Dalton, you are the definition of old school. No hoist, cold garage, smoke dangling from your mouth and a barrel full of cuss words. Much respect, brother. Your motto should be "Quit your bitching and just gir 'er done". Love this channel and all of your adventures. Keep on wrenching!
😾
I do wish he'd quit that nasty habit, if not for himself ,for his family. I gave em up decades ago, he can too. You just take it one day at a time.
I wouldn't have it any other way lol.
@@Hobodeluxe960 Easier said than done though. After 50 years of smoking I'M GOING THROUGH HELL at the moment, went cold turkey but am getting by with 5-6 a day and cutting to nothing eventually. Not only has it ruined my health (all my fault) but the $$ cost is out of control.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Your comment gives me inspiration though.
Dalton l Iove your words keep it up tell it like it is screw what others think right on brother Mark downey of pleasant hill calif
Aside from the mechanical perfection of every job, it is the attention to the costume continuity between shots that underscores this channel's high commitment to quality.
I definitely agree
Aha... we have a connoisseur of quality theatrical creativity in our midst!
Are you referring to the cigarette when he's talking about the job of a man is to find a way. I thought that was gold.
Thank god for a PBG update, I was bored as hell now I’m very happy! 😂
It's amazing how one little power steering pump just snowballs into rebuilding a whole car LOL the struggle is real man. But I think most of us on here can relate. Good job as usual
That accurately describes working on cars. The oil change turns into trying to find the oil leak. Which becomes rear main seal, clutch & bearing as well as wastegate and motor mounts
The "Might as well im already here" snowballs really quick if you dont pump the brakes! Also pray the line dosent blow then its OVER for the ol wallet..
Nice job Dalton. I know you are an "everyman's mechanic" but no member would fault you if you eventually had a lift installed. Could even put it outside due to height issues. This would make it easier for us to see your work. As always, totally enjoy your channel and glad I found you when you were just barely at 1K subscribers.
Even something like a set of quick jacks makes life way easier and is reasonably affordable.
As Puddin said this week on his video, a lift not only is safer and faster, it is better on your body long term.
Look at all that rust preventer aka 10-30 motor oil good God that thing has been leaking for along time
8:14 this is without a doubt the most relatable situation I have ever come across on any content. A lot of people don’t realize that this comes from a necessity, not a choice. That mother fucking bolt is coming out, a new one is going in… or we don’t get to work tomorrow.
im pretty sure all of us dream of having a lift at home lol.
There's no better a feeling than getting into a project and realizing just how hard you cheated guaranteed death 😂 those leafs were MINT
I found your channel through junk yard digs and i really enjoy your channel because i have to work on my vehicles just like this . Floor jack , jack stands and rolling around on the ground lol . My dad had us working on cars when i was a kid . He said this will save you money in the future . Man was he right . Its saved me thousands in labor . Keep the awesome videos coming .💪
многие люди к сожалению не понимают что самому ремонтировать свою машину - помимо экономии это отличное развлечение которое как бонус прокачивает ваши навыки! )
I found out about him because of junkyard digs as well. Now I haven't watched a lot of his videos yet but the one's I have watched I have liked very much.
You stated FACTS when removing that bolt from the front end.
Been there myself, every tool out hacking and hammering.
The realest car guy on this here tube. The good, the bad and the doin it. ❤
Exactly, been there done that with a bolt before.
Always good to see a guy doing things right so his better 3/4's is safe on the road. Even better that JD gets to learn to care for others as well. Good job Dalton!
"You should always grind TOWARDS the gas tank" ah yes, my kinda people.
annnnd subbed
A fellow man of culture I see
Love it that the amount of carnage and mayhem increases by 100% when your brother arrived. Keep it up, great content!
This content is so far superior than the guys with all the toys and bullshit... realistic and relatable. Another GREAT video!!
Agreed! Relatable is the key here. Many of us work from the garage floor with just jack stands and ramps. Much respect for Dalton.
The fact that you could still touch and see the leafspring when it was out was inspiring! There's always something left people, lol
Honestly PBG and JYD are the only reason I still watch TH-cam 😂 your a bloody legend , thrashing and cutting corners that can be cut like us regular guys that don't have a fully stocked shop and a million dollars !!
Thank You Dalton! I was really looking forward to the Cobra content. The 302 Windsor will always have a soft spot in my heart, it was a relief to see that it was OK. I laughed out loud multiple times (some at your pain) during the rear spring replacement. What a giant PITA.
Probably my wife's favorite expression of mine is "There is ALWAYS a way", so I get it Bud! Excellent episode!
Pole Barn engineering. The best kind of engineering there is.
