I know this is old but I'm hoping you had a chance to run this for a long time and tell me if it worked well or if there were problems I just bought a suncast shed and I'm looking for older videos to hear from people that actually used these for time.... if you see this any help would be greatly appreciated
I have used the generator and shed for over six years now and it still works great. Although it is manual start, it runs for hours and powers out entire house. I don't think there is anything I would do differently. Good luck with your project.
I have one of these. Since, hot air rises, the intake air should be low to the ground & exhaust air should be as high as possible, with fans added. This creates a chimney effect. Try NOT to have too much of the exhaust pipe in box. Use double-wall insulated exhaust pipe to reduce box temperature. Interior wall should be lined with a fire-resistant material. Any Ambient Air Temperature above 32°F requires the lid to be opened at least 4in or more to full open to keep box temperature down, thus mitigating the chance for our "crap gas" from expanding to a near boiling point. Keep a permanently mounted thermometer in the box to monitor temperature. Oven temperature thermometer works good. Do not go above 120°F for inside shed/box temperature. Best to incorporate a temp sensor shut down at 120°F. Make sure the gas tank vent is working or you will create a bomb. Especially as fuel gets low in tank, it will rapidly expand as temperatures go above 120°F. It will be faster than vent can evacuate gas pressure. The "rollover valve" will close due to the rapid pressure increase. Pressure then, will increase exponentially. Gives a whole new meaning to BOOMBOX. A high temp sensor for 120°F shutdown is the answer. The butane and ethanol alcohol in our gas sucks! Did I say SUCKS!!!😆
jmhm17- please see my other videos, there are several more detailed videos on the same project. good luck with your project, I would not make any changes to mine.

@@jdmac62 hey.... great! Thanks for replying on such a old video. Glad to see this has held up. REALLY APPRECIATE YOU!
Awesome layout for the Generator shed. Can you share the parts list? I'm in the process of planning the layout for a Honda Eu7000Is.

can you make a more thorough video? i am looking to do the same
I'm sure you know running it in the garage is a no 👎
Was just for demonstration purposes for the video. It is mounted outside 30' from the house.
