Disgrace to the game? Your not really a fan of poker, only clips of poker on youtube. Hellmuth is a legend in the poker scene, he won 16 bracelets you idiot. He won 13 world championships and holds both world records of cash finishes and final tables in wsop. But of course you guys wouldnt know this, you only know about poker by watching youtube. Youre not a fan of the actually poker scene. Youre casuals of poker that know nothing about the game. Hellmuth has made 30million in poker, hes definitely one of the best poker players ever.

Phil was going to fold, he was in a folding mentality. Thats why he pushed the card in the way he did. But then tried to take it back once he snapped out of the folding mentality once he knew he was good. He is such a dbag. He should not have been in that game in the first place. Just imagine a lineup of Daniel and Doug with these fellas. They would 100% engage in the tabletalk, the looser play, the over the top straddles and not buyin for the minimum. That would have made this game better than it was. Now people got to see pokers biggest ego do his thing playing like an idiot unable to adapt.

The restrooms are MUCH bigger within the Bally's/Paris ballrooms than what Rio had to offer. The ballrooms themselves are massive and Paris in particular is very upscale in comparison to Rio. The two convention center entrances are also adjacent to each other-- so that's convenient. Walking through feels like the WSOP belongs there and that Rio will be to the franchise like Binion's was for the first move. Food options are short but for us minions there is a food court at the lower level immediately below Bally's tournament area. The real issue is the parking. There are plenty of space, yes, but accessing them is the problem. Try exiting Paris parking garage on a Friday/Saturday night... or crossing the Strip and navigating down Flamingo to/from the game. Also, if you have a larger vehicle-- have fun getting up the narrow ramp into the self-parking area.

The thing that I found most egregious of the Slime/Phil hand of "what an angle shooter would do" is not what anybody's talking about. It's that Slime knocks the table after Phil "mucks" and Phil doesn't clarify RIGHT THEN that he hasn't folded or ask Slime why he's doing that.

  • @brendonlum6457
    @brendonlum6457 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

If slime turned over an A with better kicker PH folds, swears and berates him. Classic Hellmuth and complete scumbag move. The rabbit turn 6 is even worse, Slime loses a pot he would have won had PH called. The 5k, and the money in the middle forfeit.
The fact there is even a discussion about this hand shows how terrible PH is at relating to people. His behavior over the whole session is embarrassing and I hope more players start standing up to him in the coming years ala Eric Perssons.

30:53 Disagree, TChan and DNegs. Two examples: Hellmuth tried to confuse players (Dwan, Patrik, Ivey) into selling him "reverse insurance" on a Poker After Dark episode against Ivey.
Another HSP cash game hand against Eli Elezra, Phil had the best hand going into the river, and wanted to insure against Eli's 3 outs (to lose the pot for Phil entirely; any of the other 41 cards comes, he loses the insurance). When the river card results in a chop pot, Hellmuth refused to pay the insurance premium; he essentially hustled the table (Patrik, Ivey) into paying him 17:1 when the true odds when chopped pots are ignored were much less.

That being said... I never... ever... want to be at Phil's table if I am ever lucky enough to get a chance to play in the WSOP. You either lose to him and he's nice, or he makes you uncomfortable on tv and embarrasses you if you win.
And I give you 110% props, because at first I was a bit judgemental about your online play when you lost. You would get upset, and huff and puff in situations... but then I took a closer look at myself and realized I do the same exact thing, maybe even more! In terms of engaging with a new audience/future poker players, Negreanu would have been better as a mentor-type figure since he has experience not only in content creation/streaming, but also in creating educational content for people unfamiliar with the game.
Basically, HCL should have done more to get DNegs on, since how many poker stars have their own channel on TH-cam and regularly create engaging content? We're in a new normal, and it seems only DNegs is ahead of the curve here.

Phil did these things while moving the cards to Dwan. I doubt he even knows or considers how that looks to an amateur.

I think Alex Botez played better poker than most of the other players at the table. She did get a very lucky run of cards as well.

Phil should've called the floor and let them review and provide options.
The way he tried to control and manipulate whether intentionally or not was grossly unfair.
I find it really strange as he passes his cards to Tom he's looking straight at slime

wasn't even poker, more of high stakes bingo. Lets face it poker would be a very boring watch on TV, if players just sit there with their sunglasses and headphones on, never talked. Why is Phil one the most known poker players, because of his act. The poker players that make the ratings are the ones we all know by name.