Well done on bringing the car back from the brink. A well-deserved survivor, for sure. It should serve Jesse very well.
Neil :-)
After the amount of broken 🔩 bolts and burns to keep working on this car shows you got a lot of patience and you love what you do Dalton keep up the great work 👍🙂
I knew that bolt was screwed as soon as I saw that cigarette come out!!!!! Lol!!
I love how he has a smoke after the bolt fight lol
New Year, more PBG with Dalton, Jess, and JD. Can't think of a better way to start 2024!
Hope you and the family had a great holiday season. Looking forward to more great content.
Can't help it - every time I see PBG I think 'Peanut Butter & Gelly[SIC]'
There's nothing like finding out you've been riding on hopes and dreams in those leaf springs
Man, that was fun watching you guys refresh that Mustang II suspension. I LOVED my 1978 Mustang II King Cobra... mine was the 302 4 spd, bright red with t-tops - what a fun machine. I sold it in the spring of 1984 ... I hope the family I sold it to still has it. Keep up the great work!
Omg! You and Cody attempting to get the rear u-bolts and spring shackles out is just timeless hey that's hot it's smoking so let's touch it! Cody is the best can't wait for him to film some more content on his projects
But you’ll notice at the end he was wearing heavy gloves when using the sawzall during the hitch removal 🤣
When your partner Jess is driving a self improved king cobra on a day-to-day basis, that is F**king bad ass! Totally PBG style 👌 you guys in my humble opinion leave all other youtube car channels in the dust.🤟
Just regular folks doing regular folk things! I'm glad you dig it
How about doing a Monroe Handler tribute with that little 'stang. They were the coolest version of these.
Smoking a cig while fighting the bolt…that’s why this is my favorite car channel!
This is the greatest channel on TH-cam... you show what we have all been through! Keep up the great work!
The burning bushing from your leaf spring looked about the same as the bushings on my Firebird's rear control arms after torching them. Lesson learned: Burning rubber hurts, wear gloves!
I did in fact learn that lesson 😂
"Look at me being safe!" You looked so happily surprised.
Damn wholesome content! everyone was involved!
I love watching you work on cars. You have the same kind of luck with things going your way that I do lol
Had a 77 Cobra 2, that car taught me a lot, from simple maintenance to rebuilding the original engine and building a 302 for it. Had plans to build a stroker 402 for it but life got in the way, that was 38 years ago
"Ima kick it's ass right now." Immediate cut to cigarette. Sounds and looks right to me 🤣.
Dalton, Top tip for that drill bit set. Lightly run a black sharpie across the top and the sizes will be much easier to see in future.
Good call
yes, then after that lightly ran sharpie across the raised numbers,,,use the same sharpie and write the sizes out on the case! LOL
Another tip: spend the big money on some Milwaukee Cobalt bits. Just do not ever loan them out! Also Diablo makes some good metal sawzall blades. Very few things I pony up big money for but saw blades and drill bits are some. Also get a corded Sawzall, for $100 it’s one thing I prefer to have a cord. Darn batteries only last about 7/8ths of the job
@@RustyZipper good blades are like gold
Great job Dalton and crew! Jess’ safety is worth all the burns and Harbor Freight blades❤️
The King Cobra lives to see more of the road 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing🙂
The nicest mustang 2 ive ever seen
Dude, a cutting torch could be a good friend. All midwestern/northeastern garages should have one.
It's cool that JD is getting hands on mechanic skills! Definitely professional mechanic skills the kind you don't learn from a trade school because they have to look professional
I appreciate the realistic content the average "Joe" can relate to.
Love that the man talk / pep talk
1 Minute after public release. Fastest I've been in here.
Have a safe and happy 2024!
Great work Dalton, and good to see Cody dropping in to assist, you're a good team. 👌
Another great video on Jess' Mustang! Best 99 cents a month I could spend. Happy New Year PBG crew!
Thank you so much!
Dalton says, "I am a mekanik!" While him and his brother are peeling pieces of the leaf spring apart...😂😂😂
Peak chaotic dad energy in this video. This will bring me some comfort as I struggle through my future chaotic shadetree mechanic moments. Thank you Dalton. Never change.
Showing the pile of tools is so reminiscent of every job I wrench on. Thanks for the laugh and reminder that I’m not alone! PBG is every man’s workshop
Happy new year to you jess and JD! She does love the cobra! Remember oil flying all over the underside is like free Shultz underseal
Polestang? Maybe instead of a snake on the hood a polebarn? A snake in a polebarn?
this video makes me so happy to live in the dirty south. I have never seen a leaf spring turn to shit from rust.
