attempted murder sounds right, because a situation could easily end up killing that person who is being swatted and that isnt even counting the fact that they're wasting time that the officers could be using to save lifes who were in ACTUAL danger
+Sky Carter Actually this is probably one of the reasons twitch requires you to add your facebook to log in now. Facebook has access to a lot of personal information including general location. And you actually can find a persons location through their skype. This may be also why cyber defenders are becoming more and more of a thing. It's becoming one of the most needed jobs as media grows, so yeah they need someone who knows how to search for I.P. Addresses. Even viewing the live stream itself would help. Example person calls in about whatever, police view live stream while listening to call, while doing so searching their ip info. Makes it easier to find who's lieing.
The SWAT people were very aggressive towards Matthewson. I understand that they are trained to treat every suspect as a threat and have to take extreme caution, but he was obviously co-operating and the SWAT officers had to know something was up when they walked in considering that the scene was nothing like it was described by the caller. They didn't need to be THAT rough.
He wasn't resisting or threatening them either. If you look at how almost any other tactical police force in the world works, you'll see that they work with little or no violence at all.
I remember the Kootra one, the officers turned off his webcam (which they are not allowed to do) and were trying to grill him on how he knew what was happening, apparently SWAT officers were unaware of what swatting someone is. They didn't disable the microphone, however, and audio continued for several minutes before Kootra told the officers that the webcam wasn't responsible for audio and they were still technically on stream, after which the officers disabled the microphone as well. Very aggressive behavior from the officers which is partially understandable given the information given prior. However also unnecessarily dangerous since they were required to travel through a 100% peaceful office to reach the given room, and shouting at/shoving someone who had surrendered before the officers even entered the room seems slightly out of protocol. There was also a lack of organization from the unit, with one officer yelling at Kootra to lie on the ground while another yelled for him to stand in the center of the room, which prompted Kootra to ask them to clarify what they exactly wanted him to do (before getting forced to the floor and a boot on his back).
in America they are trained to be threatening and the swat teams in America are actually MEANT to be lethal and to deal with highly lethal suspects. I can forgive you for not knowing that if you live in the UK but not if you live in the us,as that would be plain ignorance.
+Les Wallace They have no proof and he was cooperating. Spin it anyway you like, but all that unnecessary disorganization, volume, invasion of personal space, and aggression was unfounded given the circumstances. Not to mention the incoherence of the group's orders DOES show a lack of general competence, levelheadedness, and training, all of which these "lethal" SWAT teams are supposed to have under their belt long before they are let out into the field(though these circumstances cannot begin to compare to the field, considering the truth and conditions of the matter, so that's an even more unjustifiable and incompetent representation on their part). It's not right nor cool nor smart to label rightful critique as "plain ignorance" or foreign lack of understanding- that's called downplaying with excuses, son.
Mai Naughton-Ceja i think there should be a code that only high-ranking CIA or FBI buildings can see through anonymous calls made in the past. just a suggestion.
+Gh0s Even your phone company can't do this, no way the cops can. I went through this with the FCC trying to stop a harasser once. Turns out it is really simple to spoof phone numbers, and very hard to get past the spoof.
+Gh0s What it should be is once the call has been made two squads will be dispatched simultaneously one to the "offender" and the other to the caller so we can have both in case the call was false.
Btw Swatting someone is considered a crime, punishable by a $10,000 fine & up to 25 years in jail. This does not include any other charges that can be incurred by being sued by the victim of the swatting. This is just the current laws on it, law makers are attempting to make the punishments even more severe. I hope you enjoy this wealth of information.
I saw Jordan's stream and he actually handled it really well. The second he heard people shouting he said under his breath to his streamers "We're getting swatted." and quickly told the officers he had a prop gun in a nearby chest but no real weapons. He then told the swatters there was a livestream going on and they attempted to cover the camera (didn't really work though lol) but I believe he told them how to turn it off.
The FBI is full scale chasing potential threats last spotted in the U.S. but they can't trace a simple fucking phone call. But I'm crazy if I spout my mouth about the NSA, then.
Except from the point, that the narrator sounds like he really hates what he does, this channel is actually quite good and enjoyable. :) Good clips, very informative and somehow fun to watch. So thank you. You got yourself another sub. ;)
+Slurp tastical Jurisdiction, they are not allowed to arrest someone out of theres. They would need to contact the RCMP or the O.P.P to make an arrest, and trust me, it won't happen.
Better make an "update". I live in Wichita. Yesterday, the cops killed a 27 year old man. Police shot him when he answered the door. A fellow gamer in LA made the "swatting" call. One man dead, the other probably going to jail. I will say, it appears the cops did a horrible friggin' job. All the man did was answer his door. Hell, how did the cops even know they had the right house?
Hirotrum if authorities know who was the caller, the caller will get a arrested by cops and FBI agents, the caller also will face a jail sentence. So, yes, swatting gets jail time.
+The elite guardians Hate to be that person... but given the circumstances of your comment... *generation's *more dumb or just dumber *punctuation goes a long long way I'm going to just crawl back into the cesspool which I came from now.
Shit like this needs to fucking stop. How in the fucking world is twitch the top streaming website but doesn't have a good enough system to keep your private information like your IP and other shit safe? I don't even want to stream just because of assholes doing this for a good laugh. And the worst part about it is when the person who made the false call doesn't get caught and gets away with it...
