16:55 Just to let you know, the reason why there was a weird cut because there was originally a cameo by RelaxAlax (the Supreme Leader). However, since Ep. 100, he landed in controversy for allegations and when he was put in the episode for a cameo, some people called Scott out for including him (think the victim also told Scott). So after the episode released, Scott removed his cameo in like July 2020. I just wish they refilmed the scene with JUST the costume so we wouldn't have that weird cut.
OOOH!!! I knew about the controversy and the cameo removal, but I didn't even that was where the cameo was placed. I'm still fairly new to this, so I'm trying to adjust to it lol
The cut was able to just be done in the youtube studio editor, yeah sure the weird cut is... weird, but refilming would mean having to reupload the video entirely, one that probably got hundreds of thousands of views before the cut happened. And views for TH-camrs.... that's money!
I have been a Scott fan since early 2018. By the time BF was released, there was a lot of expectation for what would the anticipated 200th episode would be. I was there for the release. It was amazing seeing a full blown movie and it really paid off. A lot of jokes and references to STW lore.
I remember before this movie came out scott made a post asking for people to submit videos of pretending to be an earthquake for a new episode and he used those clips for all those people reacting to the border because he felt that that was the best way to get the reactions he wanted without spoiling
Ah yes, the ol' Williamson, Sir Garrett, I remember him. Yup, I totally didn't forget to add him into the script and by the time I found out it was too late... nope... not me...
Still can't believe he got Hyper Potions to do his outro theme. This was a such a huge collaborative project its got its own fucking soundtrack! like what?
@@Star.6739 Of course! Nicholas and Garrett put so much soul into their scores too. They were responsilbe for a good chunk of the songs in the webfilm.

I had a conversation about this recently and I think this video is definitely a good explanation of borderline forever as a film. As someone who wants to do more story focused things with this platform, borderline forever (and maybe even more so RPG guy) have influenced me a ton. Glad I found this! I know you have like five uploads, but this video quality is really good! I can’t wait to see you build a community over time, this stuff is fire.
Not something that'd be acceptable for movie theaters or anything, but it's a fun watch for scott the woz fans. This is how you do a movie for a youtube channel, imo.
I showed the movie to my friends once while we were on a vacation, they had no experience with Scott the Woz and didn't really care about the video game youtube stuff but they still found a bit of enjoyment in it
Watching Borderline Forever for the first time will forever be legendary for me... Heck, it was even released on my birthday and 2 years later I did a through linguistic analysis of it as a part of my end of the year research project in school! Too bad that wasn't a good fit for the audience at the conference as I'm certain my work is pretty unique in its theming... The only reason I spent 24 hours making a table for commentary on difficult to understand moments for foreigners from the movie (each with their time code) is my sheer passion for Scott's work
I want to add, from an inspiring drawn mascot youtuber to another. 1. Making your character move more, change postions more, maybe a little hop into another position. 2. Make the background a scene. So you stick out from the other mascot youtubers. 3. Lip sync if it isn't to much. It makes the same effect as subtitles on a yt short. Something simple to look at. 4. Make the lines on your mascot less wiggly and more... Confident. You understand? Thank you if you read this and I hope it helps.
I see your thoughts, and I agree 1,000%... except... it's not that simple. Believe me, I would love to fix how my avatar looks immediately, but it's not easy to. I am in the process of fixing it tho, it's just a very long process. As for the background? Well, I'm lazy, so I haven't gotten to that lol Thanks for the advice though. I will take it into deep consideration.
The only thing about this movie that sadly aged poorly was the special guest appearance of Brett Farve, given the massive weelfare scandal he was involved in just meer months after this movie came out.
Even on a thematic level I think Borderline Forever works as a movie specially when thinking of it within the idea of a show, serialized television lives and dies by how well they can maintain things the same while doing something that is technically new and Borderline Forever uses the fact that it's a milestone movie to speak on the subject with the audience being able to have a frame of reference from every other episode or simply from the start of the movie. It's the definition of a character study except it's done in a comedic tone and focusing on such a human struggle such as repeating oneself, in case you couldn't tell my Borderline Forever college thesis didn't get accepted and making a Joker Rex Mohs edit hasn't appeased me
@namingisdifficult408 we literally have the terms short film and feature film. Definitions change with time as concepts become larger and more complicated. A movie may have started as shorthand for moving picture but the general definition now is 70 minutes plus
This was a fun video, but I feel like it's mostly due to the subject matter. It was cool to hear another person enthusing about Scott, but aside from that and a couple of critiques, it didn't feel much like a review? It kind of felt like a condensed plot recap with some opinions here and there. I feel like it'd have been better if you elaborated on the critiques you had? At one point, you mention the final scene as being "not climactic at all". That could've been a good opportunity to go further and explain what a worthy climax would've looked like, and why exactly it felt so anticlimactic. For instance, I think that the moment was undercut by how there was a fight scene immediately prior, making the blue border confrontation seem underwhelming in comparison. Your evaluation is kind of undone by you saying that you don't care - if you don't care, why make a video? On this same note, it was good to hear how much you liked Scott, but it'd have been really neat if you had gone into specific detail about that, too! Maybe you could make the video a piece on why you think Scott appeals to such a wide range of people in the video game TH-cam sphere? That would make for an interesting discussion. I don't think I've ever seen anyone actually criticise him, and it almost feels like a fool's errand to try, because his videos mostly succeed at exactly what they try to do - but wouldn't that make it all the more interesting to look at *why* his work resonates with so many people? I see potential with your video, but I think you might want to work on your format a little bit, at least going off of this one. I hope I didn't sound mean or unreasonable or anything. Best of luck!
Ah, would you look at that, an essay-long constructive criticism look at my video. First-off, thank you for this newer perspective on my video. I find it integral to understand how people view my videos, both good and bad, and how I can build off that, becoming better than I was before. Now, to tackle your critiques... I completely agree. I don't have a reason for why this video is the way it is other than these two facts. 1) It was one of my first videos where I was trying to find my footing between summarizing the property or actually sharing my thoughts on the subject (this is really seen in my Sonic Duology video, where I summarize the first movie but actually analyze the second movie, mainly because I was writing this video in between my transition between the two). If I could rewrite and remake the video I would, but as it stands right now, It's a good way to measure how far I've grown since when I've started. 2) A little secret about how I used to write videos; to help make writing easier, I would physically WRITE out my videos on paper, which took a LOT more time than I had thought. A caveat that came with this way of writing out scripts was the fact that I couldn't fully write out my thoughts, since it would take me a while to finish writing a script. Plus, my laptop was in the shop when I started writing, but I was too excited to wait, so I just wrote everything on paper. However, I've shifted from paper to computer, which allows me to flesh out my ideas much better, and makes corrections easier than when I first started. Thank you for your critiques, Sir Ick who just so happens to be a dragon, thank you for watching my video, and thank you for finishing my response. I do encourage you to breathe some air (I hear it's good for you), and enjoy the next 17 hours (have a blessed day).