The Good Reverend Dalton absolutely kicking it into gear at 8:00. 😂
Rub your dirty fingers over the numbers on that drill case. It’ll darken them up so you can almost see them.
Great job, brother. You are a fast becoming my favorite TH-cam car guy.
Love the fact you keep working on your cars making them run and drive better
Your dad taught you right and now you're teaching JD God bless you guys and have a wonderful New Year.
I’m going back and forth old to new videos. Funny how much more you edit these days. That steering rack lol
Jess is a good addition to the channel she is funny as hell
This video was packed, must have taken a while to edit it down!
Sometimes I wish you had a clock on the wall so we could get a glimpse of the hours you keep.
You're a dynamo, not sure how you do it!
It gets pretty tiring! You can hear "coast to coast am" in the background in some of this video, if that tells you anything lol
Good ole George Knorry! Love C2C AM
Make it into a little Boss 302 Cobra for her, she helps you so much with your channel, she deserves a real sweet Mustang.
Reminds me of the time my buddy needed a vent wrench and so he grabbed a torch and bent a wrench. And then it broke and he lost his balance and pressed it into the back of his hand with all his weight while it was still glowing. Free craftsman tattoo is what he earned himself. Right across the back of the hand in all its 12mm glory.
If ever dealing with round tie rods, I find that using a pipe wrench is very convenient.
Thanks for giving some love to the Mustang II. I know they are not the most loved cars by most, but its my favorite car of all time. It was my 1st car when i was 16, and i still love them today 45 yurs later.
The king cobra ROCKS…..this car rules….jess is one lucky chic!!……a fresh new white paintjob would do this lil car MAJOR justice!!!
Great camera quality on top of a fabulous video.
I have one of these (a coupe) that I bought new in 1977. It has never set idle or towed a boat. As I live in central Texas, corrosion is not an issue. However, due to the strong sun, it is on its third paint job and I have replaced all of the rubber door seals, dash, vinyl seat covers, etc. It still has the original 13 inch wheels. I just recently got new tires, hard to do these days. It has the 5.0 Liter V-8. The biggest issues have been keeping the V-8 cool in the Texas heat and stalling. The engine was replaced many years ago due to overheating. The stock carb. has always stalled easily with the choke pull off going bad many times. Good video, I learned a lot about the car I have.
Glad you got the oil issue all fixed up on it and glad we get to see more on that car. I know it's not the most desirable car but it's a very realistic and obtainable car for the common folks.
You say that the mustang is a very obtainable car , WHERE ??? . I would like to find a GOOD one for my grandson that is getting close to driving age. Regardless I’m in Temple Texas. Thanks
8:03 giving fatherly man advice then cut to you with a cig....perfect
Thanks
Thanks!
The devious laugh of success at 22:13 hit me right in the feels!
You have the nicest Mustang 2 I've seen since I watched Star Man for the first time in about 1980. "Green Light means go, Red light means stop and Yellow light means go very fast!"
I was in the automotive business over 35 years . one trick I learned from working at a few dealerships . the cardboard that was used to ship parts to the dealership were used as floor pads to keep the greese slime and crap that came of the cars . including all the brake cleaner and extra antifreeze that missed the bucket or pan . once covered or done with a dirty job . into the dumpster . some shops don't have cleaners that clean Your floor . so most mechanics use this method to contain the shit from having to clean up later . even old Amazon cardboard . another is getting a mirror like on the back of a bathroom door . about two feet wide and 5-6 feet tall and mount it so the wide part is horizontal and mount it on the wall of where your driving into . this will help center the car or see where your at on a driveon or side post lift ! Happy New Year to you and your family ! Always enjoy your videos and sometimes learn a few things along the way .God Bless
I love to see you paint that car for her I hope you have and I hope there's an episode where you're fixing it and getting it all pretty for her hope you got the interior looking great
12mm is super common in the moped world (they're all basically 100% metric; it's awesome)
“You are now part of the Hercules gang”😂😂. Your brother’s a hoot.
Dalton ; Master Mechanic, father, philosopher... 7:58
EDIT : I love that black leather interior and the 8-Track tape player with a cassette installed. So '70's ! ROCKS ! This was the Charlie's Angels car, too !!! Farrah Fawcett-Majors drove it weekly 😀
His pain made me laugh so hard. No pain no gain right? Love you D
this is my second sitting of Pole Barn Garage and i cant get enough
That leaf spring reminds me of those goofy wafer cookies that are super thin layers - man that steel was FINISHED. Man..
Gotta make sure the lady is safe. Love the car.
Hammer and fire and tooth and nail the mighty Dalton slays the Cobra in the end!!
