I feel that Dexter will get caught, but only after successfully teaching Harrison the code. Mr Caldwell will be their first kill & real bonding moment. I’m also worried that Hannah didn’t actually die of cancer… Harrison killed her. Harrison went after the school shooter & Dexter thought that he deserved it too… but he never taught Harrison the code. Agh.
I hope there is a season 2 with Dexter alive. I am not sure if they mentioned Hannah’s death to explain why Harrison came looking for Dexter and not that Harrison killed Hannah. There had to be some reason why Hannah was gone and Harrison was alone. Although Harrison said Hannah had a letter from Dexter telling her to contact him if Harrison showed any dark passenger tendencies. Harrison did say there were a lot of Jim Lindsays when he was searching for Dexter. If there was a letter, it shouldn’t have been too hard to find Dexter. The ratings are super high because so many people watched Dexter and they want him back. Many shows film an alternative ending. Hopefully that is the case with Dexter. There is a petition on the internet to Showtime asking to keep Dexter (Michael C. Hall) for a second season. I already signed it.

I like how while Dexter was being physically hunted by the trucker he was being hunted in a different way by Angela. It's a really clever juxtaposition.
Harrison punishing himself and thinking of painful memories reminded me of Trinity's ritual where he used to go outside the bar and get someone to beat him up like his father did. There's clear parallels here between Harrison and Arthur Mitchell (Trinity).
i like to think of Trinity as Harrison’s TRUE father in blood. Harrison’s preferred weapon is a blade, as you said there’s v v clear parallels between Harrison and trinity. Even years after Arthur’s death, dexter is still suffering from his revenge. Even in the similarity that binds Harrison and Dexter together (dark passengers) Trinity’s presence is marked and unerasable.
Yes. Thus I hope that there is more to Lithgow involvement with the new season then just flashbacks. I think that its possible that Trinity may be revealed as Harrison's inner voice.
i suppose an easy explanation is that for some of his early victims that were in the bay, he did use ketamine, and switched to m99 later. (I don't remember how well the original show explains all that). I also thought he used m99 as it didn't show in a tox screen (the exact problem he's having now lol). Anyways I do hope they give it a bit more context because the whole plot literally hinges on that now.
Is there any proof dexter only uses m99 if not he might've used ketamine too . I remember vaguely dex sometimes using ketamine just to terrorize or making someone sleep
this was to me one of the best Dexter episode of all time, it had everything from intense wolf hunt to wholesome father/son moment actually made me teared up
That needle mark on Miles neck would be healed by now. Anyone ever have a IV site not heal in less then a few days? Also Dexter uses M99 on Dexter 1-8 is a powerful opioid. Ketamine is for Anesthesia. There’s no way Angela can google reference the BHB with it.

@@MZHARDBODYENT The google result actually said the BHB used Ketamine. That is completely false and no lab tech would ever confuse the vastly different chemical compounds with each other. That combined with a needle puncture which failed to heal days later, when they actually heal in about a day, continues to demonstrate that the show runners are using plot contrivances to feed information to Angela. This hole is so massive that I find the 8th episode is the worst in the new series.
I think it's probably the best episode yet... the first time it actually had me shouting at the screen!!! Awesome moment when Kurt came out in his kill outfit!!! And I almost got teary-eyed when Harrison threw his arms around Dex!!!

@Ayye_C Me too. After 8 years It was like Dexter started without missing a beat. I liked it just as much as before. I was surprised that I teared up when Harrison and Dexter hugged. I know Dexter cares about Harrison. I hope Harrison has feelings for Dexter and not using him.
No season 2 boys...this is it...one and done...as it should be...Give us the finale we’ve longed for & be gone... Clyde Phillips came back to put his baby to rest once & for all...otherwise the show may suffer the same fate.
@Ayye_C If he read the letter and it didn’t have a return address and Hannah wouldn’t tell him where Dexter was, I think he could have. He started to say he had defended himself in the past to Audrey, then paused and said it was a homeless man at a truck stop. If Hannah was dying from cancer, there would have been time for her to get word to Dexter. The details are sorta sketchy. I am hoping that after Angela finds out about Dexter but Dexter has solved the mystery of Iris and kills Kurt, ridding them of a serial killer, that she lets Dexter walk away. That could be a spin-off start with Harrison staying.
I am pretty sure Dexter also felt drawn to Angela because she reminded him of Debra. Her looks, demeanor and... yeah the fact that she works in law enforcement.
Honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about this episode. It was 30-35 minutes of Dexter trying not to get killed. Sure it’s intense and all, but I feel like we should’ve seen the full confession to Harrison in this episode. Now it feels like we’re about to get a rushed episode of Harrison learning the code in a day followed by Dexter getting arrested in the next one. I could be wrong of course, that’s the beauty of Dexter. There’s a million ways this could end.
Agreed. I'm going to go even further and say that all episodes that involved Harrison in High school/with high schoolers was time wasted on him for no reason since it didn't develop his character or motives at all (self destructiveness doesn't need to be elaborated on two-three episodes, we had scenes of Deb after Lundy died where she's a wreck and we understand why in a very short time), and didn't move the plot forward in a reasonable way. So many episodes could have been written with a different focus than Harrison and do a better job at escalating the divide of Dexter/Jim and Kurt through Harrison. It feels a little disappointing to have watched six episodes (not counting the first one which was good) and finally getting somewhere now.
So it’s that easy for Angela to find out about Dexter, but no one from Miami Metro could for all those years? They made it way too easy for her. ShE couldn’t even find her best friends killer for 25 years but she finds out about Dexter in 2 weeks? It’s a joke SMH