Lol I really don't care what you guys think of this post but I actually did this to someone a couple of weeks ago just because he talked shit about my car (Honda Civic) while I was playing Call Of Duty so I called the cops on him claiming he threatened to rape my "girlfriend" which I don't have one anyways nor need one. Lmao the funniest shit ever when I overheard a cop questioning him on my headset! xD
It was just a random conversation while playing and i own one of the fastest cars in my block and when ppl talk shit about it I get pissed. so i pranked him by actually dialing 911 on this guy not really thinking what will happen since i never 911'd nobody before and next thing i know he got talked to by cop
+ElCapo you could get in serious fucking trouble for that though. I don't see why people swat other people. I understand if someone is talking shit and you want to fuck with them but if people are just playing a game and streaming it they don't deserve to get swatted.
Getting swatted is the most terrifying thing in the history of our lives. It doesn't matter whether you've committed a crime or not, it puts your life on the edge of being punished to prison or getting shot at. The fact that people will literally call the police on you is bad and shameful for the caller. When I watch these videos, I get shooked and terrified as I hold onto my plush, thinking that the world is a very dangerous place once you're out there; one false move, and you are done for. I know I've said this before, but people calling the police on you for no reason... damn. Shame on people who are falsely accusing others for illegal actions. man... what has this world come to?
+Shadowoc91 yeah....DDOSing a system just takes it offline for a period of time, not give the attacker information, unless they are then able to get onto the system? and take the information? i dunno.
gamenut112 1 year later im here to tell you wrong ! ddos doesnt take anything offline but yes asking it to spam an insane number of prompts endlessly at once can crash a server or lag it but yes ddos'ing can retrieve all kinds of info within the data base
8:14 THAT's NOT WHAT A DDOS ATTACK IS. You can't get personal info from a DDOS. It's a brute force attack where you bombard a network with requests until it crashes.
OMG! I remember #11!!! I cannot remember the guys exact name...big something? Maybe it had the word fish in it. Anyways, we would always go on teamspeak and this guy was kind of...douchey, I guess? I mean, he was a 16 yr old kid. Anyways, there was some guy who thought he was cool(said he was from canada) that got the guy's IP I guess through teamspeak. So many memorys of this server! You can kind of see my name @5:12, I was a manager for the server, but only in high school.
If I was a streamer and got swatted, no matter how afraid I'd be, I'd be laughing because of how obscure it is. How do you think the swat would respond to a man suddenly laughing while being hand cuffed?
^ exactly the reason why my comment is valid. didn't choose to use any derogatory terms unlike you. but sure if pointing out how police or other government officials treat people based on their race makes me "racist" then fine. Your entitled to your opinion no matter how dumb or ignorant it may be.
+OutsideStandards Why would you lie about such a pointless thing? Like how desperate are you for attention? Go get a social life and stop being a basement dweller.
Just saying, but you should be a bit more.. "outgoing", or rather, "feel" what you're saying.. I liked the video, but listening to you talk with such little enthusiasm was a bit off-putting, and actually somewhat depressing. Lol. Thanks for the vid, though.
Not following orders isnt reason to shoot anyone. If tazer wasnt an option then convincing him to come out would have been a good thing to try before you SHOOT HIM!!! You know. What they did with the majority of the white people. Cant justify shooting someone in the face after they turned out to be 100% innocent.
+Padoryn Darkwater DID YOU EVEN LISTEN TO THE STORY?!?!? HE KEPT ON GOING BACK IN, ALL THEY KNEW HE COULD HAVE BEEN GETTING A GUN SO THEY SJOT HIM WITH RUBBER BULLETS THE NEXT TIME SO IF HE DID HAVE A GUN HE COULDNT GET IT, AND THEY ALSO DIDNT KNOW THAT IT WASNT REAL
+Ryan Kaegi yeah but he didn't have a gun. Can't shoot someone in the face based on a what if. Especially, like I said already, he was 100% innocent. They made no effort to figure out the situation. Had they done that, no one would have been shot. Like in the dozen other videos with the white guys. Had Lil Wayne and Chris Brown been at home they would have shot their black asses too.
Making false phone calls to the police is no joke. It not only harms innocent, law abiding citizens, but also diverts attention away from the real threats.
The police have to take EVERY call seriously, its their job to do so. If you needed to call them for a ligament reason you would want them to take it seriously and get there ASAP right?
The police have the resources to verify a call such as this, but unfortunately the police PREFER to practice there SWAT tactics on the citizens that they are sworn to protect. Maybe a good lawyer is in order!
I think swatting is wrong because not only is it illegal, but it is very from a traumatizing and stressful for the streamers. And that's not really fair.
Bruh, Swatting (innocent people) puts lives in danger, breaches privacy, damages property and puts so much legal stuff to a person, and wastes public resources and the maximum time in jail for doing that is only 5 years?!
Honestly I think swatting is at least partly motivated as a protest to swat policy and the police state we currently live in. Swats on the wrong house, etc have resulted in many deaths
I don't really get why people hate your voice, because it seems rather fitting with the videos that are on depressing events, the (Sorry) Drone seems to go with it.
Why can't we go back to simpler times with ordering pizzas on people? Making cops go after people for no reason is ridiculous.
Some Person who Watches and has a really long name because I can have a long name all day long yeah that can get someone killed
Yea 20 years in jail should be minimum for this
1 year is too soft for a Swatting. It should be considered as "Attempted Murder".
Attempted murder and making terroristic threats.
attempted murder sounds right, because a situation could easily end up killing that person who is being swatted
and that isnt even counting the fact that they're wasting time that the officers could be using to save lifes who were in ACTUAL danger
Thank god your not a judge
All of these swatting pranks have one thing in common. No one was caught. Something needs to change.
+Sky Carter IKR...is it THAT difficult for the FBI to find a caller??

