Here is the problem in the campaign: those cape wearing dark warriors don’t merge into archons which means those air units will slaughter those cape wearing units without retaliation.
Detection is required for the bio forces to fight back. In that fight, there was a Raven above the Terran forces providing the detection. In a realistic setting, you're more likely to see the Terran scan the area with an Orbital Command.
My favorite Dark Templar were Naruto and Sasuke. I especially loved it when they fused their psychic energy to become an Archon to defeat Madara.

True, but that Shadow Fury ability in the LotV campaign is seriously nice!

They can't transfuse off creep. Keep creep contained and look out for droplords, and queens won't do well offensively