I bet Kurt was 'handling' Molly when he talked to Elrick. At the end of episode 7 we saw him eyeing Molly, so who else should be the victim he is preserving.

I think you are on the right track.. but it may be the other way around. I think Harrison is going to kill an innocent person. Probably Audrey. Dexter then kills Harrison to prevent him from killing any more innocent people.
@@laismaria737 Dexter's MO is to kill people who murder innocent people. Dexter will have a brief moment of triumph when he feels he is passing on his craft to Harrison when they kill Kurt together. But Dexter will realize Harrison will continue to kill innocent people (after he kills or attempts to kill Audrey) and will kill Harrison to prevent him from becoming an unchecked version of himself. Harrison will fit the code. Just a theory obviously but poetic in the sense Harrison will meet the same fate everyone else who knew about Dexter ultimately faced.
The quality of this season has surpassed my expectations, I don't know what the ratings have been, but it's worthy of a second season if Hall would return..but I think they plan to wrap the show since with 2 episodes remaining, no antagonist has been introduced to replace Kurt. It's a shame because I think the writers made this an excellent season, I've looked forward to every episode. Angela will find herself in peril from Kurt, Dexter will save her life and like Lumen, she will keep Dexter's secret so Dex can save Harrison from his own dark passenger. Fade to black
Honestly, I see it ending with Dexter being caught and Harrison killing Kurt and maybe Angela and being all alone. If they really want to make this an ending, it has to wrap everything up for Dex
I thought the same, they said this ending would break the internet / surprising and honestly Dexter dying at the end of this would not surprise me or anyone I think so I don’t think he will die. I think Angela will get caught by Kurt and Dexter/Harrison will kill Kurt and Angela will keep their secret because of what he did to Iris. However I kind of compared it to when Deb let Dexter and Lumen go behind the curtain when she caught them (even though she didn’t know it was them, she knew who they were killing and what that person did) They did a lot this season with comparing Angela to Deb and I think that could be a nice parallel

This being "good" in the end for me now hinges on how they write Angela with this info. Will she be so overwhelmed with Dexter helping find out about Iris and working to take down Kirk that she "forgives" the rest of what she is piecing together? Or do they biff it and have her get locked in Kurt's cabin and Harrison blows it up again? I am now way more on board with the idea of Dexter and Harrison taking down Kurt together now. I feel like we'll have a "slow" episode that people won't really like next week, similar to Trinity at Thanksgiving, but Kurt at Christmas dinner. I know if Dexter is gone I won't have any desire to watch season 2, so I would be super surprised if that was the outcome and I would also find that Uber super duper dumb on the writer's part so in good counting that out now.butnpacing the next episode more slowly (dialogue/character interaction) gives me a hope for a banger of a finale. Which I prefer to a great penultimate episode followed by a quiet finale.
No question. If you have just a tiny bit of comprehension in human psychology you know that Angela is a humble person. It is 100 percent safe that she will end Dexter as we know him. And he didn't help her find out, she found the carcas of her friend on her own.
In one of the first episodes, at the "quick cut" scenes, you can see two men closing the doors of the incinerator together. I think it's Dex and Harrison.
I like what you've commented, but sorry one thing won't hold water if they go down the route of Angela figuring out Dexter. Dexter didn't use Ketamine before, so that Google search that pulled him up......is Bogus. What's up with her not pursuing the killer of all those women, but now fixated on her boyfriend? Obviously Dexter didn't kill those women...... Dexter has plausible deniability or blame available regarding the drug dealers...... they were the root of why Harrison almost O.D'd and died. As a father, he'd want revenge....... Angela's story is getting annoying. When Dexter came clean, she made it about her. He had every right to try to start a new life. I will say, I don't want Dexter caught or dead. He's too amazing and he deserves bonding and love with his son. Because of Dexter's code, he gets a pass in my book. Period......

