Technically he's been doing remakes as far back as 1 (Big Jacket originates from his previous band), and the current form of TF (the retconned "mirror to mirror") itself is a bunch of remakes, as it's the third version of most of those tracks. Will has always loved to do this kind of thing, where he'll take a track already released and change production elements or rerecord an instrument. It's what led to the guitar in the original My Boy being swapped out for a heavy bass.

It's more like he found a typo in his writing or didn't like the way a phrase was said so he made quick changes to the overall piece. Not to say you're wrong, I just wouldn't consider those to be their own songs that have been remade

Another easier example to picture would be when you chew on a little bit of aluminum foil and it touches a gold crown or amalgam filling. :)
