    God, I loved this show!!! Thanks for uploading. I love that Benjamin Walker had to stall when the hydraulics didn't work in time for Alice Ripley to appear as the dry cleaner.

    How can someone put so little emotion into a character and still be perfect (I know that's supposed to be the character, it's just amazing)

    I started trying to learn the dance from Selling Out and it's actually so hard

      It is. I tried doing it and the timing of the movement are so intricate

      It is,especially the end and the fixing jacket move. I'm having the same trouble with the True Faith dance

      +Natalie “natkatlat” Latta Oh I haven't tried True Faith because the whole thing is basically that fixing jacket move but like multiplied by a thousand. The other part of Selling Out that I was having trouble with was the stompy thing where they turn around and stuff. I can't really describe it.

      That part is so hard because it's two steps forward then turn while stepping

      But they said they would make a original broadway cast version anyway

      Alec Strickland Out of interest who's Patrick Bateman do you prefer? I think Ben Walker has the better singing voice, but Matt Smith really nails the uninterested and distant personality if Bateman even during his songs which adds an extra layer of his insanity.

    Okay, with the effects and lighting, it really looks cool. I had seen the videos of them without it and it seemed....kinda boring. Not terrible, just missing something.

    Question:I know it just went off broadway, but whats the likelihood of a seconed run? if so how long do you think it take for it to come back?

      Never, this was a huge flop. I can't see this even getting a tour.

    • @emc9114
      @emc9114  8 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      actually, i wouldnt call it a "huge flop" financially. it never had attendance rate below 70% and it went out in full houses on its last days. it was making money. not hamilton bucks but it was doing fine. the problem was that the show was incredibly polarizing as it gained die hard fans, but also got hate from many "broadway people" including Tony's. they were expecting to record obc soundtrack and even film the show soon, according to duncan shiek, but as soon as it got basically no recognition from Tony nomination despite it being one of the most talked about shows of the season, the carpet was pulled and was quickly cancelled as the theater thought it would be a loosing cause without getting invited to the Tony. so theres no chance it getting revived or tour as it ran for like 2-3month with zero recognition outside of its religious fandom.

    • @TheSilentOne50

      It received fairly good reviews, it's just that not enough people went to see it.

    • @rubythedogproductions1330
      @rubythedogproductions1330 8 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      why do the tony's matter so much in the theater industry? Like getting an Oscar in the filmmaking industry and getting a Grammy in the music industry is great, but there are plenty of great artists ose industries that don't have them and they're still successful. Why is it different for theater?

    • @TheSilentOne50
      @TheSilentOne50 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fewer productions, I assume.

    As much as I love the Broadway version, the London version of "Not A Common Man" is wayyyyy better.

    • @cooleffectsfilms
      @cooleffectsfilms 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It is, but the ending in the broadway version is more emotional

    • @eraserboy12345
      @eraserboy12345 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cooleffectsfilms could you explain more the difference between the two endings and what made the broadway more emotional than the west end?

    • @cooleffectsfilms
      @cooleffectsfilms 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@eraserboy12345 I was referring to the ending of the song really, but on this one, the broadway version, he starts to end the song with phrases like "I am not here, I am not there". Whereas the west end version ends with a reaffirmation of him needing more. I think this has to do with the portrayal of the character because Benjamin Walker plays Patrick as a more vulnerable and sad person who truly wants to connect and be seen as a real person, in a world where everyone is treated as an object, rather than playing him as an angered and manic person who just wants to be the centre of attention.