I think Molly was killed off the screen by Kurt at the end of 7th episode. She had no screen time in 8th episode. Her death might be revealed in next episodes I guess.
I think she is dead too, as soon as I saw Kurt in his lab gear after seeing him eyeing her last episode, she is 100% dead. Which is why I think Angela will think Dexter killed her but then find out it was Kurt and forgive Dexter
I think it's possible that Dexter won't die until later seasons. As of right now I feel like this could be building up to Harrison, Angela, and Dexter being a trio. Yes Angela is onto Dexter but I don't think she fully understands his code yet. She is also aware that Kurt is slipping through the cracks. I could see her teaming up with them to make up for all that. New Blood could be referring to both Harrison and Angela.
Nah I reckon she will go against Dexter and Dexter won't have a choice but to kill her keep himself from getting caught rule number one NEVER GET CAUGHT!

My thoughts on an ending:, Dexter starts teaching Harrison the code, Angela gets closer in her investigation and finds out that Dexter's the serial killer but keeps it to herself mostly because nobody would believe her at this point. However, just like when Debbie killed LaGuerta, in the storage container to protect Dexter. I think Angela will walk in on Dexter and Harrison having a father and son moment chopping up or killing Caldwell and his buddy,. The cops place all the serial killings on Caldwell as well as killing Angela. Harrison and Dexter move away or stay to set a sesion 2 .
I have anticipated, loved and appreciated all of your breakdowns and recaps. I am Dexter’s biggest fan (think Kathy Bates 🤣) from the original series. I watched every episode from the original series countless times. Unfortunately I don’t have access to the Dexter: New Blood series because of moving to BFE-Texas outback. Kurt's lab where he embalms the bodies and displays them must be under the field. That's where he disappeared to I'm guessing. Can Harrison help Dexter frame Kurt for everything? Or will they escape together? Or will Harrison kill Dexter when he finds out what he's been doing with his dark passenger?
The only reason i can think for Harrison to kill dexter at this point it's if he learn than trinity killed rita to hurt dexter and because dexter didn't kill him early..
Harrison is smart but he is emotional person, he is a kid not yet a man, once dexter tells him all of his past i believe we will see a new dexter in the making, it pains me to accept this since i want dexter to be main protagonist but i think dexter will really die in the finale of this season. and harrison will be the new dexter and his ghost will be his dad advising him...

@@00139arwin a) They end it on cliffhanger, uncertain if Dexter died, but certainly can't go back to his life and has to disappear again OR b) He doesn't die and there's a montage going on for 2nd season. IMHO it's a perfect opportunity to show the "young" version of Dexter (AKA Harrison) as a spinoff series, though I'm not sure the actor is up to it... at least not as good as Hall. But they could montage it another 5-10 years into future and pick a better actor for Harrison (someone that could rival Hall's charisma would be be a tough pick that would make or break the show though... whoever would replace him would have to have that excellent monologue voice that Hall has.)
Dexter being hunted in the woods and backtracking in his steps reminded me of the infamous The Shining maze scene where Danny Torrance backtracks in his steps to outsmart and ultimately outrun Jack Torrance.
Haha, but that guy saw it and said "oldest fkn trick in the book!". I guess that guy also watched The Shining. I for some reason watch a show called "Big Sky" and on that show the bad guy would have followed the tracks straight into the river and drowned. It's such a badly written show..but like a car crash I can't not glance at for some reason.

Someone on reddit had a great theory that Kurt is selling the bodies to Olsen. I don't believe his backstory in last week's episode revealed his true motive. Also, why is he embalming all the bodies? I'm sure it'll be a finale reveal.
Also, how does Kurt have so much money?.... I think he is selling the bodies organs to the billionaire/organ trafficking and then embalms/stuffs the bodies like someone would mount a deer head. I think he has his "trophy" bodies in a shipping container somewhere.... buried maybe?
On the last episode I actually worked with the young Kurt on The movie good thief. When he popped up on the episode I was so happy for him. I have a gut feeling that Harrison’s first kill will be Kurt
I think Angela is going to confront dexter with everything she’s found regarding the needle marks, bay harbor butcher connection, etc. And before she does this, she’ll probably find even more information that’s damning so that Dexter can’t have any excuses to make. I also think instead of turning Dexter in, Angela might ask him to kill Kurt as revenge for Iris and the other missing girls.

It would make sense for Dexter's life to end -- either literally or metaphorically -- with this limited series. They have to wrap-up here to avoid the mistakes of the past. I'm okay with that. I know, I know...we'd all like to see more episodes, but it's better to leave fans asking than wondering why the show dragged on too long. Also, a spin-off about Harrison would risk ruining what so many have come to appreciate. A thought: Aliens and Terminator 2 were enough. Don't 'ruin a good thing' by asking for more from this character.
One thing that needs to be pointed out. Dexter didn't use ketamine to immobilize his victims in the BHB days, he used M99. So, that shouldn't have come up in Angela's search like that.
YES! The ketamine thing really got me upset. It made everything feel so forced like they didn't put any thought into the story line because they were so focused on the Kurt Dexter Harrison timeline. I loved everything but that. Also was Kurt cleaning a body (Molly's?) in the beginning on the phone call with the henchman? Or was he just prepping for Harrison to be on his table.

