Did the modification. Worked great after I returned the 2 3/8 because they gave me a WOOD saw. Sounds better. Watched your header replacement video. May give that a try. Thanks for sharing! Ride safe! 👍
Just I’d this on lunch at work today. Not as easy as it looks. Definitely need a hole saw for metal. Ours are for wood. I had to improvise. But the sound is so much better. Definitely worth it. And I didn’t have to spend any money.
Update, measurements were spot on with the hole drill. All drilled out and it's not stupid loud but gives it a nice low sound as seen here. Definitely worth doing.
Will a slip on for an older rc390 (2017-2020) still fit a 2022? I'm wondering if they made any changes or if I can order a slip on (yoshi) for an older year molder - they do not seem to have anything on the market yet for newer models. Also, if I do this, does it effect the engine or the bike in any way? Or would my only concern be messing up the exhaust.. Would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks.
Obviously I'm asking for your honest opinion based on your knowledge, I wouldnt hold you liable for anything just curious more than anything. Trying to figure out if it is worth it to buy something aftermarket and make it work or if it isnt even worth it
Could you just take the bolts out around the screen on the end cap and saw the decimal killer out, then bolt the screen shroud back on so it looks stock? Thanks for the vid
Sure....You will want to make sure you have a fuel x lite autotuner to make up for the loss of back pressure though...I covered this earlier in this build series playlist...
Holesaw is what he used. But in my case I drilled through the small holes on the perimeter around the screen because my holesaw wasn’t doing the trick.
@Fastidious Restomods yeah but based on the vid, the screen didnt seem to have any marks that it had been sawwed.. was wondering if you were able to just pry it off or something. Many thanks for the reply

Glad it helped

That was my goal and yes you need a metal hole saw as shown in the video.
I love that sound ❤
It's a fun bike
I'll definitely be doing this, probably this weekend. I'll report back with results.

Thank you for sharing I will try it
You’re welcome 😊
Sounds a lot better, but is anywhere you're planning on taking adventures require a spark arrestor?
Street bike....street bike....street bike :D
did you get a comparison of the OEM before and after also the after market? thank you
It's included in the playlists of my bike build series. Thanks for tuning in
So i can get to the silencer

I can only speak for the mod I did in this video. I did cover a slip on in this build series playlist earlier.
@@SeanFillner If I do what you did to the stock pipe will it effect anything? I dont want to mess anything up engine wise

Are those rear indicators stock or u got them aftermarket
Oem
This is cool but I can't find any of those exhausts on ebay or anywhere else, I'd like to keep an unmodded one just in case
I do not regret it one bit.
never know that removing the stock DB killer sound is good.

Not sure. Bike sold long ago.
@@SeanFillnerwhy did you sell it?
@@kannan6949 was purchased to learn on
How to get the bolt off from the clamp? I wanna take the muffler off but the bolt is stuck on that clamp.
Use your hands and a wrench.
12mm socket.
How did you remove the DB killer ? Did you cut it ?
Watch the ENTIRE video....
Do you know how much louder the exhaust is? In dB?
The original is at 85dB at 4500 rpm
No idea
I took that whole setup off and straight piped it. Way better.
I bet the neighbors love you! I personally prefer the way it sounds so I kept this setup.
@@SeanFillnerfuck the neighbors 🤣🍆
Any hp gains??
No dyno so I cannot tell you for sure. Scientifically the higher rpm should see a bit more.
did doing this change the performance of the bike at all?

I did it with my husky with the same power plant... It'll transform the bike 🔥
Yes it does!
How to remove the screen??

Wait wait ✋️ hold up there is a screen holding the packing
Nope. Not on the 2022 can there isn't
You just take out the dB killer an sound like this??😱
Have you viewed all of the videos in this build series playlist??
Please let me know sir
It's in the video. I am not sure what else you need??
@@SeanFillner it didnt show how you removed the screen
The screen that covers the exhaust exit
@@rjsgrjsg5339 hole saw. It sure did. I explained it.

Bro you need to take the resonator out
No thanks, I enjoy my neighbors...
Fair enough 😂
if you want it to have a deeper sound you need to gut or delete the bread box under the bike
I tried that and it did not work. This is the BEST combo for this bike.
Take those shitty reflectors for the license plate off?
I don't remove increased safety and visibility from my bikes. This bike sold long ago so you can talk to the new owner about it.