    Daniel / Terrence / Adam - thank -u thank -u thank-u :)
Could not have said it better myself but it means so much more coming from 3 guys who are known & well respected in the poker world.
These super streamers are extreamly intelligent… clearly much smarter than mr.H !! Why invite him to poker stream that was going to have the most viewers ever ?? There’s long list of pros who would have fit in & been CooL to everybody.
Btw - hustler graphics said fold & Tuchman who knows poker as well as anybody said Fold - he pushed his cards forward the same way he folded all night - so what is a new player supposed to think ??
    😎🇨🇦✌️
Btw - I understand that high limit games have “different” rules but poker rooms that I’m used to playing in strictly do not allow showing cards or flashing cards to get reaction from opponents. Why ?TO AVOID ALL THIS NONSENSE

Hard to get on Phil's case about attacking Alexandra on the HCL stream - he is just fitting in: if you read the chat on any of their streams if you are an Asian female they'll generally say you are hot, but all other women get a constant barrage of insults, calling them fat, stupid, don't know what they are doing, they have to prostitute themselves to build their bankroll, etc. It is extremely toxic to any female players over there.

Phil was a childish rude NIT. He made poker players look like a bunch of crotchety old men. Ms Botez is a chess master. She is no fool. I bet she did some study to at least know how to play the game at a competent level. The rest she understood instinctively. All of the gamers are smart and personable. While the rest of them were having fun, Phil pouted, insulted, and berated them. I don't think he tried to angle anybody on the controversial "show the cards" hand, but his action was confusing. He should have known better. Phil is a good poker player for sure, but creating that scenario as an angle is way too complicated to put together.

They can take polls that say people hate Phil, but look at YT content. Videos with Helmuth get a ton of views. Same with Daniel. John Little just has to mention Daniel and he gets a ton of views. Phil is a guy we love to hate. The fact Phil can threaten to not play any more to get his way, says it all. Just look at that Persson match. Phil basically acts like a Mafia boss 'you shut up or I'll get them to take your money!". Think of how intimidating that is to players!! That the casino does whatever Phil says. Persson sat there and stopped talking while Phil berated him. They did nothing to Phil. But it's great theatrics for the viewing audience.

I’ve been waiting for this podcast to drop since the livestream! I really don’t get how people can defend Phil. He’s clearly not acting when he does shit like this. The angle be shot on Slime was too much for me. I don’t think he meant to cause the problem, but he was definitely folding until he saw he was ahead, but Slime was still live so he made a deal so he didn’t have to see the runout. Just disgusting. He’s clearly a narcissistic, douche-bag. And I’m sure he’s a decent guy to people he knows and likes, but that doesn’t erase his table manners.

Hi Daniel hope your doing well. Your are to me the best poker player not only in Canada , you are the best in the world. I get sick of these so called Pro's on Twitch putting your game down and our country. Lex Veldhuis for one, which I care less for being band for standing up for you and our Beautiful Country Canada !! Please challenge him in a heads up and shut him up for good please !!! Keep up the great playing. Were behind you !:) That guy thinks he's great and trust me he is one of the worst players I ever seen on Twitch playing poker !!!

I didn't catch much of the live coverage of the WSOP this year. What angle is Daniel talking about Chance shooting at 32:23?
Also I'm slightly saddened they didn't mention the JJ vs 77 chop against Ninja. The absolute golden highlight of the stream for me.

I listened on Spotify and this episode was so confusing. It was like there were 2 or 3 independent convos happening at the same time and I checked 4 or 5 times that it was still playing and my connection was still good during extended moments of dead air. I don't know what went wrong this week but it was a tough listen.

Phil clearly saw the armature reach for his cards and in the motion to flip them over, he made the decision not to look away lol, that kinda proves he was and is willing to take full advantage of situations like this. I don't think it started as an angle but once it began he took full advantage and since he has so many years of experience it makes me wonder if he was free rolling this scenario, I think Daniel is giving Phil a tad too much credit on this one... as poker gets harder pros are getting scummier..

I was just rewatching Daniel vs Polk live heads up, and the announcers brought up a pretty interesting thing about multi tables. While it was a small size, Daniel was doing well 1 on 1. I could be wrong, but I think Doug is more use to playing multi tables which leads to easier and quicker play with less mistakes. I almost want to see you guys do another one, but only 1 table. I just believe that Daniel would be much closer and could possibly win.
That being said, Doug really opened my eyes to how great he is, I wish I could pick his brain. I know he has a website, but I can't help but think its your basic info for average players. If anyones ever tried out his Poker info, please feel free to let me know if its worth it.

I think if you Daniel would participat in one of those events, if there will be another, and than make a Hand (or better an Event) Take Video with one of the participants would be an amazing advertising for Poker. Maybe even coach that streamer a bit and take him to an tournament and vlog the entire thing.
I hope if there will be another Streamer event they invite Daniel, scotty nguyen, liv Boeree or Victoria Cohen. That would be could content and good promotion for poker.
