I always had a weird feeling when anybody said that "time heals all wounds"..time doesn't heal anything. When you just observe and accept things as they are they transform naturally, not in a long, drawn out time span. The difficult part is not to look away because it hurts.

Absolute observation means there is no time and it happens immediately. When we say "how am I to stop chattering", what we are doing is creating more thoughts (the "how am I to stop chattering" is another thought) and adding it to the pile of chattering already going on !! That's like adding more gasoline to put out a fire. What JK is saying is to not think but simply SEE (or observe) that this chattering is going on (and simply know that it is pointless to chatter all the time). That stops it.

In summary, in my opinion, what he says is anything that is grasped by mind is duality that exists in 3d world and the more one tries to negate one thing using its apposit, it autimatically takes time into consideration and if time is a constant , it means mind is just focused on thesame thing that is trying to negate..So the bottom line is to go beyond mind, that is pure consciousness, and mindfulness!

He don't want to be world techer but has become a teacher of philosophy - this was reverse psychology being marketed. To tell you the fact - all his followers first get radicalising - once that is achieved - it is to put into his groove . Meditation by any means is more non-sensical activity. What is purpose of meditation is to calm the mind . If that is achieved by simply having no regrets of past nor having no desire to achieve great things in life . Great people have not become great because they wanted become great but because they lead a life of simplicity and their minds wants to good to the society. As long as meditation is not a means to achieve something in life - it's meditation. Meditation is simply leading peaceful life not even desire to reach God . If at all there is a God - he will come to you. Only one person as I know is Gautham Buddha who has taught real meditation by which we can achieve health and intellectual mind to understand life in totality

It's like there is kind of split personality, and instead of the energy of consciousness being in one place, it's scattered at many places and this creates dissonance and negative emotion, because some parts are unhappy of what the others are doing, but at the moment you commit to full acceptance, all of the little trailing ends harmonize and are brought back together because they are all happy realizing they're all one thing

THE ILLUSION OF CONTROL: EMBRACING DIRECT OBSERVATION.
    * Asking "how" to stop internal chatter is a wrong question, since it introduces time and distracts from direct observation. When we chase something that is not a present fact, that pursuit implies time and thus more chattering. However, by observing the chattering as it is, without trying to change it, all energy is concentrated in that observation, which leads to its dissolution.
    * The chattering mind and the observer are one, therefore any effort to change it creates conflict.
    * True quietness arises not through methods of meditation or time-based practices but through direct, undistorted observation of the mind without trying to alter it. Real change happens when all energy is focused on understanding the present fact, leading to a natural transformation.

I couldn't understand how to implement it ... I was introduced to this idea by Emil Cioran - face the fact directly without distractions - but it's implementation was always a mystery ...
So, I came to the comment section to seek an implementation method/approach - and it suddenly hit me - facing the fact means just accepting it as it is - not interacting and trying to modify it to suit personal ends - and suddenly for a moment the chattering went away - the necessity to seek went away - and truly it suddenly felt like time had momentarily halted ...
But, it was momentary ... And I immediately had the impulse to interact with this "timeless/facing fact" experience - and vent it - write down this comment ... I distracted myself from facing the fact - and the chattering is back, the desire for the chatter to go away is back, time is back ..

The simplest way would be to drop the 'I'!!!! "Chattering" is typical of duality," I" and " you".If I need to communicate with you, yes, dialogue would be required,so that we understand one another. This communication should ideally end after meeting the basics of subsistence to the extent of food, clothing and shelter, and one comes to functional action.Problem is,I need to continue my dialogue, which now transforms into "chatter",as it has now become a means to enhance my comfort zone, and I intend to spend the rest of my life indulging in one sensual experience after another with that " other".For this chatter to end,I will have to switch over to introspection into the working of a mind, and what provokes it to divide into illusory images and perpetuate division and violence, using "chattering" as a weapon.

You and chattering are one. You remain until the chattering remains.

He talks about observing.. but who is the observer here? The mind again..ryt? So mind is observing the mind..and we r again caught up in the same loop.. ryt?

@@shubhamchoubey7361 but do you recon he was watching his mind as he speaks of when he gets frustrated during his lectures? Or is that part of a story. Does Krishna really exist apart from as a part of your mind, same as this comment. Do I really even exist.. This is just text that you see and feel the meaning of the words as each moment passes. Haha, just kidding. Fun memory though. My name is Hugo.

Yeah, when you don't have enough awareness of your inner self and want to play intellectual games all day, in those circumstances all becomes a wonderful story. After all, humans are story-driven species

Hmm.. other fellow.. my mind is like a cavern of chaos.. echoed to become one.. ppl call me retarded.. but the calculations endless.. if anything perhaps .. I am the other fellow of my mind.. silence only the drowning sound from listening to others.

Pure semantics, play with words. TM is to quieten the mind. JK abuses it. He has not given steps to avoid the chattering of the mind at all.

Yes!.it is us not the mind who is chattering...we observe so many things and those things come in our mind and we feel why are they coming?.. The moment you ask yourself what are u thinking or saying? Your mind will be blank !

Once I have listened Krishnamurti ji He said we have learned very much there is something beyond learning.unlearned,In my view That's gives true fact but nowadays even Principle have been used for self perpose through mechanism as inanimate things like metal exist as machinary. but there would be beyond Principle which canot be used that is true over Principle. Principle are simple and make understand what is their property. Many times it seems routine daily.Non violence to be more & more silent. To be aware to awake with that true knowledge,"The knowledge not for mine but for universal no part of any other for individual mine.

Observation requires energy in mind coming altogether. That energy is light .
    Be a minute observer .

We can see or hear only when the mind is mot chattering, not preoccupied in thoughts . This means we are not mind. Mind is thought or feeling. Amimals don't have mind it seems

I see lot of you have understood what he was trying to convey. Can anyone please care to explain me? Does he mean observe your thoughts as seer so that all your focus is on your thoughts and hence you become thoughtless?

  • @knp4356
    @knp4356 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The mind that’s asking how is the observer. So the observer asking how is taking up all the energy and there is no more chattering. Observer and observed are the same.

He's on about the internal voice we all have, that chats away asking questions and going over things in our past which can cause us anxiety. Once we realise it's part of ourselves chatting away, then it's possible to make this less, or stop it altogether. 🕊
