I really appreciated your review, I ended up with this mouse for over a year and it has fixed my shoulder problems.

I've stuck with this mouse for several years now. (after the first few months I did not have knock over or misfire problems anymore. Not a perfect, mouse but nothing else is quite as good as it ergonomically. Not the greatest quality, but then again, nothing else is quite like it.
I insist on my desk and keyboard drawer set up so that I can ALWAYS relax my arms against my sides in use. This helped me heal a shoulder injury (not an office injury) which was being aggravated by flat mouse and high keyboard.
Also I switched to 95% left hand mousing!

Very comprehensive review, thank you. I’m an engineer who uses CAD software all day and I’ve started to get some RSI symptoms. I think a more vertical mouse will help, but I can’t find one that has the functionality needed for CAD work and puts my hand in the right position for repetitive tasks. I appreciated the detail you gave here, especially about the height problem. I’m sure I’d knock it over every time. At $100, its definitely not what I’m looking for.
I’m just learning about 3D printing, so I’m beginning to think that designing my own ergonomic mouse might be my best option.

nice guide here, though might suggest as a test to use the Logitech mx ergo trackball with a tilter from etsy so it's more of a vertical mouse orientation. have found it to be the best of both a trackball and vertical mouse for its buttons

i just discovered your mouse device videos. truly excellent, and very different from typical commercial reviewers. i am a long time blogger about input devices, especially ergonomic keyboards. may i also ask you, what video camera are you using? recently i started to vblog too, and bought logitech c922, but it cannot autofocus close ups. thanks a lot.

Canon G7x, touch to focus if it doesn't grab the right thing automatically.

This review was super-helpful. I was on the edge on this one, and even though you ultimately liked it, I could tell it wouldn't work for me. I used to have the original Vertical Mouse and I knocked that thing off SO many times. Plus as a programmer, I think having to come to more of a dead-stop might for clicking might drive me insane. I love my Kinesis Advantage keyboard, but I'll have to pass on their mouse.

Thank you for the detailed review. I found it quite useful and will be avoiding this product.

You should print your own version!

That's a much better suggestion than my solution of adding sticky notes to the buttons :P

Have you looked at something like the Leap Motion Controller? Not quite a mouse, but a different way of interacting with the computer, which, might actually help with 3D modeling as well. Have a look! Would love to see your review on it :)

I think that problem is clicking against soft thumb, which causes pointer to move, so it is rather dragging than clicking. It can be easy solved by submerging thumb into liquid nitrogen for few minutes. Thumb becomes hard and provide 100% clicking support :-)

Hi , will you be able to compare this mouse to Evoluent D mouse? I would appreciate it if you have a video of this...Thank you.

My friend I have bough so many devices at this point I can't see spending any more $ or time on it. The best thing for pain reduction imo is a Keymecher track pad, although it is an absolute irritation to use. My favorite device is the Kensington Slimblade, although it does make my fingers and arm hurt for longer sessions.

just an idea, but how about designing your own mouse grip and 3D printing it yourself.

I've thought about it, or at least designing a custom hand rest or changing the button shape. Still figuring out what shapes and positions are actually comfortable at this point!

Glad it was helpful. I've ended up rotating between this mouse and a Kensington slimblade trackball, plus the 3D mouse for the other hand.

@@LindyDesignLab Keeping your options open then... 🙂 I've gone for the Slimblade as I really like the apparent sensitivity of the buttons and the new scrolling option. It seems more natural than the scroll ring on the Kensington Expert. I'm just hoping the scroll is 'spinnable' for larger distance and that I can get the customisation right. Anyway, thanks again for a carefully thought through review. 👍

Very easy and comfotable mouse i really like this mouse. after i use this mouse my wrist condition better than use normal mouse but it has a critical weakness , if you use the about 6month , break mouse wheel . so i buy this mouse buy..buy..buy... 3

I think the click misfires you're getting are inherent to the perpendicular design of the device, relative to the work surface. With a standard mouse, you're putting downward pressure on the mouse when you click, which virtually eliminates the mouse wanting to "drift" during a click. Physics is the enemy of this design.

3:00 and this exact problem i had with my garbage Anker Vert. Mouse and by my colleagues super expensive Logitech mouse!
Its nigh impossible to open files and do what you want, in the first attempt. And you have to concentrate on clicking every time, to get it done. Simply because you push the mouse sideways while clicking.
A price difference of 80 bucks doesn't seem to improve on this design issue, disgusting!

I hear ya on that. No reason to bother unless your hand starts protesting to standard mice.
