    If those carriers in versus got those repair drones from the legacy of the void campaign then I’ll either build too many Vikings or get destroyed by void rays being repaired by carriers.

    Back in good old Broodwar, having a battlegroup (12) of Carriers, it's near unstoppable, since anything short of Battlecruisers, Devourers or other Carrier would get shredded in seconds.

    Awesome series! Awesome content! The concept of "don't let them get 15 Carriers" has been a hard one to explain to friends learning the game. I think it comes off a little backhanded, like saying "just Macro better." Doing well in the early to mid-game and having vision / scouting your opponent can go a LONG way towards avoiding this scenario. That being said, I just played a 2v2 as Terran and flew my flock of Vikings into the center of mass Carriers and almost lost us the game; so I still have much to learn.

      Oof I feel the pain of that Viking mis-micro. I suppose I should have added that the Viking answer is a bit micro-intensive. Vikings can be rather soft, and quite vulnerable to splash damage. Totally agreed on the backhanded sense of that statement.. imagine my expression when I had the conversation that the Terran counter to Skytoss is a strong marine-tank build. With solid execution, you're ideally hitting before the 15 carriers show up. An indirect counter can be hard for newer players to grasp.

      @@IndigosGaming I mostly play Bio (Marine micro is super enjoyable) so I have a love / hate relationships with Vikings. I should treat them more like Marines with super range and flight but I often treat them like Battlecruisers and have them do really, really dumb stuff. "Indirect counter" is a perfect way to describe that; I'll be using that for sure.

      I've never really thought about it, but I share your sentiment. There has been plenty of TvT games that I've tried to skip Vikings in favor of more Marines. Bio is just too much fun to play.

    Protoss Carrier's range is too short , the price too expensive , slow moving , what else ?
    it's not an effective unit

      Carriers really need some sort of active ability like BCs do. It’s bizarre that they fulfill similar roles but one gets abilities and the other doesn’t.
      Fenix’s Carrier hero in co-op might be a good template. Make the laser or bombers a cooldown ability for normal carriers.

      especially given the fact that they are extremely expensive to make and as soon as they leave the gate they are not even at their maximum potential.
      I don't understand the whole thing that Protoss have all the expensive units and have to have upgrades before they become useful while Terrans can do all sorts of cheap shenanigans except for Thor and BC​@@TheLeadElite

      @@abyrvalg_ that leaves me with the ability to warp in an army still at home and I leave 4 batteries at every base... most of the time it will create a long enough delay to where I come out ahead in base trading.
