Legion locked classes is a terrible decision. At this stage devs should have long learned to stop locking classes to particular characters etc. The Gears of war community had to tear the Coalition up over it and get a patch to leave picking whatever character and whatever class to the player which is how it should be.
I think in this case with Space Marines 2, they're meant to be focused on each of the legion's strengths and weaknesses, such as the Alpha Legion being the sniper class for example.
Dude the legion class is fake news, in the multiplayer menu I can make a Death Knight as an assault or a Korn boy with a heavy bolter. Edit : the armors are locked but not the colors which doesn't make sense.

fr like... its so weird to me that they made the death guard the shield character. like i get they're supposed to be tanky but like... just as is. not with shields. it would kinda make more sense to have a world eater bulwark and a heavy gunner type death guard and have him tankey via armor and health opposed to shield
World eaters do not use shields. There are multiple warbands who actually prefer guns to melee however. Assault would make the most sense. Night lord vanguard would work too. They shouldve swapped them.
It’s unfortunate that the chaos legions are unique to specific classes, but I’d rather that than be locked to black legion armor and only have different color schemes
The problem with one side being able to be fully customizable and the other side not, is that you will be getting players who disconnect as soon as they are dropped as a chaos marine.

God I hope there is an update that changes this and allows players to have all 9 traitor legion options. Because it’s wack that in multiplayer one team is allowed to play as who they want and the other is locked to defaults.
They're legion locked, and all you can change is colour and emblems. That's the most bare minimum customisation, and ultimately, you'll always look the same as all the other Night Lord Assaults, just more out of place because you changed colour / emblems. That's not any customisation worth bothering with, really.

@@DpzLunaWarhammer That would be a even bigger F up if you have to pay to get different armor types for the class you like! Remember they said paid dlc will be visual only! They should just have legion specific armor types available for all classes and you can choose to apply them or not.
to be fair it kinda feels like the customization in general is lacking. like... if you're an ultramarine preferring player, thats great. all the customization options feel like they would fit perfect on an ultramarine. but like... salamanders or ravenguard, maybe even the dark angels etc it just... doesnt feel like it fits with the vibe they tend to go for
to be able to change colors and emblems on the chaos marines is customization yes.. but it is pathetic compared to the loyalist counterparts. guess i will only be playing as a jump pack night lord the entire multiplayer experience.

They already had this in Space marine 1, No really news. Kind of a nothing burger if you already read the post from focus home interactive.
I dont care that much honestly, the game was definitely designed around coop and unless they add operations where you play as chaos, I dont need this
