    very informative, as a native german I was not aware about all these options. I think goethe might be the best, because it stays for ever. Anyway I might send it a japanese friend that was considering studying in german. He is very smart and I was very suprised about his intrest in languages, even tho he is a engineering student

      As a TestDAF taker I chose the TestDAF because on the DAAD website it said(at least when I decided on the respective exam like half a year ago) that from the Goethe exam the C2 level is required. Now I don’t know why that is, but that was the deciding factor for me.

    I took the Goethe Institute exams at the Akademie Klausenhof in Rhede, Germany years ago. My thinking at the time was, if you are going to invest in learning or bettering your foreign language skills...it is best to do so at a recognized institution of higher education, approved by the Education Ministry of the country whose language you are learning. This is also true even if you earned a degree at another university in foreign languages studies program. There is no great debate of educational proficiencies.

    Ich würde noch Telc empfehlen. Telc hat auch 3 verschiedene Kategories aus C1: Allgemein, Beruf, Hochschule. In der Nähe von mir alle die Sprachschulen lehren Telc. Die mündliche Prüfung ist ein bisschen anders, weil man mit jemandem anderen zusammen im Dialog fertigmachen muss. Aber wenn du hast ein Kumpel, kannst du auswählen, dass du mit ihm zusammen möchtest. Natürlich das muss man schon während der Prüfunganmeldung melden.

    People, who have already passed TestDAF, could you tell more about your experience ?

    • @a.fitere7718
      @a.fitere7718 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I took TestDaF in 2021 towards the end of a C1 language course which prepared us for Göthe C1. In the language course, we just worked through the EM Neu C1 language book by Hueber. Parallelly, I worked through the Test-DaF training book by Klaus Lodewick. It felt a bit overwhelming at first, but once I got used to the format and types of questions, it was fine. The good thing is that especially for the written and speaking parts, you can create a list of phrases and sentence structures to use and then just adjust it to the topic in the actual exam. I probably watched all TH-cam videos available at that time about the test, but the most helpful were definitely ones by Dr Deutsch - I took his advice to heart (especially about the oral part) and ended up doing well enough on the test (4-5-5-5). So I‘d say if you have the underlying language skills for B2/C1 and you work with a book like TestDaF-Training and videos by Dr Deutsch, you should be fine. I stopped studying once I felt like passing the practice tests in the book and ones I found online was not a big challenge. I took the actual exam in a different language school in a different city. Overall, it wasn‘t harder than the practice exams I did at home. What I would say is that the listening comprehension was much more niche than I expected - it was something about different strategies of plants to protect themselves against their harsh environments. The writing part was easier than expected - I think the topic was whether pupils in school should be evaluated by grades. Don‘t remember the reading part, but the speaking part was pretty standard. The more difficult „conversations“ were not harder than the ones from the practice tests. One thing I‘ll say is that I completely messed up the times, I think I even went 10 seconds over the bell and was so nervous and thought I‘d get a reduction for that but it ended up being no big deal. I hope I could help you and I wish you a lot of success with your learning!
      Edit: What I didn‘t know before taking it was how the speaking part was going to look like logistically. But you basically sit at a computer with a huge headset on and they record your answers. It‘s just one big voice recording so they also capture the pauses inbetween sections where you listen to the questions. That‘s why also if you go over the given time, the recording won‘t cut you off. The annoying thing was that all test-takers did the task simultaneously, so despite the giant headphones, we still heard each other talking.

    As someone who has B1, B2 Goethe certificates and Testdaf 4x4- i would say that TestDaF is the hardest German exam that i have ever faced.
    Fortunately for students in Germany- you could do DSH exam which is cheaper and way easier. Testdaf will ruin you😢

      You can find this kind of information on DAAD in ur country or univ's website
      But usually for non EU or u dont hv higher education sertifikat that equal to Abitur
      For one year or 2 y study in ur country you can skip studienkollege

      Some universities don't accept the lower Goethe exams because Goethe is not specifically designed for university studies. It's more of a general language exam
