Here in Canada on the prairies, our leaf season is short and intense. They start turning around Sept, and pour down like rain in Oct. Nov is snow. I borrowed an idea from Countryside, and got all my clients on weekly leaf cleanup (mostly mulching). It's a good system because it allows me to extend my regular route for another month at an increased rate, with very few huge piles to deal with. The nice thing is to make it seamless with no down time between grass and snow.
Good points Russell on the leaves in our area!! Curious how you typically go about mulching various yards. The technique you use? Also, love the Isuzus, not worrying about a trailer is nice!
I’m just up the street from you in Forsyth county and I do exactly what you do for leave cleanups. If I can’t mulch it I don’t do it. I do only take weekly customers though. Alittle harder to find but if you have fertilized grass I refuse to do it biweekly with Bermuda. This year hasn’t been bad because of the lack of rain but rainy season is just too much work to do bi weekly imo.
@@GwinnettLawns I just have a policy if it’s a fertilized yard it has to be weekly. This year hasn’t been terrible because of the lack of rain but these fertilized Bermuda lawns with a lot of rain I spend so long double cutting and blowing clippings that I just refused to to it anymore
Hey 👋 I'm a GA native too the 80's this week felt great compared to 98° some rain would not hurt! I'm looking into a debris loader too check out the blue color brand called "Powerhorse" they're over half the price of a BillyGoat or Little Wonder but it gets work done reviews & warranty seem okay mostly will be purchasing at the end of the year for tax purposes.
Hi Russell, Keith in Snellville. Was wondering if you have ever used or demoed the Skagg 30 inch push mower? Thinking about buying one this winter to use next year on some of my yards.
Hi Keith, nope never tried the Skagg but if I was looking for a mower in that size I would take a hard look at the Ferris FW15. I like that mower but never used one yet.
@@Rockstarlawncare I’ve never used X blades because the energy required to turn them is a little more than the FS 600 should be able to handle. The best mulching blades I’ve ever found are the Ballard ripper blades.

I have a vid on the list to talk about just that point, and it wont include any bagging or leaf collecting.
The leaves are coming, I saw a few last week because of how dry it had gotten, but we got a big rain last night! doing the same as last year!
@@upscalelawncaremonroe408 yep every yard that we’re doing so far is got leaves in it mostly because of the drought.

Well hi neighbor! I wish I could break the barrier of bi-weekly but its a tough sell around here.

Do you use x blades set up for mulching or just plain mulching blades?