@@jenm1 yeah when Brian scuba dove out the immigrant smuggling couple that dexter killed in season one the wife's body was pretty intact and he saw a puncture wound so he had the body tested and found horse tranquilizer, one so potent that doctors that administered it were on a list, except Dexter's allias, so when Vince saw the list Dexter already got rid of the trace to him. It started the whole kid saw him so he framed the husband which shut down debs ice truck copycat theory.

I’ve had a lot of theories throughout this new miniseries, but this is the first episode where I got the feeling that this might all be leading up to a second season. The only reason I say that is because there seems like too much to wrap up in the last two episodes. If I had to bet on one prediction, it would be that Dexter dies. He will probably get exposed as well, but being caught and incarcerated and dragged through court is not going to be how this story ends.
Trying to figure out what the ending might be as I have to think that at the very least, they have to leave it open with a scenario that is conducive to another season. One possible outcome is that Angela does fully discover and accept that Dexter is the Bay Harbor butcher but looks the other way after he kills the man that murdered her friend. Possibly after discovering that Kurt killed all these other women as well, she realizes all that could’ve been prevented had someone with Dexter’s pedigree been around to stop it in his own demented way. This show is such a moral dilemma as on the one hand, it’s pretty messed up what he’s done but on the other hand, how many innocent lives has he actually saved by taking out bad people? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see and regardless, I hope they do this show justice with a solid ending no matter which way they take it.
It was great how you highlighted that Kurt had connected with Harrison but still felt the compulsion to get to the kill. This was the same realisation I got when first watching Season 3; Dexter put the kill before his loved one. After that, it was clear throughout the rest of the first run. He'd ALWAYS put his compulsion before love, justice, whatever. So, when you remarked about Kurt, it made me realise that Dexter chose to instead take his loved one away from the situation. In previous seasons, he'd have likely told Harrison to stay in the vehicle as he went on the hunt for his prey. I'm hoping that love, justice, whatever actually shape the ending to this show xxx
It just hit me. I think I know who Wiggles the Clown is and WHY Dexter hunted him as well as why he is choosing to tell this story to Harrison. Wiggles the clown is Dexter's first victim of the first series S1E1 "Cold Snap". The first guy we see him kill. That guy had killed 3 young boys that Dexter had dug up and put them on display before killing the guy. I believe that he is Wiggles the Clown because this would give him access to children. Dexter could also justify to Harrison why he was suspicious of Kurt to begin with.
Etorphine Hydrochloride is M99. It's very similar to ketamine, both are animal tranqualizer. We found out about M99 in S1, so he may have changed his drug source after that debacle, and started using Ketamine. I am actually wondering how they even knew he used needles.
I’m glad someone understands! He took the Ketamine from the animal doctor who was assisting an animal giving birth. Born in blood. Angela will visit the Vet and make the connection. But she will not turn Dexter in. She already said, “I need Dexter Morgan.” She’s been trying to catch a serial killer forever Dexter catches them. Once the serial killer of Iron lake gets put on the table, she will knowingly let Dexter walk away. She wasn’t that mad he hid his identity & a child from her. That story Dexter told her was flimsy as heck. There was no reason Dexter had to fake his death to leave it all behind. No reason to abandon Harrison.
a lot of people probably noticed in the original Dexter that he dated pretty blonde women just like his late mother a young pretty blonde. now in new blood he’s dating a dark haired cop just like debra the dark haired detective he lost. also side note we saw Angela sitting down with all the case files and information on the floor in front of her, just like debra, there’s a lotta similarities with them
I believe kurt will finally get molly and since angela already believes dexter is the bay harbor butcher she will believe dexter is some how connected to it because she is aware of her segment on dexter on her podcast
He probably used Ketamine before he had access to M99, since he started killing at 20 and probably started dumping bodies in the bay before he was a blood spatter analyst

Dexter dying is the best ending. He had it coming. Should have happened in 8 when in the last moments he sees the people he has killed looking at him from above.
I think the best ending would be Angela accepting Dexter for who he is and keeping his secret so he can help his son the same way Dexters dad helped him. So maybe there was a reason they showed Kurt getting away with what he did to Iris by blaming it on his dad. Maybe Angela knows Kurt will use slick attorneys to get out of this again and has the opportunity to arrest him but instead kills him and kinda understands a little bit about what Dexter has done, or maybe Dexter or Angela kills Kurt to save her daughter and either way because of the pain from loosing Iris and her promise to be the understanding cop, the cop who listens, maybe she lets him go raise his son.
Ngl. I got a little teary eyed when harrison hugged dexter in the truck. It mustve been a relief for harrison to know his dad has the same darkness as him.
I think what’s going to happen is Dexter will teach Harrison the code, and in the last episode Angela will catch Dexter, but Harrison will get in the way and kill Angela since Dexter will teach Harrison that rule number 1 is “don’t get caught.”
Can u imagine how Angela would react if she walked in the trophy room and saw Molly and/or Audrey in a trophy case? She would forget all about the needle punctures.

really enjoyed the episode overall, but also really bothered by the fact they retconned m99 into ketamine just for the sake of plot. loved dad dexter saving harrison! and the moments they shared after.
It makes sense. He was able to get M99 because of the access he had to labs in Miami metro. How would he get M99 now and why would he bother if ketamine is effective as well?

