    Imagine the freaking terror you'd feel as a barbarian who has never seen an organized military force before, and you saw the armies of Rome marching in perfect lock-step towards your village.

    I am from central Italy, my family too. I remember going to Rome almost every weekend with my parents when I was a child, and I remember my father telling me about ancient Rome. He was so passionate about it. He clearly felt a deep connection with our ancestors. Now I am 24, I don't want to sound exaggerated, but I get emotional everytime I see something about ancient Rome. I feel a deep connection with my cultural ancestors too. I love studying and learning about them. And I feel really proud. So that's gold for me, so thank you. Saluti from Italy, the birthplace of the Empire.

      Be proud of your culture. Regardless of what anyone else says....Rome civilized the World. Perfected, Government, started Police Forces, Fire Brigades, Mail/messenger services, Connected the West to the East with roadwork, Farming, Bee keeping. Nearly every trade can be traced back to Rome. Even stadiums today are still templates of Roman Colosseums.
      Others will lay claim that Greece, Babylon, my Persia invented or started many things before Rome. However, Rome perfected it. Look at the Aqueduct systems.
      God Bless you Brother and be thankful for a Dad who instilled great pride of his Family, Culture, History and Nation.

      America ideals it self after Rome yes. Our whole history is actually modeled after them not Athens which is a common mistake among commoners who don't understand the difference. But Americans don't have the army march yet like European country's do and Russians do. we don't appropriate our military unlike the Romans. Don't let other Americans fool you into thinking other wise or we would have the most advance military in the world when we clearly don't. We just have the largest military and well trained. Even Rome did not have a huge military but their military was very advance and well trained compared to every other nation/city state in the world at the time Yes the world even the china states.

      @@rogerbramon238 You definitely have some Roman DNA, as much as the rest of Europe and Northern Africa, but being the heirs of Rome is not just a matter of DNA: Rome is the cradle of Romanity, of its architecture and its values. My city is where the rest of the world took over Western civilization from. Rome is the medium through which a new and better way of life has spread. As a Roman, I feel like a direct heir to all this, just like its lifestyle and its Mos Maiorum (elements that are increasingly vanishing in the rest of the world, but which still survive in Rome). Rome and the Romans are as much the heirs of the Roman tradition, as the Athenians are the heirs of Greek culture. This does not make other Europeans and North Africans foreigners: you definitely have a lot of influences from Roman Culture and DNA, Rome does not exclude anyone, but let me tell you that it is not the same situation.

    • @fabriziopatrolecco5326
      @fabriziopatrolecco5326 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Furthermore, when you talk about Roman architecture, you are certainly right in pointing out that hundreds of remains are in Spain, but you should also take into consideration that more than 50% of the Roman remains in the world are found in the city of Rome alone. Will this also mean something in terms of connection with Roman civilization? Will the fact that the Italian language is the most similar to the Latin language among the Romanesque languages have any value? Doesn't the fact that in Italy up until 60 years ago Latin was spoken in places of worship tell you anything? Will the fact that the Vatican, a direct bridge between ancient Rome and the modern era, is inside Rome mean anything? The point is that Rome has influenced the entire Western world, so everyone rightly feels a connection to my city to some extent, but that doesn't put us on the same level in terms of a direct connection to Roman history.@@rogerbramon238

      @@fabriziopatrolecco5326 That is what the movies have made you believe, remember that Rome was invaded and destroyed by barbarians, so most of its citizens were killed, it is also important to know that the Italians came after the Romans, so the Italians They are not descendants. of Romans since it was another civilization that was found in Roman territory, the only civilization of the Roman Empire that remained alive was Hispania, it was the only civilization where the barbarians did not come to destroy, it is true that they were not in Hispania. descendants of Rome, but were considered Roman citizens, Hispania was the only country where it continued with citizens of the Roman Empire, the only country where it continued with the Roman ideology and Roman education and it was and is the only country where it has more DNA of citizens of the Roman Empire, but the Italians do not want to accept this, you simply have to study a little history and you will see, by the way Spain is one of the countries behind Rome where there are more Roman structures. Also another important fact is that American movies make it seem that only the Romans had exclusivity and that is a lie, let us remember that 4 of the best Roman emperors were Hispanic Trajan, Hadrian, Marcus Aurelius and Theodosius, why is Spain not given so much value? easy, because it is in Spain, and we all know that the majority of German, American, British and French historians hate Spain.