He wasn't resisting or threatening them either. If you look at how almost any other tactical police force in the world works, you'll see that they work with little or no violence at all.
that's because the usa has a way larger crime rate, and because there are next to zero gun laws

There literally should be a fine of at least $15,000 for swatting somebody.
+jc1424 I say 25 years with a felon. I don't play around when people try to ruin others life.
+hhds113 agreed
+jc1424 doesn't deploying a swat team cost 50 000$ to the police department?
Swatting does actually carry criminal charges. People have gone to jail for a long time over it.
There should be a life sentence put in there to

redlightcivic agreed, the victim had two kids that now have no father over a game
News stories are now saying the man who died wasn't a gamer and wasn't the target. A false address was given. :(
The fucking murderer who called should land in federal prison for domestic terrorism through instigating a murder and endangering children.
Agreed. He has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.
this man always sounds high out of his mind in every video its great
I was actually watching the Creatures livestream when it happened and at first I thought it was fake at first

Making false phone calls to the police is no joke. It not only harms innocent, law abiding citizens, but also diverts attention away from the real threats.
Do police (in the U.S.) check to see if the call is legitimate?
Can't, not enough time, every second counts
There is really no way to know. they have to go to their homes
somtimes they do it depends on the police department
Well if it has happened before to the person ofc. Say a streamer is swatted if someone calls another on em ofc the police are going to question it...
The police have to take EVERY call seriously, its their job to do so. If you needed to call them for a ligament reason you would want them to take it seriously and get there ASAP right?
This guy can make Barney creepy as crap with that voice xD
nobody likes koots
Explains why he has almost 1 Million subscribers.
hint : it was a joke
he's a wannabe cat. James is the best
Wow you guys only watch nova? I guess everyone only watches nova and not the creatures
Royatoy I don't even watch nova lol, but I do watch all their videos on the hub
love the background music so fitting
The police have the resources to verify a call such as this, but unfortunately the police PREFER to practice there SWAT tactics on the citizens that they are sworn to protect. Maybe a good lawyer is in order!
Not how that works moron.
I think swatting is wrong because not only is it illegal, but it is very from a traumatizing and stressful for the streamers. And that's not really fair.
Interesting.
btw your voice is boring..
+Amir og magnus your*
We dig the narrators voice much better than chills.
Any updates on the last vid?
Dude the narrator sounds super chill. I want what he's having ^^

Hi Top15's!
Bruh, Swatting (innocent people) puts lives in danger, breaches privacy, damages property and puts so much legal stuff to a person, and wastes public resources and the maximum time in jail for doing that is only 5 years?!
Shots fired at Lil Wayne's house 😂
Is this really the guy from the meme? I wasn't even searching for it LMAO
I think so
Top ten reasons why this society is ruined
The first one never fails to make me laugh, LMAO!

Welp. You can add one more to this list...today
And now someone just got killed over these “pranks” this is bullshit how people can’t get away with this
Number 15 Burger King foot lettuce
Honestly I think swatting is at least partly motivated as a protest to swat policy and the police state we currently live in. Swats on the wrong house, etc have resulted in many deaths
Nigga did you just say re-thor-ic? LOL
Sick intro
I don't really get why people hate your voice, because it seems rather fitting with the videos that are on depressing events, the (Sorry) Drone seems to go with it.
You have even just a LITTLE weed in your house, you get a possible prison sentence...
Maybe cuz it's illegal?
+Frost King maybe cuz its bullshit
*Bomb has been planted* cop: "SHIT, GET DOWN"
