    I just got back from a cruise and while the Game King video blackjack had absolutely horrible rules (even money BJ, no splits, no doubles, hit soft 17) I did better at it in both money (all luck which seems to prevail in short sessions but I ended up up a few hundred at the end) but most importantly comp points. I made more points off a few sessions betting $5-$15-$25 positive progressions on that Game King that counted points like a slot machine than I did playing quarters at the standard tables for hours along with hours of craps and roulette. It was insane to see the difference. Video blackjack is horribly boring and terrible rules, but I will do it again because it got me a free cruise.

    Atlantic City is using 8 deck shoes now for most tables. The higher limit tables often have 6 decks.

    I'm listening on a quality smartphone and the volume seems to be about 50% less of what it should be. I'm outside with typical background noise and can barely here the audio.

      Not in order, but here you go.
      1. Side bets
      2. 15 for 1 instead of 15 to 1
      3. Big 6/8
      4. Double odds tables (or anything less than 3/4/5)
      5. Paying the commission up front on buy bets.
      6. Placing the 5/9
      7. Making a don’t bet and saying “no action” when the point is a 6/8.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barkman1739 that is actually pretty spot on. The only one missing I would say is any 7. That has one of the highest house edges of any non side bet in a casino

    • @barkman1739
      @barkman1739 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheJackpotGents same as big 6/8 (I think) so you could add it there. I know how craps players like their side bets, so perhaps the video wouldn’t be too well-received. Maybe specify the “worse” ATS payouts if the better payouts can still be found.

    Continuous shuffling machines speeds up the game, but it also completely negates card counting. Because basic strategy is a losing game, you have to decide how you want to enjoy your losing--fast or slow.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interestingly enough, a continuous shuffler does lower the house edge slightly from a shoe game since most only use about 3 decks but I believe the money you would save in an hour from the lower house edge is almost completely negated by the extra hands per hour

    I’ve never been at a table where you can re-split Aces. Are there places in Vegas where you can?

    I'm watching this while at work, in a casino. My casino has some of these rules, but not all. 6 to 5 is pretty bad. Serious players usually stay away from that.

      we did just do an interview recently with the head of the national council on problem gambling and that was mentioned a few times but that is actually not a bad idea for a video that could be interesting

    Ultimately it’s up to the public to not play mathematically inferior blackjack games. If people don’t play these inferior games, then the casinos will be forced to offer better blackjack games again. A blackjack table with a dealer standing doing nothing makes no money for the casino.

    • @TheJackpotGents
      @TheJackpotGents  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We would agree.

      @@TheJackpotGents when the count strategies came out in the 1960s, Las Vegas changed the the rules of blackjack. You could only double on 11 and pair split as forbidden except for Aces. Nobody played, and in 3 weeks, they had to go back to the original rules. The casinos are greedy. It’s important to not play mathematically inferior games. I gave cello lessons to a friend of Ed Thorp. He went toLas Vegas and won $5000 at blackjack with a bet of no more than $5 on any single hand.