Ofc living as he is in NY now he wouldn't have access to M99. But when Angela was reading that article or whatever at the end of the episode, it said the BHB used to use ketamine on his victims. Which, as you pointed out, isn't true lol - he used M99.
One of the original writers or directors said that he had wished the show ended with Dexter either being arrested or killed. This new add on series is too good to end after just one season, so I don't think hom being caught will happen yet. I do think something will happen with that billionaire guy. There was just a feeling about him. Maybe he let's Kurt use a room for the embalming and/or taxidermy purposes.

I feel that Dexter will get caught, but only after successfully teaching Harrison the code. Mr Caldwell will be their first kill & real bonding moment. I’m also worried that Hannah didn’t actually die of cancer… Harrison killed her. Harrison went after the school shooter & Dexter thought that he deserved it too… but he never taught Harrison the code. Agh.

I hope there is a season 2 with Dexter alive. I am not sure if they mentioned Hannah’s death to explain why Harrison came looking for Dexter and not that Harrison killed Hannah. There had to be some reason why Hannah was gone and Harrison was alone. Although Harrison said Hannah had a letter from Dexter telling her to contact him if Harrison showed any dark passenger tendencies. Harrison did say there were a lot of Jim Lindsays when he was searching for Dexter. If there was a letter, it shouldn’t have been too hard to find Dexter. The ratings are super high because so many people watched Dexter and they want him back. Many shows film an alternative ending. Hopefully that is the case with Dexter. There is a petition on the internet to Showtime asking to keep Dexter (Michael C. Hall) for a second season. I already signed it.

Harrison punishing himself and thinking of painful memories reminded me of Trinity's ritual where he used to go outside the bar and get someone to beat him up like his father did. There's clear parallels here between Harrison and Arthur Mitchell (Trinity).
i like to think of Trinity as Harrison’s TRUE father in blood. Harrison’s preferred weapon is a blade, as you said there’s v v clear parallels between Harrison and trinity. Even years after Arthur’s death, dexter is still suffering from his revenge. Even in the similarity that binds Harrison and Dexter together (dark passengers) Trinity’s presence is marked and unerasable.
Yes. Thus I hope that there is more to Lithgow involvement with the new season then just flashbacks. I think that its possible that Trinity may be revealed as Harrison's inner voice.

i suppose an easy explanation is that for some of his early victims that were in the bay, he did use ketamine, and switched to m99 later. (I don't remember how well the original show explains all that). I also thought he used m99 as it didn't show in a tox screen (the exact problem he's having now lol). Anyways I do hope they give it a bit more context because the whole plot literally hinges on that now.

That combined with a needle puncture which failed to heal days later, when they actually heal in about a day, continues to demonstrate that the show runners are using plot contrivances to feed information to Angela. This hole is so massive that I find the 8th episode is the worst in the new series.
I think it's probably the best episode yet... the first time it actually had me shouting at the screen!!! Awesome moment when Kurt came out in his kill outfit!!! And I almost got teary-eyed when Harrison threw his arms around Dex!!!

@Ayye_C If he read the letter and it didn’t have a return address and Hannah wouldn’t tell him where Dexter was, I think he could have. He started to say he had defended himself in the past to Audrey, then paused and said it was a homeless man at a truck stop. If Hannah was dying from cancer, there would have been time for her to get word to Dexter. The details are sorta sketchy. I am hoping that after Angela finds out about Dexter but Dexter has solved the mystery of Iris and kills Kurt, ridding them of a serial killer, that she lets Dexter walk away. That could be a spin-off start with Harrison staying.
I am pretty sure Dexter also felt drawn to Angela because she reminded him of Debra. Her looks, demeanor and... yeah the fact that she works in law enforcement.

Honestly, I’m not sure how I feel about this episode. It was 30-35 minutes of Dexter trying not to get killed. Sure it’s intense and all, but I feel like we should’ve seen the full confession to Harrison in this episode. Now it feels like we’re about to get a rushed episode of Harrison learning the code in a day followed by Dexter getting arrested in the next one. I could be wrong of course, that’s the beauty of Dexter. There’s a million ways this could end.
Agreed. I'm going to go even further and say that all episodes that involved Harrison in High school/with high schoolers was time wasted on him for no reason since it didn't develop his character or motives at all (self destructiveness doesn't need to be elaborated on two-three episodes, we had scenes of Deb after Lundy died where she's a wreck and we understand why in a very short time), and didn't move the plot forward in a reasonable way. So many episodes could have been written with a different focus than Harrison and do a better job at escalating the divide of Dexter/Jim and Kurt through Harrison.
It feels a little disappointing to have watched six episodes (not counting the first one which was good) and finally getting somewhere now.

