- This is the FINAL video in my 3-day, 2-night Kayak Camping & Fishing Trip on the beautiful Rapidan and Rappahannock Rivers in Fredericksburg, VA.
In this video, I cover the route of this float trip, the gear I used, and the final few catches I caught on camera before my GoPros died. It's a shame they did, because I caught a LOT of big fish on this final day.

Fun and peaceful. So peaceful. I love going to sleep in nature. I’ll take that ambience over any civilized ambience anywhere.
That hammock packs small too. Light and so little room needed. I’ll be using one from now on.

That's a bad@$$ kayak, it's all about the grind.
Was grinding through this shallow riffles for sure, but no issues from the kayak at all. Helluva kayak and so comfortable and versatile/maneuverable.

I may try unringing and then ringing the bell again, but TH-cam is known for this issue unfortunately. They tend change our subscription settings whether we want them to or not. It’s beyond frustrating.
That's awesome. I plan on doing this with my buddies this year. I live in Stafford, not too far away. Your run was from Elys to Motts correct? Can it be done Saturday morning into Sunday afternoon?
Highly recommend it. Gorgeous area.
Any one of the drift legs (Elys to confluence and confluence to Motts) usually take me about 6-8 hours, but that’s because I fish it pretty hard.
If you’re just drifting and not fishing and flows are decent, you could make the whole run from Elys to Motts in about 6-8 hours.
We usually do Elys to confluence, then camp. Fish around the confluence the next day, camp the night. Then pack out on Sunday morning and make the Motts takeout by early afternoon (fishing our way down).

Haha, yup, was there for a bit. Staying close to home because of my truck.
I was omw to go fishing Friday afternoon after work. Then I was number 8 in a 10 car pileup on I-95 north with my son.
My son and I both okay. Almost stopped in time, but the car at the front of the shitshow came to a full and sudden stop in the fast lane, so what happened was damn near inevitable.
Home now. Claim filed. Truck minor damage. Estimate Monday.
