The Udege language, part of the Tungusic language family, is critically endangered, with few speakers in the southern Russian Far East, including Khabarovsk Krai, Primorsky Krai, and the Jewish Autonomous Oblast. The Udege population in Russia increased slightly from 1970 to 2002 but declined to 1,496 in 2010. They have historical connections to the Manchu and Nanai ethnic groups and potentially share origins with the Xi Yeren Jurchen.
Traditionally, the Udege people were semi-nomadic, settling in specific river-based territories in family groups. Linguistically, the Udege language and the Oroch language form a shared continuum, with a division along a "north-south" line affecting phonetics, morphology, vocabulary, and syntax.

"Respect"? Heh, this word is not about these people (I mean the government). They are currently sending all people to be slaughtered in the war. And, unfortunately, small indigenous peoples also have no regrets.

Whenever I see a language from this area, no matter how insane it sounds, I always try to find a connection to Japan, and Japanese. But no, this sounds closer to the Native American languages. Although there is the tale itself of the 7-tailed fox, which bears witness in Japanese culture as well.

Of the very little we have of Hunnic, it seems most likely they were Turkic. Why do you posit they were Tungusic? I have never even encountered such a position.

For me, all the cultures of the Far East and North of Russia are very interesting. They have something in common with the Indians, but at the same time they have something of their own.
And in my opinion, they have very beautiful national clothes!