@@laismaria737 Dexter's MO is to kill people who murder innocent people. Dexter will have a brief moment of triumph when he feels he is passing on his craft to Harrison when they kill Kurt together. But Dexter will realize Harrison will continue to kill innocent people (after he kills or attempts to kill Audrey) and will kill Harrison to prevent him from becoming an unchecked version of himself. Harrison will fit the code. Just a theory obviously but poetic in the sense Harrison will meet the same fate everyone else who knew about Dexter ultimately faced.
The quality of this season has surpassed my expectations, I don't know what the ratings have been, but it's worthy of a second season if Hall would return..but I think they plan to wrap the show
since with 2 episodes remaining, no antagonist has been introduced to replace Kurt. It's a shame because I think the writers made this an excellent season, I've looked forward to every episode. Angela will find herself in peril from Kurt, Dexter will save her life and like Lumen, she will keep Dexter's secret so Dex can save Harrison from his own dark passenger. Fade to black

I thought the same, they said this ending would break the internet / surprising and honestly Dexter dying at the end of this would not surprise me or anyone I think so I don’t think he will die. I think Angela will get caught by Kurt and Dexter/Harrison will kill Kurt and Angela will keep their secret because of what he did to Iris.
However I kind of compared it to when Deb let Dexter and Lumen go behind the curtain when she caught them (even though she didn’t know it was them, she knew who they were killing and what that person did)
They did a lot this season with comparing Angela to Deb and I think that could be a nice parallel

Just finished Ep 8. Thanks for such a quick vid upload review of this episode. Much appreciated. Just like the 8 seasons we all watched a decade ago, I am now remembering how utterly BUMMED OUTI felt when each season was winding down, like this one, wow only 2 more to go. Whaaaaaa!
This being "good" in the end for me now hinges on how they write Angela with this info. Will she be so overwhelmed with Dexter helping find out about Iris and working to take down Kirk that she "forgives" the rest of what she is piecing together? Or do they biff it and have her get locked in Kurt's cabin and Harrison blows it up again? I am now way more on board with the idea of Dexter and Harrison taking down Kurt together now. I feel like we'll have a "slow" episode that people won't really like next week, similar to Trinity at Thanksgiving, but Kurt at Christmas dinner. I know if Dexter is gone I won't have any desire to watch season 2, so I would be super surprised if that was the outcome and I would also find that Uber super duper dumb on the writer's part so in good counting that out now.butnpacing the next episode more slowly (dialogue/character interaction) gives me a hope for a banger of a finale. Which I prefer to a great penultimate episode followed by a quiet finale.
No question. If you have just a tiny bit of comprehension in human psychology you know that Angela is a humble person. It is 100 percent safe that she will end Dexter as we know him. And he didn't help her find out, she found the carcas of her friend on her own.
In one of the first episodes, at the "quick cut" scenes, you can see two men closing the doors of the incinerator together. I think it's Dex and Harrison.

I like what you've commented, but sorry one thing won't hold water if they go down the route of Angela figuring out Dexter. Dexter didn't use Ketamine before, so that Google search that pulled him up......is Bogus. What's up with her not pursuing the killer of all those women, but now fixated on her boyfriend? Obviously Dexter didn't kill those women...... Dexter has plausible deniability or blame available regarding the drug dealers...... they were the root of why Harrison almost O.D'd and died. As a father, he'd want revenge....... Angela's story is getting annoying. When Dexter came clean, she made it about her. He had every right to try to start a new life. I will say, I don't want Dexter caught or dead. He's too amazing and he deserves bonding and love with his son. Because of Dexter's code, he gets a pass in my book. Period......

I think it's possible that Dexter won't die until later seasons. As of right now I feel like this could be building up to Harrison, Angela, and Dexter being a trio. Yes Angela is onto Dexter but I don't think she fully understands his code yet. She is also aware that Kurt is slipping through the cracks. I could see her teaming up with them to make up for all that. New Blood could be referring to both Harrison and Angela.

My thoughts on an ending:, Dexter starts teaching Harrison the code, Angela gets closer in her investigation and finds out that Dexter's the serial killer but keeps it to herself mostly because nobody would believe her at this point. However, just like when Debbie killed LaGuerta, in the storage container to protect Dexter. I think Angela will walk in on Dexter and Harrison having a father and son moment chopping up or killing Caldwell and his buddy,. The cops place all the serial killings on Caldwell as well as killing Angela. Harrison and Dexter move away or stay to set a sesion 2 .

