure he can see just how much the world loves and misses him now that he’s gone. Just an incredible worldwide response for the legend himself.
Toyotarou will have to take over. Toriyama might of had drafts and concepts for several projects before his passing.

I know Toyotarou has been trying his best but now with Toriyama gone, the training wheels are off and I fear Toyotarou is going to heavily overwork himself from now on. Hope he starts doing better sooner than later but we all know that out of anyone outside of his family, this death hit him the hardest.

I am so sad, man. Dragon Ball was a huge part of my childhood. I will be honest, Dragon Ball is not the first anime that I watched. I watched anime like Bakugan and Pokémon back when they were popular. Mainly Pokémon. I also watched things like LBX: Little Battler's Experience, and other animes. However, it was when I actually saw Dragon Ball Z Kai on Nicktoons first when my love for Dragon Ball started. And I have seen some famous TH-camrs talking about Dragon Ball and Toriyama's passing and one guy said that Dragon Ball became the top 3 anime with One Piece and others, but he said that without Dragon Ball there would be no top 3 anime, because Dragon Ball really drew people in and got people invested into anime, and I cannot disagree with that. That is how it was for me. Thank you for contributing to my childhood, Akira Toriyama.

Toriyama contributed so much to my childhood. I am 33 now, i had stopped watching for years for lack of time throughout most of ny sdult years. Always looking back with fondly toward all the memories I had from my childhood watching Dragon Ball. I started watching again in my late 20s. Now I have two sons, 6 and 4. We watch Dragon Ball together. We read the Manga together. My love for Dragon Ball has returned, and being able to bond with my sons over what was such a huge pain of my own childhood has given so much more meaning to Dragon Ball for me. Very thankful for this man.

I hope they don’t ruin it or milk it… if akira was heavily involved in daima even if I don’t like the concept of the daima turning into kids I will now watch it as a tribute to the legend :/ I’m also watching og dragon ball all the way to super and gt including all movies :/ ….
Toriyamas legacy is such an immense one that we will always hold in our hearts, minds and souls.
Hopefully the series continues well into the future and that Toriyama left a good amount of notes behind for everyone else to follow where possible. :)
When I heard about Toriyama's passing last week, I let out a gasp of shock, and covered my mouth with my hands. I normally don't do that, but Akira Toriyama's pssing I did not expect at all. I may of course know him for Dragon Ball, but I also enjoyed Chrono Trigger, and his character designs for that game. Every artist has a style that makes their work well known, and Akira Toriyama's style will never be forgotten. I'm glad to hear that Dragon Ball will still continue for the forseeable future.
Akira gave outlines to toyotaro and toei. That’s why the anime and manga were so different. Akira even backed this up when doing an interview alongside toyotaro. Toyotaro got skeleton outlines and added in, expanded up, etc. Honestly I foresee Iyoku taking over completely. He even advised toyotaro from time to time. So it’ll likely be Iyoku as the head, Toyotaro as the second in command.
capsulecorp and toyotaro will do what is necessary. toyo should do the manga by him self. hes earned it at this point of time. the schoolar should become the master.

It's so painfully sad and so sudden that the shock still has me in a state of shock that i still haven't processed or begin to grasp. At the same time it was beautiful to see the amount of people and press coverage its receiving gives me gentle warm feeling like everyone is seeing the beauty in this show that Ive seen for years an that makes me feel great. RIP Akira Toriyama definitely changed my life when I came across this Anime

Used to come home from work just in time to watch the Toonami run of Sailor moon DBZ, and Gundam wing. Other than Akira that was the first time I was able to really start diving into anime. Later came Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Neon Genesis, and more from sailing the high seas. If not for Toriyama, I probably wouldn't have ever done the dive into anime as a whole.
The man was a legend and will be missed. King Yama better take good care of our boy here.

For anyone reading this, if you respect Toriyama and his legacy then do not spread misinformation even unintentionally. How you avoid that is you understand the difference between your feelings or assumptions and what’s confirmed fact. It’s not that hard.
They definitely should have an episode or something they should put a major tribute in for toriyama
IMO it comes down to what Toyotaro wants to do as well, Akira made him his successor for continuing the series, they probably made contingency plans in case of his untimely departure. But even still there is still doubts & concerns of where the future of Dragonball will go. Imo it’s better off being laid to rest, if it doesn’t stay true to Toriyamas idea but we know that’s not gonna happen

Hopefully they had a session with him where they were like just rapid fire going down like 20 arcs (basically 100 years of content lol) where they were like okay and after Moro what then and then after that and then salada and then angel side drama thing with zenos parents. But the only way that we'll ever see the end after z is if he told Toyotaru what the entire plan was. My guess is that there's a timeline Akira was following. Japanese folks seem to be very secretive but very organized. Maybe just like how the manga continued after super. The manga was behind the show, So that means the studios are following different scripts not just The manga Art
