    A poker pro once told me, " all slow playing does is cost you money." When you flop a set, build the pot yourself, don't wait for others to do it for you.

      U played the 22s fine but u should have folded on the river. You got called then raised 100% jt as the hand played out. Also don't raise turn your still getting called by JT even if u bet 150$ u get 2 calls and on the river you will get stacked. I think you played the hand perfectly until u called river bet. JT is still calling turn bc he has implied odds to stack you or other player. @BrantzenPoker

      That’s true in loose passive games. In a tough short handed games with tons of stabbing and checkraising it’s amazing to slow play a set. In a loose passive game where you’re getting called down by Q9 it makes sense to start blasting on the flop.

    I am a house player in Texas. I get paid by playing in a local poker club. I make about $6K-$8K at $1/3 NLH and sometimes $5/5 games in a month. My total monthly income from playing poker is over $10K.

    For the 22 hand, it makes much more sense to bet bigger on the river like 200-250. You make more value when you get called and it won't generate many more folds. Then, if you get raised you have a very easy fold.

    Loving the content! The Narrative of your journey makes it super engaging. I understand you say that you were under-bankrolled for Hustler - with that said I also understand your position as "poker player / content creator" instead of just "poker player"; getting onto these streams and getting your face out there is important so I see it as a calculated risk that just didn't pay off.

    The biggest problem that I saw with you playing in the Hustler's stream is that not only were you not playing your best but the WAY MORE IMPORTANT thing is do not play bigger games then your backroll let's you. This is by far the most important rule to a professional poker player. I lived off of $20/$40 limit poker for 3 years while paying rent in Atlantic City in 2008...Never once did I take a chance at a higher game! You have to stay disciplined! I want this dream to work for you more than anyone but you NEED to hold yourself accountable and you will need friends like me to tell you the truth when it's hard to hear! I have faith you will climb out of this hole tho! Good luck brother!

    • @amptransformers2257
      @amptransformers2257 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ok, im like half way through, you are right. You need to bet way way way more. It is far better to bet and charge your opponents to draw out on you rather than trying to be tricky playing your hand and then let them get there for free. a bet on the turn and then the river with the set of dueces wins you middle size pot instead of losing $400! Poker is HARD bro! I'm sure you know that! Keep up the good work tho! Make sure you keep studying and using that info to improve your game! Doing great!

    This may sound weird, but I think that Hustler livestream disaster will end up being a good thing in the long run. You learned some valuable lessons, and next time you take a shot you'll have a much better idea how to prepare for it. Of course I wish you had won big, but I think you're going to be all right in the end. Here's to a huge 2024!