Harrison is smart but he is emotional person, he is a kid not yet a man, once dexter tells him all of his past i believe we will see a new dexter in the making, it pains me to accept this since i want dexter to be main protagonist but i think dexter will really die in the finale of this season. and harrison will be the new dexter and his ghost will be his dad advising him...

IMHO it's a perfect opportunity to show the "young" version of Dexter (AKA Harrison) as a spinoff series, though I'm not sure the actor is up to it... at least not as good as Hall. But they could montage it another 5-10 years into future and pick a better actor for Harrison (someone that could rival Hall's charisma would be be a tough pick that would make or break the show though... whoever would replace him would have to have that excellent monologue voice that Hall has.)
Dexter being hunted in the woods and backtracking in his steps reminded me of the infamous The Shining maze scene where Danny Torrance backtracks in his steps to outsmart and ultimately outrun Jack Torrance.
Haha, but that guy saw it and said "oldest fkn trick in the book!". I guess that guy also watched The Shining. I for some reason watch a show called "Big Sky" and on that show the bad guy would have followed the tracks straight into the river and drowned. It's such a badly written show..but like a car crash I can't not glance at for some reason.

Someone on reddit had a great theory that Kurt is selling the bodies to Olsen. I don't believe his backstory in last week's episode revealed his true motive. Also, why is he embalming all the bodies? I'm sure it'll be a finale reveal.
Also, how does Kurt have so much money?.... I think he is selling the bodies organs to the billionaire/organ trafficking and then embalms/stuffs the bodies like someone would mount a deer head. I think he has his "trophy" bodies in a shipping container somewhere.... buried maybe?
On the last episode I actually worked with the young Kurt on The movie good thief. When he popped up on the episode I was so happy for him. I have a gut feeling that Harrison’s first kill will be Kurt
I think Angela is going to confront dexter with everything she’s found regarding the needle marks, bay harbor butcher connection, etc. And before she does this, she’ll probably find even more information that’s damning so that Dexter can’t have any excuses to make. @@denisesudell2538 I don't think she will either but I can see her realizing what's going to happen and waiting till after Kurt "disappears" to arrest Dexter, it's either that or Kurt manages to kill Dexter and gets arrested for it, possibly getting out of jail on bond or something and Harrison kills Kurt and disappears

It would make sense for Dexter's life to end -- either literally or metaphorically -- with this limited series. They have to wrap-up here to avoid the mistakes of the past. I'm okay with that. I know, I know...we'd all like to see more episodes, but it's better to leave fans asking than wondering why the show dragged on too long. Also, a spin-off about Harrison would risk ruining what so many have come to appreciate. A thought: Aliens and Terminator 2 were enough. Don't 'ruin a good thing' by asking for more from this character.
One thing that needs to be pointed out. Dexter didn't use ketamine to immobilize his victims in the BHB days, he used M99. So, that shouldn't have come up in Angela's search like that.
If they don't do anything with that Oil Tycoon who was a complete creep and absolutely everywhere for 3 episodes I'll be annoyed.
YES! The ketamine thing really got me upset. It made everything feel so forced like they didn't put any thought into the story line because they were so focused on the Kurt Dexter Harrison timeline. I loved everything but that. Also was Kurt cleaning a body (Molly's?) in the beginning on the phone call with the henchman? Or was he just prepping for Harrison to be on his table.
Oh no! Molly. Possibly didn't even think about that. Plus, Angela found one body on her missing list. Yet, she's investigating her boyfriend. Silly. But next season Dexter will be sheriff lol 😆 fingers crossed

@@jenm1 yeah when Brian scuba dove out the immigrant smuggling couple that dexter killed in season one the wife's body was pretty intact and he saw a puncture wound so he had the body tested and found horse tranquilizer, one so potent that doctors that administered it were on a list, except Dexter's allias, so when Vince saw the list Dexter already got rid of the trace to him. It started the whole kid saw him so he framed the husband which shut down debs ice truck copycat theory.

I’ve had a lot of theories throughout this new miniseries, but this is the first episode where I got the feeling that this might all be leading up to a second season. The only reason I say that is because there seems like too much to wrap up in the last two episodes.
If I had to bet on one prediction, it would be that Dexter dies. He will probably get exposed as well, but being caught and incarcerated and dragged through court is not going to be how this story ends.
How about him being found out and exposed as a prime suspect for the BHB, but he then runs away? I hope so :). Don't want one of the other options...

Trying to figure out what the ending might be as I have to think that at the very least, they have to leave it open with a scenario that is conducive to another season. One possible outcome is that Angela does fully discover and accept that Dexter is the Bay Harbor butcher but looks the other way after he kills the man that murdered her friend. Possibly after discovering that Kurt killed all these other women as well, she realizes all that could’ve been prevented had someone with Dexter’s pedigree been around to stop it in his own demented way. This show is such a moral dilemma as on the one hand, it’s pretty messed up what he’s done but on the other hand, how many innocent lives has he actually saved by taking out bad people? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see and regardless, I hope they do this show justice with a solid ending no matter which way they take it.

