@@chloeandludvig I pass by this hotel pretty often.... If you go out at night... you'd see the classic SF night market and by night market I mean the entire street is festooned with drug dealers, drug addicts, homeless, dodgy characters, and people selling stolen shit. It's..... an interesting place to be
I'm native to SF too and this is on Market, not deep in the TL. I'm looking forward to staying here after a long day in downtown San Francisco. All I want is a safe and clean place at night.
What a great place to stay, perfect for a solo traveller, enough space and amenities, I'd stay there if I was in San Fran. Looking forward to your train adventure! 🥂
It was honestly the perfect size - and it made my hotel stay super enjoyable! I love Yotel! Looking forward to staying in more of them around the world!
Thank you for this review! I'll be staying at this location this summer, so this is super helpful to know. Excited to stay in a smaller hotel room like this haha
i've stayed at the yotel in manhattan and loved it. if i ever stay at this one i'd pick the queen room at a minimum tho. that solo room looks like its meant for tiny people lol.
Yeah, the Tenderloin is... a place in the city. There's nothing tender about that loin but during the day it's alright I guess. It's good that the Yotel is very safe though.
You must have gotten a great deal at that hotel, compared to a standard San Francisco hotel. Did you see a bunch of crazy stuff, staying in the Tenderloin area? I am surprised at how nice the hotel is!
I think I spent just over $1000 nzd for three nights - significantly less than any other hotel I could find in the city - although this may have a lot to do with the area? I was shocked at how expensive most of the hotels are! I definitely saw a lot of dodgy stuff while walking around Tenderloin (a lot of homelessness, drug dealing and gangs by the looks of it), so made sure to stay alert and not spend too much time out on the street. I wouldn't recommend anyone go near there (unless in a safe hotel like I was of course).
For sure that is a crazy area. I stayed at The Palace hotel in the summer of 2018, and got a great room for $255.00 a night. (We stayed one night). It was because I haven an American Express and was staying at a Sheraton hotel. So...if you have an American Express and stay at a Sheraton, you'll get a good deal! @@chloeandludvig
To say the SF Tenderloin is 'not a nice area' is putting it about as mildly as is humanly possible. lol That neighborhood is the worst in SF, and SF itself is pretty awful. LOL I'm surprised that vid of the outside of the building looks as nice as it does! (I live about 35 miles from SF and haven't been there in years. No desire to visit a place where a 'poop' map is needed to know where to avoid such human stuff. lol) BUT I sure wish YOTEL would put a property in Orange County! Whenever I drive down to visit Disneyland, I need a basic place like this. Or even a capsule hotel! I spend all the day in the parks; just need a clean, efficient, safe place to sleep! This chain looks awesome.
I was definitely putting it mildly haha... I didn't really realise how bad it was until reading up about it some more upon leaving.... really great hotel though :)
Thank you for such an amazing walkthrough of our tiny rooms!
You are so welcome! I loved this unique stay and can’t wait to visit more of your hotels!!😍
awesome
Thank you! :D
As a native San Franciscan you could not pay me enough to stay in the Tenderloin, dodgy is an understatement.
I totally see why. I wouldn’t be returning to that area… luckily my hotel was fabulous

When we first moved to SF, the cab driver brought us to a hotel in the tenderloin. We did not know. Thank goodness we survived!

If you're on the edge of the Tenderloin, up against Market, you're fine. Just don't go deeper in and don't wander at night.
I love your content!
Hahah cute Nick! Thanks for watchin ;)

It's great right? The room look tiny, but is actually surprisingly spacious! Those queen rooms do look great however ;)
I'm at a stage in life where having two flights of stairs in between my bed and the toilet is just not tenable 🙈 But the space is really cute!
Hahaha - I must admit it was interesting in the middle of the night 😅 but yea very cute and fun haha

The mirror by the couch is creepy. I don't like the tv at the foot of the bed. I'd be afraid that I'd kick it in my sleep and break it.

The worst in SF? Hunter's Point?
