QUESTION,,, On a modern electronic slot, where you can choose unit value,.01, .05,.10 etc... do the higher values payout more the the lower values, for instance, do quarters payout more than pennies?
If one always got $90 back for every $100 put in, why would anyone play that machine, that you're guaranteed to lose on? One should hope the machine will pay out well over 100% at least for while you're playing it - that's the attraction!
Every machine is a losing machine, some machines pay back 89% some pay 96% but all machines pay out less than 100% of the total money put in. The question was essentially "How does that happen, does the payback happen in one session automatically?" And the answer is no. You're actually more likely to lose everything, unless you have a big enough bank roll to stay alive long enough to get a good win.
@@benjaminm8728 this isn't necessarily true a slot machine can technically pay out over 100% it's just unlikely. the older and longer the machine is around the more likely it will profit and hit that 90 ish % mark
It still amazes me how many people still believe most or all of these. Ticket swapping, players card in/out, spin frequency, on and on. Let's not forget physically beating on the machine. I've even noticed a certain lady at my local who says the DIRECTION you push the button matters, be it from an angle, straight up and down, it's hilarious yet sad. Psychology is fascinating.
I'm not surprised, people are very superstitious. They get angry at dealers as if they an effect on the cards, they blame automatic shuffling machines (in poker!) for picking and choosing winners, they believe in the Gambler's Fallacy, and pretty much any superstition you can think of
I do not think based on what I heard another technician say that Scott gave a complete answer - There is a randomness but there is also a balancing e.g., once a slot machine has received a certain amount of money it also balances to pay out a certain amount of money.
It just changed the volatility. More spins with a lower bonus feature will not give you bigger wins but you are more likely to have SOME wins. Less spins with more of the bonus feature increases your chance of not doing well but also increases your chances of bigger wins
I put in a hundred in a slot machine when i win at least 75 dollars on that hundred i come off ...dont go for huge amount ...most time i leave the casino with at least 400 dollar profit
My husband sat at a machine and won after his 3rd spin. The guy that had been playing prior to him started to argue with him that it was his win , because he had played it all day long. Casino disagreed and my husband got his win
Does a players card have anything to do with the outcome of the spin ?? I have a buddy that puts his card in the machine, plays off a few bucks with no wins, then pulls his card out, and hits !!
I don't believe this guy. I was at the casino mostly everyday last year, and Monday through Thursday you hear jackpots announced here and there...Friday through Sunday, especially at night they are announcing Jackpots constantly. Saying they don't turn the machines up or down is clearly bullshit. Yes I paid enough attention to the ratio of people vs. Jackpots to draw this conclusion. If you lie about one thing I don't know what I can believe about the rest of what you say.
The casino slot staff have tablets on them showing slots as they hit and they must be hooked to the server for that. So I would have to think there server control would not be out of the possibility
Actually most people don't understand payback pct. The way they explain it, is not even correct. Why? Because they count all of your wins as payback. So it is not what you wind up with. For example, if you put in $100 and played for 15 mins and had 80 left, you might think that your payback pct was 80%. but lets say over that time, you had $200 in wins but $220 in losses, you would be minus $20....and you would have $80 left out of your original $100. The casino calculates your payback pct as 200/220 or 91% payback
If I have 100 balls and 90 are red and 10 are black and I mix them up and pull one, I have a 90% chance of it being red. Guess what, its random and ill always have the came chance of getting a red one
The payback percentage is a theoretical number that is based on probability. For example, a 98% payback percentage is a long term number that is based on probability and it doesn't mean that a machine must pay back that exact percentage within a certain time period. Some days a casino will lose money on a machine, but most days it will make money and in the long-run the machine will pay back very close to what it is programmed to return. As a simple example, think of a bowl with 10 balls. Nine are red and one is white. If someone randomly picks a ball, in the long-run about 90% of the time a red ball will be picked and about 10% of the time a white ball will be picked. Slot machines work the same way, but they just have many more combinations programmed into them to achieve whatever payback percentage is desired by the manufacturer. I heard that too. He also said a few other things that made me go mmmmm. He came across like a used car salesman. I did know about the predetermined picks though. They annoy me. I don’t like picking. If I’ve won $10 randomly give it to me. If I got lucky and won the $1,000 just give it randomly. Going to the jackpot bonus is actually quite boring with these picks. There is no excitement in that part of the game. I love these guys videos though and I will continue to watch.
I believe that most Casinos today which have the New large screen Slot Machines are server based and can be remotely manipulated. Even if it is illegal to do there are ways to hide an audit trail. Call it a glitch. No profitable casino would not not pay extra for this feature.
He answered the first question TOTALLY wrong. Slot machines are NOT random...in fact, they are not random at all. If they were, all the casinos would be closed.
You are wrong. All of the machines act on a random basis. And, even though the results are random, the game can still be programmed to pay back a certain percentage, based solely on probability.
Casinos are entertainers for people with money just there to take not to give. So please stop bullying people. Half of what this guy was saying is BS random answer as a random number.
I play max bet on the machines where the max bet is like 12 dollars. Because it's that high people will bet half that. Very rare people bet max on those machines. So I do this every week, and no doubt in me when I do this on the loose machine it will trigger a massive payout after you go down like maybe hundred dollars. This has happened to me so many times no way it's luck. But don't do it every day or right after someone has been playing on the machine. It has to be idle for a while, the loose machine and no one bet max for a few days. This will trigger a huge payout. 😁✌️

You know we are interviewing a slot manufacturer next week this is a great question. I will be sure to ask him

Of course not, you don't have the answer...

I MISS THE GOOD OLD COIN MACHINE 💯THE PAYOUTS WERE WAY BETTER ✅‼️

It's hard to sit idly by doing nothing while you're going broke.

He lost all credibility when he said "irregardless."
Does the bonus pick of number of spins matter
It just changed the volatility. More spins with a lower bonus feature will not give you bigger wins but you are more likely to have SOME wins. Less spins with more of the bonus feature increases your chance of not doing well but also increases your chances of bigger wins
this is exactly what a slot manufacturing would say to throw us off.

Not too long ago I heard Las Vegas tried to get a license from the gambling commission to control the percentage of the machine
They used to be called, one arm bandits, then they lost the other arm.
Very interesting information. I am so superstitious about someone winning big on a machine I have spent a lot on, I get far away from it.
yup it happens to much to be random.
I seen this a long time ago and it says video just came out
My husband sat at a machine and won after his 3rd spin. The guy that had been playing prior to him started to argue with him that it was his win , because he had played it all day long. Casino disagreed and my husband got his win
yup story of my life as soon as you leave someone else hits.
~ People are ridiculous, aren’t they!?! 🤯
Yeah no, call security. funny how people will act like it’s impossible to lose in gambling. It’s gambling.

It's not that the casinos don't do that, it's that they physically cannot
To change the payback on a slot machine that is not server based you have to literally pull the chip out and physically replace it
probably just more people playing on the weekend.
i wish it would be asked if the players card in matters. A buddy of mine swears it does but i don't know.
Gaming regulations do not allow different results if a players card is in the machine.

Informative
Gambling is in the casino's favor. Take! Take! Take! Take! Take! Too one sided in the casino's favor. My experience. 😕

How can the machines be totally random when they supposed to win long term?

Best thing I learned , tribal casinos are central server based (bingo) so they can change outcomes much easier.