It was great how you highlighted that Kurt had connected with Harrison but still felt the compulsion to get to the kill. This was the same realisation I got when first watching Season 3; Dexter put the kill before his loved one. After that, it was clear throughout the rest of the first run. He'd ALWAYS put his compulsion before love, justice, whatever.
So, when you remarked about Kurt, it made me realise that Dexter chose to instead take his loved one away from the situation. In previous seasons, he'd have likely told Harrison to stay in the vehicle as he went on the hunt for his prey. I'm hoping that love, justice, whatever actually shape the ending to this show xxx
What a great episode! This season has surpassed my expectations by a long shot.
It just hit me. I think I know who Wiggles the Clown is and WHY Dexter hunted him as well as why he is choosing to tell this story to Harrison. Wiggles the clown is Dexter's first victim of the first series S1E1 "Cold Snap". The first guy we see him kill. That guy had killed 3 young boys that Dexter had dug up and put them on display before killing the guy. I believe that he is Wiggles the Clown because this would give him access to children. Dexter could also justify to Harrison why he was suspicious of Kurt to begin with.
Etorphine Hydrochloride is M99. It's very similar to ketamine, both are animal tranqualizer. We found out about M99 in S1, so he may have changed his drug source after that debacle, and started using Ketamine. I am actually wondering how they even knew he used needles.
I’m glad someone understands! He took the Ketamine from the animal doctor who was assisting an animal giving birth. Born in blood. Angela will visit the Vet and make the connection. But she will not turn Dexter in. She already said, “I need Dexter Morgan.” She’s been trying to catch a serial killer forever Dexter catches them. Once the serial killer of Iron lake gets put on the table, she will knowingly let Dexter walk away. She wasn’t that mad he hid his identity & a child from her. That story Dexter told her was flimsy as heck. There was no reason Dexter had to fake his death to leave it all behind. No reason to abandon Harrison.
Did they even find out what the Bay Harbor Butcher used on their victims, whether it was ketamine or m99? I don't remember them figuring that out.
a lot of people probably noticed in the original Dexter that he dated pretty blonde women just like his late mother a young pretty blonde. now in new blood he’s dating a dark haired cop just like debra the dark haired detective he lost. also side note we saw Angela sitting down with all the case files and information on the floor in front of her, just like debra, there’s a lotta similarities with them
I believe kurt will finally get molly and since angela already believes dexter is the bay harbor butcher she will believe dexter is some how connected to it because she is aware of her segment on dexter on her podcast

He probably used Ketamine before he had access to M99, since he started killing at 20 and probably started dumping bodies in the bay before he was a blood spatter analyst
I was so anxious I don’t like to see Dexter hunted! Glad to see he came out on top. Idk though the police chief is closing in!! Also, it doesn’t make sense for him to have Harrison as victim same as his ritual. But..my opinion

Kurt’s got some sort of hang up on how he shot that girl who ran from his truck, so he recreates the scene over and over.

Dexter dying is the best ending. He had it coming. Should have happened in 8 when in the last moments he sees the people he has killed looking at him from above.

I think the best ending would be Angela accepting Dexter for who he is and keeping his secret so he can help his son the same way Dexters dad helped him. So maybe there was a reason they showed Kurt getting away with what he did to Iris by blaming it on his dad. Maybe Angela knows Kurt will use slick attorneys to get out of this again and has the opportunity to arrest him but instead kills him and kinda understands a little bit about what Dexter has done, or maybe Dexter or Angela kills Kurt to save her daughter and either way because of the pain from loosing Iris and her promise to be the understanding cop, the cop who listens, maybe she lets him go raise his son.
Ngl. I got a little teary eyed when harrison hugged dexter in the truck. It mustve been a relief for harrison to know his dad has the same darkness as him.
I wonder if Harrison taking ball hits was a way of getting bruises to set Dexter up later on.

I think what’s going to happen is Dexter will teach Harrison the code, and in the last episode Angela will catch Dexter, but Harrison will get in the way and kill Angela since Dexter will teach Harrison that rule number 1 is “don’t get caught.”

Ofc living as he is in NY now he wouldn't have access to M99. But when Angela was reading that article or whatever at the end of the episode, it said the BHB used to use ketamine on his victims. Which, as you pointed out, isn't true lol - he used M99.
One of the original writers or directors said that he had wished the show ended with Dexter either being arrested or killed. This new add on series is too good to end after just one season, so I don't think hom being caught will happen yet. I do think something will happen with that billionaire guy. There was just a feeling about him. Maybe he let's Kurt use a room for the embalming and/or taxidermy purposes.