At around the 20 minute mark of this video i thought, "about now is a good time for Dalton to buy (or sponsored) a good 2-poster hoist". The roof of your shop seems high enough?
It would make life so much easier for you, if it is at all possible to do. Safer too.
You must be proud of your apprentice JD, he seems like a natural wrencher, an old head on young shoulders. Keep up the great vids man.
My sister bought one of these her senior year of HS. She named it Farrah because it looked exactly like the one Farrah had, blue strips and everything. Wasn’t very fast but the cool factor was high and she drove that thing everywhere. When the engine finally seized after many years, she begged my dad to rebuild it but it wasn’t worth the cost. It sat in a field for 10 years then went off to the crusher.
Watching this makes me feel better about my own misadventures in my shop
Great job Man!
That car fought you tooth and nail the whole way, but you never gave up! Well done!
Dalton, you and JD are 2 people that could be driving a car on fire down the freeway and not gave a crap
Where there's a will, there's a way. The holy goat looks like it should be in the next mad max movie. Good show Dalton.
33:36 PBG School of Technology.....Axle centering 101
I look forward to every PBG video. Love your content brother
Ah just what I needed on a Friday afternoon. Happy new year Dalton,JD & Jess.
I am yet to understand how this channel only has 147k subscribers. I enjoy this channel as much as VGG more sometimes.
Heres wishing you and yours happy new year brother plus to you not losing the garage. 🤘😀
I love ur videos because everything looks real and realistic. All the othwr channels make everything look easy.im glad u show how it really is working on cars.great videos as always man.u always show the hard work and the stubborn bolts and hardware we have to deal with when working on older cars. All the bolts and hardware is just like on ur videos. Nothing comes off easy and its always a fight lol
Good job glad you’re keeping tickle safe. And love the new wheel and tire combo . ❤
Happy new year man! Thanks for the awesome video!
Great ep Dalton! Good to see Cody and the other brave men and women working on those springs etc.
Your struggle with those leaf springs, reminds me of when I did the body mounts on my bullnose f150. The Mexican and Brazilian kids next door learned alot of English that day
Nice to see the king of all cobras again!! Should ride and handle much better, nice job Dalton 👍. That power steering leak saved it from rusting, spray er dwn with super clean and pressure wash that bad boy! Rock on 🤘!!!
There is nothing more humbling and a cause for humility to me than to watch such by the book and top mechanical pros tackling a job. You make it look too easy.
Awesome job
Choice words were on point
Thanks for sharing
Man , I love it!! Looks so good with those wheels and tires. That makes that car.
8:30 Nice motivational speech Dalton. I am pumped now.. I need to pull out every damn tool I own and start whoopin' on some metal!
LOL always a good video from yall. Hey Dalton I heard something in the engine when you fired it up before pulling it out of the pole barn, reason I mention this, so MAYBE something isnt happening that I went through. I bought a 1977 Ford F150 with a 302 that was a wholesale car ,from a Ford dealership my uncle worked at, he looked it over and other than the worse than Earl Scheib paint job, was a fairly decent truck, that the former owner had worked at the St Louis Mo Ford plant and had stuck a granny low 4 speed behind a 302 when the auto blew up, with the auto transmission rear end in it. The 302 ran really good, sounded like a Singer sewing machine running, a friends Dad had a place at the Lake Of The Ozarks, and needed some old doors and junk hauled down to a cabin he was building, so we get down there no problem, about half way back, I start hearing what sounded like lifter noise or a fuel pump spring broke, by the time I got back to Wright City Mo, it was getting louder, I pulled the left valve cover off, fired it up and on the 302 Ford of this era, they had a valve rotator cap on the end of the valve stem, that the rocker arm hit, that cap had split in half, and already beat the end of the valve and mushroomed it, I thought maybe I could get by just replacing the cap, Nope, had to pull the head and replace a valve, the REAL lucky part, the valve spring keeper had been wedged in by the split cap, and was paper thin, almost dropped the valve. Dad was helping me, I mentioned, I might as well pull the other valve cover to check it, well it isnt making noise I wouldnt bother , one week to the day, the lifter noise started on the other side, I took it off and another rotator cap had ate a hole in the top, luckily it didint mess the end of the valve up, a buddy had dropped a valve in his 302, and I got a whole baggie full of rotators and stuck in my glove box, I never had anymore trouble in over 150,000 mile out of it!! You might pull the valve cover off and check that tick it has so it dont drop a valve on Jessie!! Good video..
Great episode!!
Love that little rig. Had one 35 years ago brings back memories.
FYI editing is spot on!
